Summer is always so great! I love the summer time because we can be outside as much as possible. We can go swimming, go on bike rides and barbecue and just have a bunch of fun. This summer has been great so far. The boys love to go to the pool, ride bikes, play in the basement and build things with legos or whatever I give them. It has been fun and yet crazy at the same time. I feel like I have been cleaning a ton lately and that has been taking a lot of my time. I need to just forget about the cleaning and enjoy the summer with my boys! I will work on that! So here are some pictures of our fun in the sun!
We love going to Firehouse subs and Emmett actually ate a good amount of lunch meant and pickle and bread! So he really likes it to. Win Win for us! :-)
Such cutie!
This next section of photos is a pinterest success. I found this idea of giving the kids grapes and toothpicks and letting them build things. The boys absolutely loved it! They kept asking for more grapes.
Ethan got pretty creative and ended up helping Wyatt because Wyatt wanted his to look like Ethans! haha It was such a good idea. Plus they got to eat all the yummy grapes after building with them!
We sure do love the pool! I have braved going to the pool just me and the boys and it has worked out so far. Emmett does not like any of his floaters so I end up having to just hold him the whole time. The boys do great with their floaties on and go on the slide practically non stop. One time I went and I had a little scare. I normally watch the boys like a hawk as they come down the slide in case they need some help. However, at one point I was talking with some friends and didnt know that Wyatt had come down the slide. He had been doing awesome with grabbing onto the rope when he got down and pulling himself to the side of the pool. However, this one time I was talking with some friends and all of a sudden my friends starts saying, "He's Stuck!! He's Stuck!! Grab him!!!!" I turn around looking for what she is talking about and see Wyatt caught in the rope. his neck was on the rope and the current from the pool was pushing him into the rope so he couldn't get free. He looked like he was crying and he was spitting out water. I was holding Emmett and I started off as fast as I could while holding Emmett in my arms to get over to Wyatt and get the rope off his neck and save him. I could have gotten there so much faster if Emmett had been in his floaty! Oh well! I got there as quick as I could and pulled him off the rope. He started crying and holding onto me and then Emmett started crying because he is sympathy crier too. One of my other friends took Emmett so I could just help with Wyatt and calm him down. After that Wyatt was done swimming and wanted to go home and watch TV. Watching TV is Wyatts fall back if he gets hurt or super tired! Which brings me to my next picture...
After asking me and asking me to watch tv one day he finally went silent. I came over to see what he was doing and he was fast asleep on the blanket on the floor! haha
This is just something that Ethan wrote in school and I wanted to post it because it is cute!! :-)
Ethan is really enjoying baseball. During his first baseball game it rained on us pretty hard. About 10 minutes before the game was supposed to be over they finally canceled the game because they heard thunder. We were kind of wishing they had canceled it earlier when we were all getting soaked! haha
For FHE one night we decided to make a care package for Mady. She had just gotten her tonsils out and was pretty sad and sore. So we thought it would be fun for the boys to pick our a stuffed animal and some candy and right or color little cards or pictures for her. The boys loved coloring pictures for her an Ethan wrote her a little note on his. It was a good and yet simple FHE! :-)
This is one it looks like taking the boys to the pool. I normally take Emmett in his stroller so that I have somewhere to put some food for him to eat while we are there. Then the boys take the wagon with all of the towels and floaties in it. haha
Emmett tore his frenum one evening. He made a tiny fuss and that was it so we didn't even know it had happened until we saw blood coming out of his mouth. He was still all smiles though!
I have not put Emmett in the wagon really yet because I don't want him to fall out. I decided to try it one day and he had fun just sitting in the wagon while I pulled him around for a little bit!
Although we have to deal with nap times and grumpy kids and a messy house, summer is still going pretty well. Oh, and I have gotten the boys to empty the dishwasher anytime it needs to be emptied. It is super nice to not have to empty the dishwasher and load it. So I have been trying to get the boys to do more work around the house and they have been doing a pretty good job! :-)
