September 1st we took off bright and early to Utah. We decided to stay the night at my sister Ashley's house to break up the drive and to be able to hangout with her and Matt and Harvey. We were excited to be able to see them. It had been quite a while since we had seen them.
We were all excited to get away for a little trip and to see some family. The kids did really good on the drive there. Kayden did much better than he had the last time we had made our way to Idaho. So that was nice.
We made it in time for some lunch at IN N OUT which even the boys were really excited for. Wyatt said that IN N OUT is his favorite. Thats my boy!!!! haha
Then we made it to Ashley's house and the kids had fun looking at all of the cool toys that Harvey had that they hand't seen before.
Then we spent some time running around outside in their backyard with Harvey.
Emmett had fun running up and down the hill with Harvey.
Then their neighbors had set up a huge slip n slide and Matt said that their neighbor told him we could join them. The kids were stoked!!
They had a blast on that slip n slide. I felt a little hesitant because it was going to be around a bunch of kids and we had not been around other people for months. Utah seems very relaxed with everything during this pandemic. So it was weird having people act like things were normal. The kids had fun though and it was fun to watch them cruise down the hill.
Kayden LOVES to push brooms around so when he found their broom he was super excited. Naturally, Harvey had to join in the fun and they both swept the floor together for a little bit.
After a terrible nights sleep the kids all woke up which means we woke up. haha Can't be mad at a cute happy face like this though!
We spent the morning with Matt and the kids while Ashley went to get some exercise. The kids relaxed and watched some cartoons and we had some breakfast before playing outside for a bit.
Look at that cutie pie!! Kayden is such a happy little guy and loves to see himself in the camera on my phone.
And second....
Some Dominican Food!! Brandon found a Dominican restaurant that looked legit so we drove to it and got some food for lunch.
It was really tasty!! Even the kids liked it including Kayden.
After our stomachs were full of soda and food we got back on the road to finish our trip to St. George.
Kayden really wanted my Swig cup. It was all gone so I decided to let him have it. He didn't seem to care that there was not anything in it. He just wanted to play with the straw and cup. haha It kept him happy for a while for sure.
St. George!!
We finally arrived to our destination in St. George and got things all unpacked. The kids really wanted to go swimming but we needed to go to the store and get food figured out and other things. Plus the pool was super busy so we told the kids we would have to wait till the next day. They were all super bummed. Little did they know that we would be getting soo much pool time in the next few days that they would get rashes. haha
The kids were so excited to play with their cousins. Tyrel and Vandy were there as well as Mike and Lee. Coya and John were not getting there until Sunday sometime.
So Sunday morning the kids could hardly wait to get to the pool. So we ate breakfast and then got everyone ready and went to the pool.
It was a really awesome pool! It had a lazy river, hot tub and this cool kid water park area. The kids all had a blast! Brandon took Kayden down the racing slide and he absolutely loved it. He got hammered with water and yet he still wanted to go again and again. It was so funny to watch how excited he was about that slide.
After a couple of hours at the pool we headed back to the house to have some lunch and put Kayden down for a nap.
Then Grandma had prepared a Sunday lesson. So we had a little lesson which the kids all enjoyed.
The lesson included some games and the kids had a blast. Then it was back to playing and running around.
So many people in one house!! haha it is always fun and chaos with all of these people together. Lots of mouths to feed! haha
Once John and Coya arrived their kids wanted to go swimming too so we went back to the pool for a while again.
John just being John! haha
These cute cousins were having a blast going down the slides over and over again.
Emmett does not like the buckets dumping on him. So he would wait at the bottom of the stairs until it dropped and then run to the slide.
Cute little Piper!
Brandon and I got up Monday morning to go running with his Mom. After we ran we played some pickle ball before heading home for some breakfast!
After breakfast the kids were all ready to head back over to the pool.
Thankfully, the mornings were not very busy at the pool. The kids were itching to go every morning before they had even eaten breakfast. So by the time the pool was open we were all ready and ready to heard over. It was not super hot in the morning but it was definitely warm enough.
After swimming for a bit we all headed to get some lunch at IN N OUT.
It was super yummy and it was fun to sit outside and eat it there. I always enjoy being able to eat at the restaurants. After lunch the men took the kids home and us women headed off to get grocery shopping done.
Then we went to check out the second pool in the area. The pool right outside the condo had all the slides and the lazy river. The second pool had a deeper pool with a rockslide and a waterfall that you could jump off of and another pool just to hangout in and a hot tub. It was a fun pool too just not as fun as the pool near the condo. The kids really liked it though. Kayden not as much because he just wanted to be free to go wherever he wanted and wasn't happy in a floaty.
I think it was Wednesday morning that Brandon and I took the kids and Grandma and Grandpa to a trail head just a few minutes down the road. We wanted to go hiking more than once and figured we would just try out an area that was super close. It was pretty cool and we ended up deciding to just use that area for the big family hike. We had originally planned on going to snow canyon but that would have made for a long morning. It would have been a 45 minute drive just to hike around for a little while and then have to drive back. So this little hiking trail worked out way better.
I sure do love my cute little family!
Fun with the Grandparents.
We had fun exploring for a little bit and found a nice place for a big family picture. Then we headed back to the condo to get ready to go swimming again. haha
Nothing better than popsicles on a hot day!
Grandma at it again with the games. haha The kids LOVED the games she had planned. There were some good laughs. It was a great time!
Never a trip where the Dentist isn't needed!! haha Kemry's bracket on her braces came loose and was pocking her. So Brandon came to the rescue and fixed it so it wouldn't hurt her anymore.
These stairs were scary having a little 1 year old around. Which of coarse Kayden kept wanting to climb them.
It was so nice having this hot tub in the backyard. When we were done with swimming at the pool we sometimes would go sit in the hot tub back at the condo. It was so nice to just sit and relax!!
During lunch one afternoon Emmett and Pezzy decided that it would be more fun to eat lunch under the table outside than to sit on the chairs and eat at the table. haha At least they were having fun!!
The pool had a snack shack that sold hawiian shaved ice!! We were all over that!! Kayden loved it!! haha
I should say, all of the boys loved it!! haha Not as good as we have had from Cali or the snow shacks in Idaho but it was still tasty!!
Me hanging out with almost all of the kiddos in the hot tub. haha I tried to teach them how to shoot each other with water with their hands like my Dad had taught me when I was younger. They were loving it! haha
Lots of game time!!
Family Hiking Day
Thursday we got ready, ate breakfast and then headed off to go hiking for a little while and take a family picture.
It was a fun morning exploring the red rocks. Out of all the kiddos only a couple of them fell and got little scrapes on their legs. So we count that as a success.
We wanted to go so we brought Grandma with us to get her some custard too.
It was fun going to get custard just our little family and Grandma. The kid enjoyed it!
And of coarse more pool time! haha
Kayden absolutely LOVED these slides!!! It was super cute to watch him giggle and give a huge smile going down those slides!!
We also got to celebrate Tate's birthday all together.
We finished off the fun week with some birthday cake to celebrate Tate and some food at some place that was not very good. haha
Everyone relaxing after another busy day in the sun. That evening we got all packed up and ready to take off back home the next morning. We were all kind of tired of all the pool time and I think the kids were ready to get home. It sure was a fun week though and I enjoyed sitting on the back patio in the heat just relaxing. It got pretty chilly in the house with the air on and being in wet swimsuits so I enjoyed going out on the patio and relaxing in the heat every once in a while. haha
We got up bright and early and as we were trying we could see the north star. It was super bright!! Kind of cool!
As we got closer to Grand Junction to stop for lunch we could see these massive clouds in the distance. After getting a little closer I could tell that they were not clouds. It was smoke. I told Brandon that it must be a big fire if we could see it from as far away as we were. Sure enough it was a huge wildfire. As we arrived in Grand Junction you could see all the smoke laying over the city. Pretty crazy!! It smelled like a campfire. Never the less, we still stopped and got out of the car at a park to let the kids play and get their wiggles out for a little bit before heading back on the road.
The kids had a lot of fun playing at this park. It was a pretty nice park. Plus, our boys had not been to a park since this whole Pandemic hit with Covid. So they were pretty stoked to be able to play at a park. We just made sure to put hand sanitizer on their hands once we were done. haha
After playing for a while we headed out to grab lunch and get back on the road and finally made it home.
It was such a fun week. We ate way too much junk food, had lots of Swig and ice cream, swam so much all the kids were getting rashes, and played hard. Lots of games were played and lots of laugher was had. Brandon and I also got out a couple of mornings and played pickle ball. We also went while Kayden was napping in the afternoon to play with Lee and whoever else wanted to play. Even though it was over 100 degrees in the afternoon when we played it was a blast!! It was such a fun week and we were so glad that it all worked out!!
Now back to reality!
