After 6 months (which was 3 months longer than anticipated) our boys finally filled their jar for the 6th time and earned their trampoline. So the Saturday after Brandon went down and got the trampoline we spent the morning getting chores done while Brandon put the trampoline together. I told the boys that if they got all of their chores done I would give each of them a hand full of rocks so they could get their jar filled up all the way. If they didn't get it filled up all the way they wouldn't be able to jump on the trampoline that their Dad had just put together. Did that motivate them? Nope!! It just made Ethan mad. Ethan started to yell at me that I didn't want him to ever jump on the trampoline and that it wasn't fare and all this junk. So after complaining and a few hours they finally got their chores done and I gave them their handfuls and they earned their tampoline. They were so excited to go jump on it.
The boys love their trampoline and I am glad that they now have something that they want to do in our backyard. Emmett loves jumping on it as well and is getting really good at it. When they first started jumping on it Ethan kept trying to keep Emmett off the trampoline saying that it was his and Wyatt's because Emmett didn't earn it. I put that idea to rest very quickly. Plus, I told him that Emmett is 2 and that he also did help them earn the trampoline by helping unload the dishwasher each time and other little things. Now they let Emmett play on the trampoline with them. However, they do jump pretty hard when he is on it so Emmett has had to get used to that. I keep telling them to be softer when he is on with them but they don't seem to like to listen. Thankfully for the most part Emmett enjoys being bounced around! haha
