Bowling

After going to the Open House and meeting Ethan's teacher we decided to have a fun filled weekend with the boys before Ethan started school. So after Emmett's nap we headed out to go bowling. We have not been bowling in a long time and the boys had been pretty much begging us to go real bowling! haha So we finally did it! It was a hassle with Emmett and we realized it would have been more fun to have gotten a babysitter for Emmett and just taken Ethan and Wyatt but oh well we managed.

Ethan ended up getting 1 or 2 strikes all by himself.

Wyatt our little goof ball. haha Decided after a while to start throwing the ball from as far back as he could. haha

I don't even think he got past the ball return before he threw it. haha Silly kid!!

Once we let Emmett have a turn that is all he wanted to do. He thought it was so much fun. Wyatt had a lot of fun for a while and then he wanted to be done and go play arcade games. Ethan lasted the longest with actually bowling. By the time we were half way through with our second game they had started to loose interest. It was still good to go and just have fun with the boys!! I love just being able to have fun with the kids. If I am not at home I feel like I can be more fun and actually play with the kids. As soon as I am at home it is hard to play because I see everything that I have to do. So it was good to get away from the house and just have some fun together as a family!

Time to meet Ethan's 1st grade Teacher

Well Back to School night finally arrived and we got to take all of the school supplies we had gotten and drop them off in Ethan's new classroom and meet his teacher. Ethan was super excited to meet his teacher and see his new class. He was really excited that he was getting his own desk this year where the top opens and he can put things inside. He is always shy when we go to back to school night and meet his teacher. He doesn't say much of anything to his teacher and just has a shy smile on his face. haha He was also super excited to have lunch at school this year. Still can't believe he is a 1st grader! Where has the time gone!

So excited about his new desk! :-) haha

Look at that handsome boy of mine!!!! He is growing up too fast!!!

Well it was official we had met his 1st grade teacher Mrs. Hause and now he was only a few days away from starting school.

Watching my boys

As Emmett has gotten older the boys have been able to play with him more. Both Ethan and Wyatt have fun playing with Emmett. They like to make him laugh which makes life great. While just hanging out at home and getting stuff done the boys were watching some cartoons and then Wyatt wrapped himself up in the blanket. When Emmett saw him he went over and started pounding on Wyatt laughing because he knew that Wyatt was under the blanket. Then Wyatt let Emmett hide in the blanket with him. Emmett liked it for a little bit and then he was done. haha

Then it was attack Ethan time! haha

The one thing that the boys like the most about the new park (At least what I think they like the most) is that there is a tiny sad area. The boys love to play in the sand with their buckets and I took them to the park that last week before school and that is where they played for most of the time we were there.

Ethan and Wyatt love to play in the front yard. They don't really care about playing in the backyard since they can't ride their bikes and we don't have too much to do in the backyard so they would rather be in the front yard and ride their bikes around. So we have been spending a lot of of time in the front yard. Since Emmett is a walker now I have decided to let Emmett play in the front as well and then I can keep an eye on what Ethan and Wyatt are doing while letting Emmett play. Emmett wants to be just like his brothers. He wants to do anything and everything they are doing. Wyatt brought the scooter out and Emmett wanted to play with it. He was not sure what to do with it and almost fell over with it. haha I think he is still a little too young for scooters! :-)

Picking Corn

The church has a farm about 30 minutes from our house. Every year in August the sweet corn is ready to pick and anyone from the church can go pick as much as they want. So we decided to try it out this year. Every year that the corn is ready to be picked we have not been around to go pick it. So we decided to try it out this year. The boys had a blast helping Dad get the corn. Brandon would pick the corn and hand it to the boys to take and put in a pile somewhere. Ethan and Wyatt had a blast running back through the corn to grab some more corn and then running it back out. haha They worked together so they didn't get lost and they did a good job. I had Emmett in the backpack so I couldn't do much but watch them and help shuck the corn when we were done picking what we wanted. Emmett kept wanting to grab the corn and then when he saw a cat that was hanging out around us he just wanted to see the cat. He thought the cat was so funny especially when it meowed.

What handsome boys!! I love Wyatt's goofing smile he is making. haha It almost like he is in pain! haha

The corn ended up being kind of old so it was not the best corn. I ended up cutting it all up and making it into freezer corn. So hopefully it will last yummy as freezer corn. Not sure that it was worth all the effort when we can get yummy corn for pretty cheap at the store and it is not as old. However, it was the experience of taking the boys to pick corn and they had fun with it.

August 12-15th

Emmett learned how to climb up onto the couch and as the boys were hanging out watching so T.V Emmett climbed up and laid down on Wyatt.

Cheese! :-)

This is Emmett's way of giving hugs. He always leans his head onto someones head or back or whatever part of their body is closest. haha It is pretty cute! :-)

We also had our new park open by our house. It is a lot bigger than the one just down the street from us. So the boys were super excited for this big park to open up. They had a big celebration for it with food, music and a whole bunch of kids playing on the playground. It was pretty fun but super crowded!

Emmett was a handlefull since he just wanted to walk off wherever he wanted to. It didn't help that he was tired so by the time we were done eating and got some ice cream I was super ready to head home and be done with chasing a grumpy kid around.

Ethan grew a green beard while waiting in the car after church one Sunday! Haha

One day I needed to take a shirt back to a store at the mall and I figured it would be fun to get a carmel apple after. The boys were pretty excited! I knew they wouldn't like going to the store but I figured if there was a treat involved afterwards then maybe it would be worth it. It always is for me when I get some yummy food while shopping. :-) I wanted to be a fun mom and just go with it and get the boys some treats and just try to have fun with them before Ethan started school. My intentions are always good but they never seem to be as fun as I had planned. Someone always throws a fit because they didn't get their own or they wanted something different. So I tried very hard to have fun with the boys even though the fits always happen.

They really liked the apple. Even Emmett got to have some and he was pretty excited about it. :-)
After getting an apple we headed out and got drinks at sonic because it was happy hour and we could get something to drink for half price. So I figured that could be fun. Then we got a couple things done and headed home!
Ethan has been into giving me flowers these days. Anytime he sees flowers that he thinks are pretty he picks them and then gives them to me. It is very sweet of him to do. Although I sometimes feel like he only thinks of himself he always surprises me and picks me some flowers every now and then when I least expect it. At least I know he loves me! :-)

A little fun at the museum!

It has been fun having a Museum pass this year. Especially since they opened up the toddler area. Ethan had been wanting to go to the museum and asking me quite a few days. So before starting school I decided to take the boys to the museum. Ethan was so excited to go to the museum and I let Emmett walk around instead of being pushed around in the stroller. The boys had a blast so it was all worth it.

Still crazy to me to think that Ethan will be gone all day long. It will be bitter sweet! So before school started we tried to have some fun with him before he was gone for more of the day than he is home.
