Family Reunion Time Part 1

July 1st we finished getting packed up and headed on our 7 hour drive to Lincoln Nebraska. Ethan and Wyatt were so excited to go see their cousins.

When we were almost done with our drive we looked back thinking that Emmett was either happy peacefully eating his nutella and breadsticks or asleep. Ya he was covered in chocolate!! haha

What a mess!! haha

He was almost asleep covered in chocolate and then he got super mad and screamed for the last little bit of our drive. When we finally made it to Tyrel and Vandy's I washed Emmett off in the faucet outside to get him all cleaned up which Emmett thought was super fun! haha Then cleaned his car seat and finally went inside to play with cousins.

It was a mad house with 9 kiddos and 6 adults in a 1800 square foot house but the kids had a blast and so did us adults!!

These boys grabbed the container of cheese balls without us knowing and were going to town on the kitchen floor. haha

The first few days of our trip to Nebraska were not officially part of the reunion. So there was nothing specifically planned. So we played at the park and went to a nature museum.

The kids thought that it was a pretty cool place. With the small amount of animals we saw there I knew they would be so excited to go to the zoo in just a few days.

We also got to see a blind and one winged owl eat a mouse! Wyatt was all, "aww... I like mouses" haha he was sad to see the owl eat the mouse. The other kids were a little grossed out by it as well. haha

After playing at the park in the heat we let the kids play in the pool in the backyard.

Kemry and Mady put makeup on one or two times while we were there. haha It sure made Kemry look scary when it was dripping down her face. haha

It was fun to watch the kids playing so well together!

On July 3rd we decided to have some pre 4th of July fun and have some ice cream outside and do our own fireworks.

The kids also thought it was super fun to lay down and have Emmett walk on top of them. haha It always fun until someone gets hurt which of coarse happened! haha 

Look at all these cute cousins sitting waiting for some fireworks while they eat some ice cream!!

They were all excited about the fireworks except for Decklyn who you can see inside the door. haha

Brandon got to light all the fireworks. Probably since we bought them! haha Emmett would say, "run." haha It was funny. He mostly started to say it because the other kids were saying it. 

Emmett liked the fireworks except the really loud screeching ones. He was so funny because after the fireworks he would say "boom!!" copying the fireworks! haha

The kids got to do some sparklers and they were super excited about that!

It took quite a while to get the sparklers to light. When they finally did they thought they were fun and wanted to keep playing with more and more even after they were all gone! haha

Emmett kept turning around towards Vandy and Piper to show them his sparkler. haha It was just a little too close to them so we were freaking out just a little bit! haha 

It was Emmett's first time doing sparklers all by himself and I think he was so inthrawled in the sparkler and thought it was so cool. Even he wanted to keep going. He got handed one and grabbed it too high on the stick and almost got burnt. Luckily I was able to get it away and move his hand farther down before it got him.

Piper was not so much a fan of all the fireworks and sparklers!

I love Wyatt's face! Pure excitement!! :-) 

We let the kids stay up on the 4th of July to watch the fireworks! It was worth it for sure. Fireworks were going off everywhere!! The neighbors had bought bit ones too so they were going off right above our heads and dropping firework pieces all over us. It was crazy! I have never been that close to bit fireworks like that before! 

By 10 o'clock the kids were pretty much asking to go to bed! haha It was a long day and they were all exhausted. Thankfully they slept in a little longer the next morning!
