Thanksgiving in Nebraska

For Thanksgiving this year we headed to Lincoln Nebraska to spend with Brandon's family. It was basically a family reunion minus John. Ty and Vandy were going to be moving to Colorado Springs and we figured we would go out and see the family and Jason and Devins new little guy and help Ty and Vandy pack and move. So we headed out Tuesday night before Thanksgiving and stayed in a hotel so that we could leave right after Brandon got off work and go swimming with the kids.

The kids were so excited to go swimming that night. So we drove 2 hours that night and swam and then went to bed and drove the rest of the way the next morning.

Here is my prego tummy at 14 weeks!

My Mountain Man! haha This is probably the hairiest Brandon has ever gotten!

Park time!! Getting out of the house and going to the park is a very important thing to do when there are so many people in such a tiny house. The kids go a little stir crazy!

We also went and saw the new "Wreck it Ralph" movie with the whole crew!

This was the face Emmett gave me when I told him to smile! haha What a nut!

It was a cute movie!! The kids had fun except for the younger ones who always have a hard time sitting through movies. Emmett did ok. He just kept climbing on Brandon and wanting to get down and eat more bubble gum. He is over 3 and yet still does not handle the movie theatre very well. Someday he will be better! haha

Although Ty and Vandy were needing to pack up and move out of their house they still were crazy enough to host everyone for Thanksgiving. That and Vandy told the kids they could do gingerbread (Graham cracker) houses.

So despite all the chaos the kids got to design their own houses and eat some candy. Then.... we threw it all away!! haha The day after Thanksgiving everyone left but us and Brandon's parents. Then the work began. We had a lot to pack up to get them ready to move on Saturday morning. So we set to work packing up boxes. Thankfully I felt pretty good that day so I could help because there was a lot to do. After working hard Friday we grabbed dinner out since we didn't have anything to cook on and didn't want to make more leftovers. Saturday we got up and finished packing and got to work cleaning up the house. I spent about half a day cleaning their kitchen. Starting with the fridge and moving onto cabinets and counters and everything. The floors had to be vacuumed and the truck had to be loaded. Thankfully some of their ward came to help pack up the truck. We were able to get done packing and cleaning a little before lunch time. They said Bye to their Nebraska home and we started the drive to Colorado Springs. We decided to drive down to Colorado Springs with them and help them unpack some of their truck. We figured Brandon's Dad wouldn't be able to do too much on his own with Tyrel so Brandon wanted to help. So we drove down with them and helped them unpack the truck in their rental home in Colorado Springs.
Emmett was super excited that Dad let him get cotton candy for his treat at the gas station! haha

The kids were excited to see their cousins new temporary house and to play with them a little bit longer. By the time we go to their place the kids were super done with being in the car. I left with Vandy to get pizza and when I got back Emmett was asleep on the floor in some blankets. He never woke up to eat any dinner. The kid was so tired!! I was surprised that he slept all night. He never ate dinner, just fell asleep and stayed asleep. The other kids sat on the floor and played on phones of ipads or whatever and ate some pizza. As soon as we found the beds we sent them to bed. It was a really long day!! It was good that we could help them move into their rental but man it was a busy day. Thanksgiving was not a break it was work! We had one day of break and games and then got to work. We were ready for a vacation after that that is for sure!! haha At least the kids had fun and we were able to help them out with their move.
