The rest of May was filled with playing in the backyard, pickle ball, watching some cartoons and trying to keep the boys doing their reading each day. We were also getting ready for Papa and Gigi to come and visit!
Brandon set up a little watering system for our garden. Sadly, our garden didn't grow much this year. The only thing we have that grew successfully was our zucchini. So all of that hard work seems to be for nothing. Bummer!!
We spent a lot of time outside in our backyard. Kayden loves his little water table so we spend a lot of time playing with that. The older boys play in the pool and sprinklers a lot as well.
Poor Brandon. This is what he has to wear now that he is back to work. With this pandemic still going on he has to wear all of this protective gear at work. It is good that he has been back to work this month but we sure do miss having him around all the time. Plus it isn't super nice for him to have to wear all of this stuff each day. He says he get super hot and he is just exhausted by the time he gets home from work.
When Brandon took the kids out golfing Emmett didn't seem to care about the golfing part. He just wanted to catch moths. haha He has become quite the bug catcher and fanatic.
What a cutie in his Captain America outfit! I just love this little tank top on Kayden. SO.. cute!!
One afternoon while Kayden was napping Brandon and I put a movie on for the kids and took off to go play some pickle ball. After playing for a bit we went a grabbed some McDonalds for lunch. We got Kayden a burger as well and I cut some pieces up for him. Ya he didn't want anything to do with the pieces. So I gave him the whole hamburger. Then he was happy about it and started to try and eat it. Such a silly little boy. He just wants to be a big boy like his brothers!
Kayden LOVES the dishwasher. Anytime it is open he has to crawl over to it. So while the boys were unloading it he had to join in on the fun. haha He gets so mad if you take him away from it while it is open.
Just some summer relaxing.
I also let Kayden try to feed himself yogurt. He really has not been a huge fan of yogurt. The last few times I have tried giving it to him he just spits it out. So I thought maybe he would like to feed it to himself. Ya he basically played in it. I got him to eat some of it. I had to let him hold the spoon and then direct the spoon to his mouth. He enjoyed it but it sure was messy.
Emmett also had his preschool graduation celebration May 22nd.
They had to do it online since we couldn't meet together in person. Even with us being home and Emmett just performing in front of us he was still too nervous to sing the songs and do the dance moves for just us. haha He stood there in front of us and mouthed a couple of words and then got shy and laid on my lap. He truly is our most shy kid! It will be good for him to do preschool again.
The boys had fun one afternoon pushing Kayden around in the Tonka truck. He seemed to enjoy it.
Kayden also started to try walking around pushing this lawn mower around the basement.
I just love how happy he is when he does it. It is so cute to watch him try to walk across the basement holding onto this toy. He only walks straight for a few steps and then starts to turn as he walks. I have to straighten him out quite often. haha He is doing so good with it though and it is fun to watch.
Just some more fun in the backyard!
He is getting so big!!
Brandon got on the trampoline to help the boys do some flips. They LOVED it!!!
Then of course some more pickle ball. That has been so much fun during this pandemic. I am glad we are sporty. It has made all the difference while we can't go out and do a bunch of things together. We have at least been able to golf and play pickle ball. That has been a fun escape from our house.
Poor Kayden just sits in his stroller while we play. Im just glad that he stays happy for the most part. We give him snacks and sometimes have to have one of the kids push him around for a bit but, he really does a great job sitting in his stroller for an hour while we play.
In our neighborhood there is a dirt hill. Basically the dirt from the other houses near by. Someone created a bike path and the kids have gone out there a couple of times with Brandon to ride around the dirt. They love doing it!
I don't let them go by themselves so they have to wait till Brandon is home and wants to go with them.
We also decided to do some tin foil dinners one evening.
Wyatt made himself a mask to protect himself from all the smoke. haha
Then of course we had to roast marshmallows and make some s'mores which the kids were thrilled about.
Oh our little Kayden!! haha He is the most flexible out of all our kids. He will stick his feet up out of the stroller like this all the time. It's funny that he thinks it is comfortable. Oh and by the way that tray on the stroller was a pain to get a hold of. We ordered 2 trays that said they would fit our stroller and they were both for a different type of stroller in the same brand. We finally had to order the tray straight from the company website. It was a total pain. I have LOVED this stroller since we bought it and the tray has been the only pain thankfully. I am just glad that we finally have a tray to put snacks on when we use it.
This little cutie is getting so close to walking. The night before this picture was taken Kayden took 4 steps on his own. I was upstairs when he did it so I didn't see it happen but Ethan came upstairs and told me about it. He is seriously such a joy in our family!! Look at that cute little boy!!
Brandon and I had to get some corn hole practice in before my parents came out.
Sunday morning May 31st my parents were flying in. That morning we got all ready for church and had our "Church at Home" before they arrived so that we could just play with them by the time they got here. The kids were so excited they could hardly wait!!
