2019 started out pretty great. January 1st we had a pretty chill day with the kids playing with their new things from Christmas and then Brandon and I grabbed some Taco Bell and we watched "Spiderwick Chronicles" with the boys in the basement. They were excited and yet really nervous to watch it. They ended up really liking it even though it has some jumpy parts in it.
I love that Emmett looks terrified, Ethan is plugging his ears and Wyatt is hiding behind his bowl of popcorn. haha
We missed trash day after Christmas so we had WAY too much garbage by the time trash day came around again. haha
As I was cleaning up the Christmas stuff (yes I cleaned it up before break was even over) I accidentally knocked over our vase on the fireplace. It broke into lots of pieces. So after over 10 years of having this flower arrangement and vase it was time to get a new one. We were given this at our open house in Idaho after we got married. So even though Brandon wasn't the biggest fan of it I liked it enough and thought it was cool that we still had it from when we had just gotten married. Oh well, time to move on an find something new!
I also took the boys to get donuts one morning. Mr. Yo's was closed, which we didn't know until I drove there, so we went to Lamars. Their donuts are so much bigger than Mr. Yo's.
Emmett was the only one that ate all of his donut. I still can't believe he ate his whole chocolate bar donut. It was HUGE!! Ethan saved some of his ginormous apple fritter for later and Wyatt was just being a light weight. haha They thought it was fun going to grab donuts though so that was a success!
The temperature warmed up a little bit that first week in January so I suggested that we take down the Christmas lights on the house. Better to do it on a warmer weekend then have to do it when it is freezing. I am really weird when I am pregnant and wanted to take all the Christmas stuff down so quickly this year. Which is so weird for me to want. haha
We also got out and went golfing one afternoon. The weather was just too nice to not go golfing. The kids were so excited to get out and golf. Especially to drive around the cart. Although with how dry and cold it had been we were not aloud to drive on the grass. So the kids did a lot more running and walking than I think they had thought they would.
Another fun thing we did was going to a Denver Nuggets game with Ty and Vandy and their kids. Our boys were so excited to go to another Nuggets game. We drove down and met the cousins a little early and let them play at a park near the stadium before going in to root on the Nuggets.
Emmett's face!!! haha What a nut! The poor kids face had been beaten up this Christmas break. With his cheek from falling off the trampoline and the falling and scratching right above his lip and I believe he had another mark on the other side of his face. He was taking a beating and yet he was still so happy, and weird!! haha
It was a little cooler than we thought it was going to be but the sun was at least out so that helped it not feel too cold.
Game Time!
Piper just LOVES her uncle Brandon these days. She had to sit on his lap and kept trying to feed him her cotton candy slobber and all. haha
Wyatt had fun screaming with Tate and yelling for the Nuggets and Ethan had fun just watching and spending time with cousins and eating anything he could manage to get. It was a fun evening!
When the mini Nintendo's battery is dyeing and you can't see it in natural light the smartest thing to do is to hide under a blanket so you can see it. Changing the battery? Why would you do that!!? haha Wyatt and Emmett played like this for a little while until I finally changed the battery for them. haha
When it rains.... wash your car! 😁
With it still drizzling outside Emmett really wanted to wash his Dad's car. So I gave him the sponge and filled up a bucket with water so he could rinse off the dirty sponge. He thought it was fun for a few minutes and then he decided it was more fun to just fill up the bucket with water and then dump it out in the rocks.
This kids faces these days!! haha What to do with him. He makes the goofiest scariest faces!
I can normally get these boys excited to help me out if I tell them that I need their muscles. That pizza was bigger than Emmet. haha I was a little nervous that Emmett was going to drop it but he did a pretty good job. The face says it all... it was a little big for him! haha
Started to work on colors with Emmett. I have not put much time into teaching Emmett certain things and getting him ready for preschool so I thought it was time to start. He at least needs to know his colors. haha I guess that is what happens with the 3rd child. So I pulled out my mini m&m's and my m&m color sheet and had him work on it. He LOVED this little game. After a couple of times he was getting really good at it. I have some work to do with him and his colors and letters but at least I started something and he was having fun with it.
22 weeks pregnant in this picture. This pregnancy has been rough. From being more sick in the beginning to my back hurting and just feeling uncomfortable in my own skin it has been tough. I am glad this is my last time! Can't wait to meet this little guy!
While eating lunch at Subway I told Emmett he should take a picture with this polar bear cut out. So he and Wyatt decided that was a good idea and to try and copy what it was doing. haha
They gave us a good laugh that is for sure!
Working on Ethan's first pinewood derby car for scouts! Ethan was so excited to have his first pinewood derby. He had lots of fun with the space derby so he was excited to make a cool car with his Dad.
Look at these Studs!!!!
At the end of January we agreed to watch Ty and Vandy's kids for the weekend. It went pretty smoothly, just lots of noise and chaos. The kids had fun together though and it went by quickly. The hardest part was getting them all out the door and to church on time. We had to drive both cars to church which was just crazy. It was a lot of kids to make sit still for the hour of sacrament meeting. haha
Happy sugar face after eating French toast. This kid can pound down the food! I thin he out ate all 3 of my boys! haha
Having a little FHE lesson on spreading the light in the basement. The kids thought it was cool.
Thankfully it wasn't too incredibly cold while the cousins were in town. So they were able to go outside quite a bit. They loved jumping on the trampoline together and little Pipers hair was so hilarious. Her hair looked like a lions mane. haha It was so funny!!
We ended their trip with letting them watch a movie and go to town on a bunch of popcorn. It was a busy weekend but the kids had fun and we survived. I definitely don't want 7 kids! haha
To end January Brandon and I took Emmett to the Twin Silos park. It yet again was warm enough to go outside but the breeze was pretty chilly. We took Emmett anyways to give him some alone time with us and have some fun. With my back and big belly it was hard to chase Emmett around much so I was glad that Brandon was there. I was basically there to observe and take a few pictures. haha
Right before leaving the park we went down to the little stream they have. Brandon crossed over this log and then told Emmett to come over. Emmett for some reason got really scared and wouldn't do it. Brandon tried to get him to be brave but he just was not into it. He finally managed to do it once Brandon let him grab his hand. We were not at the park for too long but it was fun to get out and to have some fun out of the house with Emmett.
Wyatt drew this Empire State building at school. He did a pretty good job!
So that was January in a nut shell! It was a good start to 2019! We are so excited for all that this year will bring our family!!
