Easter weekend was fun and my feet were finally starting to heal and not feel as itchy. The only problem was that the following Tuesday I started to feel like I was coming down with food poisoning or something. At first I thought I was just hungry but it didn't seem to go away. By the evening it was hurting me like food poisoning starts to hurt. I was worried I would wake up throwing up that night. Thankfully I didn't. However, my stomach felt really gross all that day. I did not feel great which made it hard to keep up with my boys. Then of course Brandon had meetings that evening so he wasn't home till later and I just wasn't feeling great. That Thursday morning I was glad that I wasn't feeling terrible because I had to go take Kayden to the eye doctor. After having lunch with my mom and Emmett and Kayden at the park we went home and I was feeling pretty good just tired. So I took a nap while Kayden napped and Emmett played on the ipad next to me. When I woke up to go pick up the boys from school I had a little bit of an ache in my neck. I figured it was just because I had laid down funny. By that evening I was hurting everywhere. It felt like nerve pain going down my neck and my arms and back. If Brandon barely touched my back it hurt. I tried taking a bath to see if that would help but it didn't. My face even felt puffy and tender under my jaw line. It was the weirdest thing. So I didn't do much that night but sit on the couch and tried not to move. I took some advil and hoped that I would wake up feeling better in the morning. The next morning I woke up and my nerve pain was basically gone. I could still feel a little bit of it but not as bad as it had been. My face still felt like it was a little swollen still and my stomach was feeling really gross. It was a terrible time. Oh, I also have to say that when I was hurting so badly I prayed for help and after I prayed I had the thought that maybe it was being caused by my new face serum. So I thought I should go wash my face off since I had just put more on. So I washed my face and put regular lotion on my face. I was sick with a weird tummy bug for another week which was not fun. Thankfully, I never felt that nerve pain again. My stomach just constantly felt like I was recovering from food poisoning. Brandon thinks that it was an allergic reaction to the prednisone that I had taken. So I wont be taking that ever again!! I was sure glad when I started to feel better! After not feeling better for about 2 weeks I finally was better and decided to try my serum again. So I put it on in the morning and then took the boys to school. By the time I got home my face started to feel swollen and tender to touch under my jaw. I also felt like something was in my throat and felt like I needed to take deep breathes. I was about to put my make up on when I realized my face was starting to feel swollen and my muscles in my jaw were feeling tired. So I washed my face and put regular lotion on. My neck was even starting to ache by that time. About 30 minutes after that I started to feel dizzy. I was officially allergic to something in that serum. Luckily, I didn't leave it on all day. I probably would have had that nerve pain again. Needless to say I returned that serum and will never buy it again!! YIKES!!! Once I was all better I was finally back to living a normal life and chasing after the kids and trying to have fun with them. So here are some pictures from the rest of our month!
Emmett was so proud of his art work and crown he made at school so we had to take a picture of them before we threw them away.
We also made it to the park when the weather was nice.
The boys like getting outside! Kayden isn't super into swings but he enjoyed walking around outside.
The last game of March madness was also on during this time and Ethan was in the running for 1st place in the Murri bracket. So we decided to let the boys stay up and watch the game. Papa and Gigi even came over to watch the game with us. It was a fun game to watch especially since Ethan was so into it because this was it! He was either going to win the March madness bracket or lose! He was pretty nervous!! haha
It was way later than we ever let them stay up and Emmett was fighting falling asleep but Ethan's team WON!!! He was officially the winner of the Murri March Madness bracket!! He was so excited!!!!
This was a toy from Wendy's. They have way better kids meal toys!
Our sweet little Kayden trying to get his binkie that was way too far towards the back. I am sure glad he has not learned how to climb out of his crib yet since he sure seems to know how to try and climb in. haha
Eye doctor time!
A few months ago I started to notice Kayden's eye would go king of cross eyed. It did not happen very often at first so we thought maybe he was just doing it on purpose and for fun. However, after a while he started to do it more often and some times it was his left eye and other times it was his right eye. Then while we were gone in Texas my Mom was saying that his eyes were doing it a lot more now. So when we got back it was time to call the eye doctor. So I called and we took him in.
After getting his eye dilated they were really going cross eyed!!
Crazy to see them so crossed! I was sure glad we finally took him in. It had gone from every once in a while to way more often. While we were there they said that the doctor would be able to see if he needed surgery or glasses! I was really hoping for glasses instead of surgery. He has already had too many procedures and a surgery for being so little.
Thankfully, he just needs glasses! I was relieved to hear that he needed glasses and not surgery. After his check up we picked up Emmett and Gigi and grabbed some Chick Fil A and went to the park.
Kayden's eyes were still sensitive to the light and I was glad that he left his glasses on while we were outside because it was so bright.
It was super windy as soon as we got to the park. So we basically ate and then left. We figured it would be more fun to play at the park when it wasn't so windy!
Scary faces!!! Emmett is pretty good at making scary faces!! haha
Kayden grabbed his little puppy and wanted to cuddle with it. He said it was going nigh night! haha It was pretty cute!
Just a sweet little buddy!
Here are the glasses that we picked out for Kayden. Since we don't have eye insurance we just had to pay out right for it. They were expensive glasses. By the time we got blue light protection and the transitional lenses so that they would go dark in the sun and having lenses that are supposed to be scratch resistant they were almost 600 bucks!! Hopefully he doesn't have to change his prescription and we can just stick with these for a long time.
It's crazy how much more often his eyes were crossing now. We couldn't wait to get his glasses in and see if they would help him. It took about a week and a half till we got the call that his glasses were in.
This was the first time Kayden got to ride in the car cart at King Soopers. He was super excited to drive in the "cool car".
Being sneaky eating these chips. haha He ate more than I should have let him eat!
We also went and bought Kayden some new shoes! He looked so cute walking out of the Nike store holding his bag! He is just so little still I love it!
Ethan's March Madness Murri Trophy! He was super excited to get it. Plus Grandpa and Grandma Murri sent him a cash prize as well! Lucky!!!!!
Brandon took the boys golfing one afternoon. I was staying behind to let Kayden nap. Plus I wanted to chill for a little bit. I told the boys to go prepared and bring a jacket. It is always windier up at the golf course. Did they listen? No!!! So Brandon sent me this picture of Emmett with the caption "Mother Knows Best!" haha How true that statement is!! Emmett got cold and didn't have a warm enough jacket so he had to put on Dad's wind breaker jacket.
Playing hide and seek with the kids one night and this is where Ethan hid. So naturally the other boys wanted to see if they could fit in the box. Who knew that both Emmett and Kayden could fit in that diaper box inside Kayden's closet! haha
We were really hoping that with how much Kayden loves wearing sun glasses that wearing his prescription glasses would be an easy transition. He keeps glasses on better than any of our other boys did at this age.
I love when he sits on my lap and cuddles with me. He sure loves his binkie still. He is going to have a hard time when we cut his binkie. We may have to let him keep it for a while longer. He is just so sweet with he says, "Key where are you??" He calls his binkie and his blanket his key. It is pretty cute!!
Yes he is still in to everything. I was rolling out some pie crust for pot pie and he kept getting up on the counter trying to get into the flour. So I finally just put some in a bowl and moved him to the table so that he could play with his own bowl of flour.
He seemed to really like it! His little smile was so cute!! I feel like as a mom I get caught up in trying to keep things clean and not causing unnecessary messes that I have never let the other boys do something like this. So it was king of fun just letting Kayden have at the flour while I got dinner prepped.
I was trying to get one last picture of Kayden without glasses on. We were going in the next morning to get his glasses and once we picked them up he would rarely have them on.
He is such a funny little guy!!
The next morning when we went to go get his glasses he was pretty nervous around the guy that was giving us his glasses. He just kept saying "done" and looked nervous. I also didn't know what to say or what questions to ask because I have never had to deal with glasses before. So we got these and headed home. He didn't want them on at first. So I just let him hold them and play with them a bit. Then when we got home we were able to show Daddy his glasses. So he put them on for that but then took them off and said he was done again. He got all whiny when I tried to put them back on him. Thankfully, all it took to get him to wear them again was saying that I would get him some candy if he put them on. So he said ok and I put them on him and we went upstairs and got him a piece of candy. After that he kept his glasses on the rest of the day and didn't really have an issue with them after that.
It was kind of crazy watching him looking at things after wearing his glasses for the first time. I have a video of him walking across the hardwood floor. The way he was walking was like he was seeing the lines on the wood for the first time. Either that or it was because the depth perception was really different with his glasses on.
He handled everything at the park just fine with his glasses. He went up and down the slides and even on the swing for a little bit. He would step over the big cracks in the street on the way home like they were huge cracks. It was so interesting watching him with glasses for the first time.
He looks so cute with his glasses on. They do fit his little face pretty well!!
It was crazy seeing the difference in Kayden after wearing his glasses. After he got used to wearing them it was like he was seeing things for the first time. Before he had glasses he could care less to read books. After getting his glasses he was looking at the books and the details like he had never seen them before. It was crazy to see him looking at books like he was looking at them for the first time. Just makes us think that he was seeing things fuzzy for quite a while. Poor little guy!!
Then I took Emmett and Kayden for a walk around the Walmart pond. Emmett didn't have school because one of the teachers tested positive for Covid so his preschool was canceled for the week. So we had to get out of the house and do some fun things or he wold want to play cheetahs all day.
He had fun riding his scooter around and throwing some rocks in the water. After that we walked to Walmart and returned a knee brace I had bought and then walked to Wendy's and grabbed some chicken nuggets for Kayden and soda's for me and Emmett. Then we were off back home to let Kayden nap!
Look at that sweet little face!! He only really took that first day to get used to wearing his glasses. I am wondering if he actually liked them because he realized that he could actually see things.
The mornings are getting warmer and we are getting excited for summer to come!
Me and my mom and the two little kids went on a walk around one of the trails off prospect one morning as well.
Kayden didn't want to go in the stroller for much of the walk. He just wanted to walk like a big boy. There were lots of puddles though and we had to pick him up a few times before he ran right into the muddy water. haha
Kayden LOVES bike rides! He will say, "Ike ride!!" and get all excited!! He was all smiles and bouncing while we went on a little ride.
Yum........ nothing like enjoying some cold ice cream on a hot day!!
Kayden doesn't sit and watch TV often so when he does and he is cuddling with his brother it is a picture moment for sure!!!
These silly boys! They were blowing on these straws so hard to get them to make a konk shell noise! They did it though. It may have cause a few brain cells to die as a result! haha
Time to get the golf simulator out again!
At the park there was a kid with a bunch of trucks in the sand area. Kayden has been obsessed with trucks for just a couple of weeks now. He used to just say "cool car" but after he saw the garbage truck he started wanting to see trucks all the time. Anytime he hears a big truck outside he wants to go see it. He will look at me and say, "Cool tuck" and then say, "See" while holding his arms out for me to pick him up. So when this kid had the trucks Kayden went over to see them. The little boy was nice enough to share with Kayden and he was so happy after that. Kayden didn't care to go on the swings or slides the rest of the time. He just wanted to play with these trucks. I officially knew what we needed to get Kayden for his birthday! haha Sadly, Kayden is at that age right now where I have to keep an eye on him and follow him everywhere. So I don't really get to pay attention to Emmett anymore. It was kind of sad to see Emmett sitting on the swings by himself and I couldn't go play with him because Kayden wouldn't leave the sad area. I guess that has happened with each of the boys though. I remember following Emmett around and not being able to play with Wyatt and same with Ethan. So I guess there is a time for everything. It was still a fun morning out in the warm weather. It was going to be a hot day!!
