So since Wyatt's birthday and my Dad's birthday are on the same day we decided to go to California for their birthday and surprise my dad. It was AWESOME!! :-) We coordinated it with my mom so that she could come pick us up from the airport. Then that evening we were going out to dinner at Lucilles. That is where the magic happened! My mom dropped us off at the mall where we waited for my Dad to pick up Tif and Quinton from the little airport that they were flying into (his airplane) so that they could come to dinner as well. So he picked them up and then they headed over to the restaurant. My mom went and picked up balloons and then dropped them off to us and then headed to the restaurant. She texted us when they were seated so that we could come in and sing happy birthday. Right before we were about to walk to the restaurant my mom said to go around the back and then my sister Tifany called us and told us that they were facing the exact way that we were about to come in from. So we had to walk around a different way so that my dad would not see us. We walked into the restaurant and came up behind my dad singing happy birthday! He turned around and I think it took him a second to register that it was us! haha It was funny! Then he was all what are you guys doing here?? So we told him how it was all planned out and he couldnt believe that we were actually there! It was pretty great! So Wyatt's first birthday was spent in his very first airplane ride and his first ride in a forward facing car seat. Then is was spent in a stroller at the mall and then in a high chair at the restaurant. haha Not the most exciting first birthday for him but it was fun to surprise my Dad and be there to celebrate my Dad's 60th birthday and Wyatt's 1st! He did get to share my dad's ice cream sunday with him after dinner which he loved!! :-) Then Friday we just hung around in the morning and then went to scandia to go mini golfing. So we went to IN N OUT for lunch and then headed over to play some mini golf. We were at Scandia for quiet a while. By the time we got back home is was about dinner time. My Grandma tooks us all out for Tio's Tacos (which was delicious). Then after that we finally did Wyatt's birthday cake! It was hard for him to be super excited about it because he was really tired. It was past bed time and he had not really gotten his second nap for the day. Nonetheless he enjoyed it for a little bit and we got some good pictures out of it! :-) So here are a few pictures from the beginning events of our fun filled weekend!
Still can't believe my baby is already a year old!! He used to be so little!!
Although he is not so little anymore he is still such a sweet heart and still a baby to me! :-)
We started out the morning with some waffles and strawberries!! YUM!!
Then off to the airport...
In his new forward facing car seat!
Although Ethan does not look it in this picture, he was super excited to go see Grandpa and GG.
He wanted to stand on the suitcase so... bad!! I was just glad I was able to snap a picture of it! :-)
Wyatts very first plane ride!
He thought it was pretty cool!
Ethan was so excited to see GG!
Wyatt was excited to be off the plane I think! haha
Oh our beloved IN N OUT!!! How we have missed you!!
Here are some pictures of us having fun at Scandia!
We all had fun mini golfing! Even Wyatt enjoyed himself when we handed him the putter! haha
Having fun in Grandpa and GG's backyard!
What a cutie pie!!!
Now for the cake smashing!!
I smashed his hand in the cake and then squished it on his chest! Not sure that he was a fan! haha
He liked the cake! He was just really tired!! We had some pretty long days on our visit!
Wyatt is such a sweetheart!! He is full of spunk and we just love him to death!! He is such a funny kid and some times pretty spastic ( I have no idea where he got that from)!! He does a really funny thing where he likes to head bang the couch repeatedly and afterwards will laugh and give a gap toothed scrunchy face smile, and then do it again!! haha It make me laugh every time he does it and I have tried to catch it on camera but he always stops when I get the phone or anything out to record it (typical!). Sometimes he decides that it would be fun to headband my face and will laugh until he actually hurts himself! haha He has the cutest scrunchy faced grin and likes to glare at people! He is such an observant kid. When we go to the zoo he just focuses in on the animals. Especially the fish and turtles! It is pretty great to watch. He always seems like he wants to touch them and gets mad that he cant! He also likes to spit A LOT!! He does not like scrambled eggs, he would rather have fried eggs. He does not like spaghetti noodles because of the texture. So it is much easier to get him to eat almost any other noodle besides spaghetti noodles! Really different from Ethan who loved scrambled eggs and spaghetti! Wyatt shakes his head like he is saying no and moves his hands up and down when he is dancing which is super cute! He claps a lot and points at things and has a cute deep belly laugh a lot of the time! I LOVE it so much! I just want to make him laugh all the time because of his cute gruff laugh! haha He is pretty much walking now. He still falls while walking but he can make it all the way down the hallways and into our rooms without holding onto anything or falling. Now he just has to perfect his balance and walking. I consider him an official walker though. He also has just started wanting to feed himself everything. In the mornings I have to move his high chair into the kitchen so that he can spoon feed himself his oat meal or yogurt. It is fun to watch him do it and SUPER Messy!! I do have pictures of it that I will post later! Wyatt LOVES to wrestle! He will come up to me when I am sitting on the floor and try to crawl on me and attack my face or barrel into me! It is the best! I love playing with him! He seriously is a constant joy in our lives. He is not to the tantrum phase yet and is just a sweet full of spirit little boy! He LOVES to get messy and especially LOVES the bath time after he gets messy. As soon as I walk into the bathroom with him and he sees the tub he completely freaks out. He has no fear while he is in the tub or really anywhere else for that matter. He keeps me on my toes for sure! Another funny things about Wyatt is his interest in our washer and dryer. Whenever I do the laundry he loves to watch the clothes move around inside. Sometimes he tries to grab the clothes as they move, which is really funny to watch!! He does not say really any words yet. He just likes to sound like a cave man! haha He puts a lot of vowels and things together to make different sounds and almost say a word but not really intentionally as if he knows what he is trying to say! I am sure it will come soon! He is growing up just so fast! I can't believe how fast this past year has gone by! I sure do love this sweet little boy in my life! We are truly blessed! :-)
I will add more pictures from our fun weekend on another post!
