Trip to Nebraska

On October 18th we headed to Lincoln Nebraska to go visit Tyrel and Vandy and their kiddos plus their new baby boy Beckham. We thought it would be fun to get out there and help them out a little bit. So we planned it and in the middle of October made our way out there. We were excited to go see them and their new little addition to the family. The boys could hardly wait to see their cousins. So we were all very excited. We headed out around lunch time and arrived around 8 because our stops are always longer than we anticipate. By the time we got their we were all very ready to be out of the car and to have some fun. The kids had a little bit of time with their cousins and then we sent them off to bed. 

Emmett got a hold of the mango bag and took out the rest of them. haha He sure was happy to have the chance to eat as many as he wanted. Until I took them away that is. haha 

This picture was taken because Ethan wanted me to take a picture of him. He is always wanting me to take pictures of him. 

We stopped at Wendy's for dinner. It was a nice Wendy's and they had to cool coke machine so I was able to get a rasberry diet coke and I tried out their spicy chicken sandwich which was actually pretty good. 

Ethan was just a little excited about the toy that came in their kids meals. haha 

Emmett had to follow his brother like always. 

That night we didn't stay up very long. We got the kids all settled in bed and then shortly after that we all headed off to bed. As usual I couldn't sleep when we laid down on the air mattress. So after trying for what seemed a few hours I decided to try to go to sleep on the couch. Besides the fact that I couldn't get comfy and I kept getting hot and cold I also started to have a coughing fit and with Emmett asleep right next to me I decided that sleeping on the couch would be a better option for all of us. I slept so much better on the couch and was finally comfy. Thankfully, Emmett slept well that night so Brandon could get some sleep as well. 

The next day we hung around the house until lunch time since Tyrel had to work until just before lunch. So we hung out and let the kids play and have fun at the house. Then we fed the kids some lunch and headed to the church building to play some Betea.

Little Piper just kills me. She is so stinking cute and she seems to love me. We had fun making faces into the camera. haha She is my little friend and anytime I see her that is what I call her, "friend". 

There was a dinner going on in the gym at the church so we had to play outside instead. Thankfully the weather was pretty nice so we just played in the parking lot. Vandy had to go take their little one to the doctors so we played and then hungout in the parking lot until she came back with their car.

It was fun watching all the kids chase after these disks and just having fun together. After a little while all of the kids needed drinks so we took a break and headed into the church. Then we just hung out outside getting bit by these tiny little black bugs until Vandy arrived. 

After Vandy got back we grabbed some sandwiches for us adults and headed to a park to let the kids play for a little while before heading home.

They were all having so much fun. The rest of us were getting sick of getting little bites from these pesky tiny black bugs but tried to have fun with the kids anyways. 

When we couldn't take it any longer we headed out. Brandon and I took Kemry, Ethan and Wyatt to the store with us so we could pick up a few things for dinner that night and Wyatt went home with Tate, Piper and baby beckham. 

Emmett was so tired and was a hot mess screaming and crying about everything. So we were glad to get back to the house and put him to bed for a little while. 

The next day we went to Chuck E Cheese with the kids. The kid each had 20 credits to use however they wanted and we got some pizza for them. It was pretty fun! 

Emmett and Piper loved this little train. Emmett especially loved this train and wanted to keep riding it over and over again. He really didn't care to play many of the games. He would play a game and then run right back to the train again. haha 

Brandon played a milk jug game where you have to throw a ball into the milk jug. If you do that 5 times then you win 250 tickets. Well..... he did it! haha Tyrel had just mentioned how he got 4 in a row and then Brandon came over and got all 5. Tyrel was a little upset. haha Sibling rivalry! haha 

The kids flipped out when they saw how many tickets Brandon had won, especially Ethan. 

After enjoying their pizza the kids finished off their credits and then we counted all of the tickets we had won. We then combined our forces and let the kids pick out their prizes. Then us adults got some Chinese food and headed home to eat and put the little ones down for naps so we could play some games.

Emmett thought baby Beckham was so cute and wanted to hold me. I love how excited he was and how cute he was with little Beckham. 

Then of course Pipe needed her photo op too. haha 

Park time!! I took all of the kids up to the park near their house for a little bit. They are such goof balls. The kids had fun playing zombie tag and running around like wild animals.

Saturday we took it a lot easier and didn't do as much. We hung out around the house and let the kids just have fun playing together. We played some games and just enjoyed being there.

Sunday morning we got packed up and cleaned up some of the house so that Vandy would not have to and then took off back home. It was a short but fun trip and we were glad to be able to get out there and help them out a little bit with cooking and cleaning and keeping the kids occupied. When were leaving Sunday morning Piper came up to me when I was saying bye and said, "where you going?" I told her we had to go bye bye and go back to our home. She got this super sad look on her face and she turned to her mom and started to cry walking away from me. haha It was so cute and so sad!! After that sad departure we were on our way home. Emmett screamed and cried for almost the whole 2 hours that we drove until we stopped for lunch. It all made sense when we stopped for lunch and he unleashed the fury in his diaper. Wyatt had had the runs the day before and now Emmett had them. Thankfully after he loaded his diaper he was much happier and didn't scream anymore in the car. Then as we were almost to Cheyenne Wyoming Wyatt started to cry saying he had to go to the bathroom really bad. We had just passed an exit and now we had no idea how much longer we would have to drive before we had another gas station to stop at (the joys of being in the middle of nowhere). Thankfully the urge to go subsided and he made it till we got to the next gas station which was at least 10 minutes away. When we got there Brandon ran him into the bathroom so that he wouldn't have an accident because Wyatt had started crying again Poor Kid!! After that stop we made the last little trek home. We made it home and unloaded the car and then headed to the park with the kids to get some energy out before going home to cook up a frozen pizza and then go to bed. That night we were so happy to be back in our own bed. It is always so fun visiting family but it is also nice getting back home.
