On December 3rd just after lunch we had a girl from another ward come and paint our faces and then made our way down to Denver. We got down to Denver with just the right amount of time to check into our hotel room and walk over to the Pepsi center for the boys to participate in a Jr. Nuggets basketball clinic. Because the boys played in the windsor basketball league we got an email about the boys being able to participate in a clinic where some former Denver Nuggets players would be teaching them some basketball things and playing with them. We had already bought our tickets for the game when I got the email but thankfully I emailed the lady about it and she emailed me the info and links I needed to register the boys so they could participate. It was seriously so fun for the boys! So we got to the Pepsi center and got to watch Ethan and Wyatt have a little basketball practice with some former Denver Nuggets players.
First on our list for the evening was getting our faces painted. A girl from the first ward we were in here in Colorado does face painting so we paid her to come paint our faces for the game.
Our faces looked so great!! I couldn't get enough of how cute our boys looked! Now we were officially ready to go to the game! :-)
Walking into the basketball court!! Brandon was like a little boy walking into the court. He was so excited! haha
The boys could hardly wait to go play some basketball!
The boys played and ran hard and had so much fun. It was cute to watch them play out on the court with these guys that were so much bigger than they are. It was totally worth it to get ahold of the lady and get this chance for the boys to be a part of this clinic.
Wyatt also won a basketball for being so happy and such a good team player. They did a littler scrimage and every time Wyatt's team made a basket he would do his little happy dance and made the Nuggets players bust up laughing. It was so cute! haha They were giving out 3 basketballs and Wyatt got one! He was STOKED!
Naturally, Ethan wanted his turn taking a picture with the ball. haha
Look at these cuties!!! They are so stinking cute. I love that they put their arms around each other. I didn't tell them to do it, I just told them to get closer. They boys are the best of buds!!
After the clinic we walked to the Cheescake Factory for some dinner. The boys were so thirsty and tired from playing basketball for an hour that they started to whine on our walk as we got closer to the restaurant. However, we made it and they were very happy to eat some yummy food. Then it was time to head back to the Pepsi center for the game.
We had so much fun being goofy and running around with them.
Game Time!!
I seriously can't get enough of my little family!!! I love these guys so much!!
Nothing better than taking goofy pictures during a basketball game to occupy this 2 year olds time. haha
We enjoyed everything we could during the game. Even got some cotton candy to make the night even better!
The game was so much fun! The boys were loving it and getting into yelling "Defense" and "Go Nuggets Go" it was super cute. Even Emmett did a good job being up late and sitting in the chairs watching the game.
By the second half Emmett was getting tired and found my phone and wanted to play a game. So I let him play on my phone for almost the rest of the game. Once the game was over we headed to the hotel to wash off face paint and go to bed.
It was 10:30 by the time we were all ready for bed and the kids were bouncing all over the place. Literally, jumping from one bed to the other and would not calm down. It took a while but we finally got them to lay down.
Emmett layed in bed with Wyatt and Ethan and when I tried to get him out of bed Wyatt said, " Emmett wants to sleep with me because he is scared of the dark." We decided to let them try it out because they looked so cute all together. It didn't last very long because Emmett kept sitting up and looking at stuff and being loud. So we split them up and put Emmett in his pack n play.
The next morning we woke up and got some breakfast before getting showered and ready for the day. We then headed out to go to a mall that had a kiehls store that I wanted to go to. At first we thought we would be able to meet up with David and Hayley again but then changed our mind on what mall we were going to go to. So we didn't get to meet up with them but we did go and walk around a mall for a little while and grabbed some lunch and then made our trek home.
While we were at the mall I had a little shopping to do while Brandon took the kids to get some lunch and play at the little play area. When I got there Brandon said that the boys were being so cute together. They were helping each other out and looking out for Emmett and playing so well together. I love it when they are looking out for each other and playing well together. The drive home was pretty quiet and the kids all fell asleep thank goodness. It was a full and eventful trip with so many fun memories! It was totally worth every penny we spent! :-)
