A little more July fun!

We really do enjoy summer. All the swimming, garden vegetable, ice cream and just lots of fun. So before we had planned to go to Idaho we had a little bit more fun just us.

Our Zucchini plant was growing like crazy this year. I had to trim it down over and over again so that our other vegies could get some sun in order to grow.

It always makes me laugh when the boys are so excited to eat some raw green beans. I don't know how they like them raw.

Enjoying some time at Papa and Gigi's house. Our boys love their lounge chairs in the backyard.

Each of our boys have gone through stages where they love this lightning McQueen book that Papa recorded himself reading when Ethan was like 2 years old. I am glad the batteries are still working. It is a classic!

So funny watching Kayden stack our Tupperware. Maybe I should teach him how to do it correctly and then he can organize my cabinet for me. haha
So I filled up the pool for the kids to enjoy in the backyard. They are getting a little too old for this pool in our yard. Mostly because we have 3 pool options to go to. Our pool in this neighborhood, the harmony pool and the wild wing pool. So the kids were not very excited when I told them they had to empty the pool out. Then Ethan was taking the bucket and scooping/tossing the water at the same time. So half of the water was going back in the pool. I told him he had to do it differently and he got all huffy about it. That kid has gotten so much better with his attitude  but, every once in a while his attitude is just ridiculous.

A little bit of park time.

Then I took the kids for some ice cream at Culvers because the kids had earned coupons. Thankfully, the day and time we went the ice cream was buy one get one. So it worked out even better than I thought it was going to.

This kid loves computers. This laptop was left out so Kayden figured it was for him. haha
He even plugged it in himself.
He loves to unplug and plug things in all the time. So this was just funny seeing that he plugged the laptop in so he could mess with it.

One afternoon Gigi took the boys for a few hours to have some Gigi time. They went shopping and got some crafts and got slurpees and had fun at her house for quite a long time. So it was just Kayden and I hanging out and nap time. It was a nice afternoon for everyone. haha

Right before heading off to Idaho we had an office bowling night. The kids were super excited to go bowling. I was not super excited to wrangle Kayden the whole night. He could care less about bowling. He just wants to play at the arcade.

The older 3 had fun bowling and eating pizza and other things. I chased Kayden around a lot and we chatted with some of the staff from broth Guy's office and our office. Then we took off so we could get the kids to bed and finish packing before heading off bright and early the next morning.

A little bit of time just us!

After all of the fun with family in town over the 4th of July and Coya and John visiting we had a little bit of time on our own before making our trip to Idaho. So here are some pictures.

Our boys sure do love eating our fresh green beans from our garden.

We enjoyed heading over and spending time with Papa and Gigi. Kayden wanted Dad to sit on the chair and pretend he was sleeping. haha

Kayden has really started to love listening to our lightning McQueen book that Papa has recorded him reading. He will look at the picture on the front page and say that its, "Papa and Kayden!" even though its Papa and Ethan. haha

I filled up our little pool in our yard to see if the kids would like it. It is kind of hard to enjoy the tiny pool in the yard when we have 3 in ground pools we can go to.

I love watching Kayden stack the tupperware. He does a pretty good job.

The only things the kids did with our little pool was help empty the water. haha I am not sure if I will be using it next year. May be time to get rid of it.

A little bit of park time.

Then and ice cream outing with my boys!

One of the boys left their laptop on the table and Kayden plugged it in so he could use it. haha He is too smart for his own good just like the rest of the boys!

Gigi took the boys out for an afternoon of craft shopping and fun with just her. The boys loved every minute of it!

Then the night before we took off for Idaho we had a bowling outing with all of the staff from both practices for the merger!

The kids always love going bowling. Kayden just tries to escape to the arcade so he can play with the cool cars. So it was a little busy but it was fun. Then we were off back home to get packed up and ready to leave early the next morning.

Coya and John come to visit!

John, Decklyn and Pez arrived on Friday night. So we had a week of playing and having fun with the crew. Brandon had to work each day they were here and John had to do his work online while they were here. So most of the fun us adults were able to have was in the evening and on the weekend. Coya and I took the kids to the wildwing pool quite a few times during the week and the kids had a blast playing with each other. Emmett had the hardest time with Decklyn. Most of the time Emmett and Pez got along. There were only a few times that they would get mad at each other. Ethan had fun trying to act older with Mady around and Kayden loved having baby Blane around. He also LOVED Coya. He wanted her to hold him quite often it was pretty funny.

Nothing better than some good ol' arm wrestling in the evening. haha
While Coya left to go get some work done at Brandon's office I did Mady's hair and taught her how to shave her legs. He was so excited but super nervous too. He was terrified that either she or I would cut her. haha Although, I have to say it was probably the happiest she had been all week. She is definitely more teenager than not these days. haha

We also went mini golfing with the crew.

That was a fun evening. Brandon and I won so that made it even more fun for us! haha
The kids took off and golfed at their own pace which is always way faster than we think they can manage yet they always do.

I also had a marshmallow war with the kiddos in the backyard.

It was fun and sticky and gross. Wyatt got his so slobbery that they were like goop flying at you. After so many of us getting goopified in the face and necks and everywhere else from him I gave all of the rest of us marshmallows and told everyone we all were getting Wyatt. So we all attacked Wyatt while he was out of marshmallow ammo. The kids enjoyed that! haha Then I let Wyatt back in on the fun after I felt we were justified. haha By the end we were all so gross and I made the kids help clean up some of the marshmallows so that we wouldn't bring them in the house by stepping on them and making my floors all sticky. Kayden wanted to try at one point but couldn't quite get the hang of it. Then at one point he was standing by the little picnic table trying to grab a marshmallow. He didn't know he was grabbing an already sucked on one so when it stuck to his finger and he couldn't get it off he started gagging. haha Thankfully I got it off before he threw up. haha His gaging is so funny! I am not sure if I have mentioned it before. If I have oh well because it is totally worth mentioning more than once. If he does not like the texture of something or how it looks he will full on gag. He has gagged at the sight of scrambled eggs, whip cream, yogurt, mandarine orange pulp stuck to his finger, cake frosting and soggy marshmallows. I am sure he has gagged about something else but those are the main ones. It always makes us laugh when he gags. It sounds like he is dry heaving more then just a gag. haha
Anyways, back to the weeks adventures.
I also had to take Ethan and Emmett in for their well checks.
They are both healthy and well and Ethan had to get a shot because he is going to middle school this year.

Movie time!! These kids pound down the popcorn when they are watching movies!

After going to Centerra to go to seas candy and a couple other places we got some samples. When I looked back to check on how Kayden was doing this is the face I saw. He had stuck the entire piece of chocolate in his mouth. I thought for sure he was going to gag. Must have been too tasty to gag on.

We also had a mini birthday party for Ethan. We invited a few friends to come to the wildwing pool and had cupcakes and let them play for a while. Sadly, only Connor Ortiz was able to make it. Ethan was happy that he at least had one friend along with his cousins and brothers there. Plus Papa and Gigi came too so that was fun.

After swimming for a while we headed back home and invited my parents to come eat dinner with us.
Then once the kids were in bed all of us adults took off to go get ice cream at kilwins! We told the 2 older kids that we were going to be gone for a little bit and Mady stayed up and waited for us to get back. We invited my parents over a few times that week to come play cards with us. There were lots of laughs playing cards with this group. haha

The last big thing we did was go to Top Golf!
The staff were being weird that day and we ended up having to pay for the second booth. Which normally does not happen with being platinum members. So it was a little more expensive than we had anticipated since we had to pay for the 1 booth and we got some food. It wasn't as expensive as it would have been if we had to pay for both and since we were splitting the bill between us and John and Coya it wasn't too bad. Still a pricey outing.

Plus the kids were on one. They were all complaining about how hungry they were and whinning about things. Emmett was super grumpy and Kayden was trying to escape every second he could and wouldn't be happy with just drinking water. So in order to keep Kayden happy I let him drink some of my soda. We were glad to be done when we were because of all the attitude coming from the kids. Which always happens when cousins are together. They never get enough sleep and then are grumpier than they normally would be. It was still fun and we ended our outing with something even better.

Thats right.... we drove an extra 30 minutes away to get some delicious IN N OUT and it was totally worth it!! haha The rest of the day was spent going to the pool and hanging out. That Sunday the crew left and it was just our family again. We had had so much extended family time this summer that we were excited to have a little bit of just our family time.
