COVID 19

So in January we started hearing about this virus that was going crazy in Wuhan China. As soon as we started seeing news articles about it I knew it was going to make its way over here to the US. We started hearing about how tons of people were being hospitalized and that China was shutting down everything. It became a topic of discusion quite often between me and Brandon and even Brandon and Travis at work. We started talking about how we should have a stock pile of masks at home and gloves and we should make sure that our food storage was stock piled. Brandon even bought another emergency food barrel since we have another member of our family. We had started to prepare for this virus to hit the United States and we were super glad when it finally did. I was just hoping that it wasn't going to hit until after Brandon and I got home from our trip to St. Lucia. This was a virus that we didn't know much about and I was mostly worried about how it would affect my little ones. Kayden is at the age were a lot of ilnesses are harder on his body because he is so little. So I was getting nervous about him getting it. So even when Brandon and I flew to St. Lucia we were already starting to see some people wearing masks at the airport. I was a little nervous about flying because I figured that is the worst place to be with a virus starting to travel. I didn't want to get it and bring it home to our boys. Luckily, the virus really wasn't here yet. Then as we were in St. Lucia we read more and more news articles of the virus showing in the states. It was happening and no one new much about it except that people were dying from it in China and that hospitals were being over run with people. It was not a fun thing to read about. As we got home and had Kayden's well check I mentioned to the doc that we had just gotten back from a trip and he said, "Perfect timing to get away before the Coronovirus starts to really hit." I couldn't agree more. Then I asked him about my concerns of my kiddos getting it. He said that children were not seeming to get really sick. He said that the younger the kids the more it seemed like a common cold. It was mostly affecting older adults in their late 60's. That made me feel a little better and not feel so worried. I still didn't want to get it or Brandon to get it and risk it affecting our kids differently. But, at least I wasn't super scared that it would affect my kids in a horrible way. From that point on as their began to be more and more cases in the United States people started to go crazy at the stores. Everyone was stocking up on toilet paper and canned goods. You couldn't find toilet paper at the stores. Grocery stores started to have empty shelves where canned goods used to be. It was so crazy to see people going bonkers. There were lines outside of stores for people trying to get in to buy mainly toilet paper and canned food. We were so glad that we had bought our toilet paper before everyone went bonkers. That and since we had been stocking up on our food storage for a while we had a ton of canned goods that we used on a regular basis. As things progressed with more cases we started to hear rumors of school extending their spring break another week. They were just rumors at first. Then they became reality. As spring break began we got and email from the school district saying that they were extending spring break an extra week. They would keep us updated as the health crisis kept unfolding. So we were planning on taking a week of spring break in Idaho and then having to start remote learning at home. Even at work Brandon was starting to see his schedule fall apart. People were canceling right and left. So he ended up just rescheduling people for later or having Travis see his easy patients and we decided to take off to Idaho a day or two earlier than planned. The one thing that we can say that has come from this Coronovirus are all of the funny memes. Here are a couple of them.
