Monday morning we packed up all the cars and got ready to head down to the beach where we would be staying for 6 days. There was a lot to pack and we couldn't check into the house until 4 that afternoon. So we got all packed and then decided to head down so that we could find a parking spot and hang at the beach a little bit before checking in and then grabbing dinner. The lady that cleaned the house was there when we got there at 4. She was still cleaning so we just waited outside. We arrived at around 3:30 so we just waited around outside the house while she finished. She was a talker and kept chatting with us which seemed to take her a lot longer to clean then it was supposed to. We didn't get to check in until 5. So we just hung out at the house waiting. The kids got a little bored and luckily we were right on the boardwalk so if I remember correctly the kids road around on scooters while we waited. It was really nice being on the boardwalk. The kids could just ride on their scooters as much as they wanted which was great.
Hanging out with the babies!! :-)
Kayden had a blowout while we waited. So we had to get some clothes out for him and change him in the house while she was still cleaning. Which brought on more conversation from the nice lady cleaning. I don't blame her for wanting to chat. She was the only one cleaning the entire house. So I would want to chat with people too. haha
Fun with GG waiting to put all of our stuff in the house before grabbing dinner. The kids were getting hungry and so were we.
We finally got in the house and were able to explore and choose what rooms people were staying in. The view from the patio up top was really cool. The kids loved it. Especially in the evenings when the sun was setting it looked really pretty. It was crazy how being as far away from the water that we were we could hear the waves so well.
Time to head to dinner. We got everything in the house and then took off to Ruby's on the pier.
The kids were given these cute little cardboard cars to build while we waited for our food. It took a while to just get seated. The restaurant was not very big and didn't have really any seating inside. So we had to wait for an table outside and it was really busy. When we were finally seated the kids were hungry and wanting to go run around and explore. So we ate some dinner and then enjoyed walking back to the house as the sun set over the horizon. It got pretty chilly pretty quickly and we didn't bring any of the kids jackets because we didn't plan to be out at dinner until 8:30.
So pretty!!
The kids were having fun walking on the pier and seeing people catch some fish. One guy caught a fish while we were waiting to be seated at dinner. The boys were so excited that he had caught a little fish until the guy cut the fishes head off. haha Emmett turned to me and said, "That guy is mean! He killed the baby fish!" haha All of the boys were sad for that tiny fish! haha
The next morning Emmett couldn't wait to get out to see the waves. He LOVED looking at the waves from far away. He didn't want to get anywhere near them but he thought they were super cool to watch and listen to.
Breakfast on the upper deck!
Off to the beach for the first full day at the beach. The boys were having so much fun running from the waves. The waves were HUGE and so they didn't get to really get in the water. I don't think I have been at the beach with big waves like that in a really long time. So I was glad that the kids didn't want to get in the water. The big waves made me nervous for them to go in the water very far. So I told them to just stay on the shoreline. They were ok with that because the waves were pretty scary. They had more fun running from the waves anyways. haha
I hungout with Kayden in the wrap so he could sleep and enjoyed watching the boys play.
Emmett wouldn't get very close to the waves. He didn't even want the water to touch his feet. haha He had more fun looking for seashells and watching the waves from a far.
Ethan, Wyatt and Daddy having fun and then.....
there was Emmett. haha
I think this is about how close Emmett would get to the water. He wouldn't even go were the sand was slightly wet. If it had gotten wet 30 minutes ago he didn't want to touch that sand. haha
Such a silly kiddo!! Really I was totally fine with him not wanting to get close. There were lots of older kids that were getting hammered by those waves and would come up out of the water crying with their knees bleeding. Even some older big men were getting taken down by the massive waves. So I was good with my kids not wanting to go in the water.
This half shelter that we brought was so nice. It kept the sun off of Kayden and blocked some of the wind so that Kayden could sleep. He actually took the best nap he had taken in a while in that little shelter. With the sound of the saves acting as white noise he took a nice long nap. Then I had to post up in the shelter to feed him so that he didn't keep gasping from the breeze.
Its not a successful time at the beach without burring yourself in the sand.
Harvey loved playing at the beach and trying to eat the sand. haha
This was also a favorite of the boys. Digging their feet in the sand and then waiting for the water to rush over their feet.
Cousins!!! 😃 They had so much fun together!
haha I love how this picture looks like Brandon is trying to convince Emmett to come a little closer. haha
Such a little cutie sleeping away in the half shelter.
So much fun playing in the sand near the water. haha
Ethan got taken down by the water. haha Ya...... all sandy!! haha
So nice enjoying family at such a nice spot.
Ethan wanted to hold both of the baby boys! haha Harvey is just a little bigger than Kayden! haha
Papa and Ryan making silly faces.
What else do you do at a beach house when you are not playing in the water. You go find yummy treats. The area we were at was really cool. There were shops all over to go watch around and eat at and shop at and yummy goodies all over too. So we walked just down the boardwalk a little ways and got some shaved ice. Brandon decided to let the kids get their own. haha I think they were the size of their heads. haha
They were sure excited to have their own though. Did they finish them? Nope! haha
Giving Harvey a taste of some yummy soft served.
The boys were smitten with Harvey. They liked making him smile and laugh.
Kayden didn't sleep very good that week. It was so hot and there was no AC in the house. So when we were getting ready to go to sleep at night we just had to open the windows and home it cooled things down. With the fans and the windows open it still didn't cool down much until morning. I brought Kayden into bed with us in the mornings so he would go back to sleep and he would snuggle up to my face and fall back to sleep for a little longer. I just love watching this little baby sleep.
Walking around the boardwalk with this awesome wagon. I am convinced that I want one. haha
Perfect picture! Especially since Harvey loves the song "Baby Shark" Anytime anyone sings it he is all smiles!!!
I love this picture!! haha Wyatt's face is priceless!! haha
Oddly enough we had a lot of fun comparing eyes with each other that week. Brandon and I were trying to figure out what color Kayden's eyes will be. So we started thinking that maybe they would be hazel. So we started researching eye color and then looked and compared each others eye colors. haha It was fun seeing the differences in brown eyes and the green and blue eyes in our family.
Fire pit time!! While we waited for the sun to go down we just enjoyed playing on the sand!
It was getting pretty chilly pretty fast so I was trying my best to keep Kayden covered up and allow him to sleep outside so I could enjoy being with everyone.
Time for smore's
The smore's pro at work!
Yum!!!!
Sweet little boy fell asleep in his carseat/stroller. It kept him warmer and sheltered from the wind.
It was a great end to the day. This was a few days into our stay. David and Hayles didn't get there until Tuesday afternoon and Tif and her kids came Tuesday morning. Ryan had come down with a fever that morning and so she didn't want to bring them yet. Thankfully her fever left and they came out Tuesday morning. So by Wednesday we were all there and in full fun swing. The kids got to bed so late every night while we were there. We brought some Melatonin so we could give it to the kids at bed time so they would actually go to sleep. They were always so wound up by bed time and so exhausted that they wouldn't have gone to sleep. They would have just bounced off the walls until they finally crashed! haha The first few days were really fun. Onto the next few days!!
