Wyatt's Baptism

On October 13th Wyatt was baptized! I made a program that day while Emmett was at preschool and Kayden was napping. We had a few other things going on that day and by the time it was dinner time I ran to pick up Freddy's for everyone to eat dinner before we left for the church. Things got really chaotic right before we left for the baptism. Thankfully, we made it only a few minutes late and the program began. Wyatt asked Gigi and Grandma Murri to give a little talk and Papa and Grandpa to be witnesses. Wyatt had been so excited to get baptized. As soon as he turned 8 he kept saying that he couldn't wait till he got baptized.

It took Wyatt a while to get into the font. Brandon had turned on just the hot water in anticipation of it cooling of enough to be nice by the time they got in. Well that was not the case. Wyatt said it was too hot! Everyone thought that was funny because usually kid complain that the water is too cold. Brandon kept telling him its like a hot tub and that he would get used to it. I think it caught Wyatt off guard so he started acting goofing to cover his real emotions with how hot it was. He finally made it into the water and could get baptized. He did not want to get in the water that is for sure. We all had to tell him that he would be fine and he would get used to it and not be in the water for very long. So we are glad that even though he didn't want to get in the hot water he eventually did and was able to get baptized. haha
Love that smiley face!!

I am so glad that Wyatt decided to get baptized. I know it may not seem like a big decision to him because he is young but, we did explain all of his covenants that he made when he got baptized and the promised blessings he receives when he keeps those covenants. The thing that I loved the most about Wyatt's excitement about getting baptized is that he would say, "I can't wait to take that first big step back to Heavenly Father!" So I am truly hoping that he feels that way for years to come. I hope he knows how much his Heavenly Father loves him and how happy he is that Wyatt did take that first big step back to him. After Wyatt was baptized I asked him how he felt. I asked if he felt any different or warm after he got baptized. He said he didn't. So we made a point to have a lesson on how the spirit works in different ways. I wanted him to know that just because he didn't feel some fantastical that that didn't mean that getting baptized wasn't the right thing to do. Or that he didn't have the holy ghost with him now. Sometimes we get stuck on the thought that we have to have an overwhelming feeling when we partake in ordinances but that is not always the case. I didn't want him to feel less happy about being baptized because he didn't have an overwhelmingly warm feeling after getting baptized like Ethan said he did. So we made sure to tell Wyatt that just because he didn't feel anything crazy for his baptism doesn't mean that Heavenly Father wasn't proud of him or that it wasn't a big deal. It also didn't help that Wyatt was pretty goofy the whole evening. He was making silly comments during the talks and then the water was too hot so he was not taking everything seriously. He was enjoying it, but not really taking things seriously. Which I told him that sometimes when we don't act reverently it is harder for the spirit to touch our hearts. Plus he has told him of times that he has prayed and had prayers answered right away. He told him that when he and his brothers were out at the pond fishing he put down one of Dad's tools that he brought with him. When it was time to go home he couldn't find it. So he said he knelt down right there and prayed and asked Heavenly Father to help him find it. He said that after he prayed he got up and looked down and found it. I told him that even though he didn't feel something that maybe he thought he should feel when he got baptized that the he needs to remember those other experiences that he has had. We sure do love Wyatt and hope that he always knows how much we love him and that we are proud of him for taking this first big step back to our Heavenly Father. I hope he never forgets those other times that he is guided by the spirit so that he can stay strong in choosing the right and stay on the correct path back to Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ so we can all be together forever!!!

It was a great day and I am so glad that both grandparents were able to be there and Ashley and Matt were able to be there! Ashley gave Wyatt a journal after we got back home so that he can right his spiritual experiences in it. So it was a great day and a great end to the day. We are so proud of our little Wyatt and can't believe he is old enough to be baptized! Time is flying to fast!

Papa and Gigi move in, new fridge and some leaf fun!

On October 10th my parents officially moved into their house here in Colorado. I still can't believe they actually live here now. It still feels like a dream because of how fast it all happened. We never thought that they would move here when they did. We figured if they were going to move here it wouldn't be for many years. So we are pretty excited to have them here while the kids are still so young. Anyways, they arrive on the 10th with Ashley and Harvey. Ashley, Matt and Harvey came out with my parents because Matt was getting shoulder surgery in Vale Colorado. So they came out and my parents watched Harvey for Matt and Ashley while he went to have surgery. Made for a crazy week having my parents what Harvey in a house they had never lived in before and all of their stuff in boxes. We tried to let Harvey play at our house as much as he could since we have so many things for him to play with.

The kids were so excited to have Papa and Gigi here.

Harvey and Kayden had a little bit of fun playing together. They are still too little to really play with each other but it was fun to see them together.

Then of course they had to ride the power wheels which Harvey loved. Kayden loves them as well so it was fun for them to be outside riding on them with Emmett's help and Ashley's of course!

Then Emmett was off to his first day of Preschool for this year! He was so excited to be able to go to preschool again. Although, he did tell me that he was a little nervous because he didn't know anyone. He told me he didn't know how to make friends. I had to remind him that he did know how because he had made friends last year in preschool. That helped a little bit but he was still pretty nervous!! I am so glad that we did another year of preschool before sending him to elementary. He is so much like Ethan that it would have been a terrible year for him to start kindergarten with the pandemic going on and the kids having to do school online.

Before my parents arrived we had the boys help make this sign for my parents. They had fun painting it and then we went over and hung it on the inside of their garage door so that when they opened their garage door it pulled the sign up so they could see it. It was fun to surprise them with stuff like that.

After the fun of my parents arriving to move in to their house Mike and Lee arrived. Wyatt was getting baptized that week so they came out to be a part of his baptism. So we had my parents and Brandon's parents which was fun. We were able to play some games in the evenings and just enjoy chatting.

Emmett and Harvey also had a fun time running through the piles of leaves in our backyard.

So much fun playing in dead leaves. haha

Lastly, we bought a new fridge. Our old fridges water spout kept freezing over on us. It started happening so frequently that it was super annoying and I was ready to throw it out the door. So we went to an appliance store that sold slightly damaged appliances and found a the fridge we wanted for a really good price. So we pulled the trigger and ordered it.

It came in the day Wyatt was set to get baptized which made for a busy day. I was pretty excited to get the new fridge though and it doesn't look to bad with all the black appliances. Plus, it is way nicer than our other fridge and the water works so I am happy! haha

Enjoying the beginning of October with some studs!

After our weekend away and fun in Colorado Springs we were back home ready to start a new week. The boys were finally going to be able to go to in person school 2 days a week. Wyatt was starting his first day back to in person school that Tuesday and he was super excited. However, while we were in Colorado Springs Kemry had felt sick the day we were heading down to their house. She had a tummy ache and they kept her home from school. By Sunday she was telling me that her throat was scratchy. I immediately thought, "oh no, what if she had the Corona?" I didn't say anything because I didn't want Brandon to think I was over reacting. So I just kept it to myself and tried to keep Kemry away from Kayden since we only had like 2 weeks until we had to get Kayden tested for Covid before he went in for surgery. So I really didn't not want him to get sick. Later that evening after we were home and getting the kids to bed Tyrel called Brandon and told him that Kemry's teacher had tested positive for Covid so all the the 4th grade students were now to be quarantined and that Kemry had had close contact with the teacher who had Covid. So Tyrel and Vandy had to get Kemry tested. Since Kemry was not feeling well we were now worried that she had it and that we were now all exposed. So instead of sending Wyatt to his first day of in person school we had to keep him home while we waited for Kemry's results to get back in. Wyatt was super bummed but we explained to him how it would not be fun to send him and then have the school have to shut down again if we were exposed to Covid. He understood but was still bummed. It was not a fun situation. I was worried that we were now exposed and Kayden would then not be able to have his surgery when we were scheduled to have it done which would be a bummer. I just wanted to get the surgery done with so I didn't have to worry about it anymore. Especially with cold and flu season coming I really didn't want to have to be stressed out anymore about keeping him healthy now that the kids were going to be going back to school and bringing germs home. So I was really worried about that. Thankfully her results came back a few days later and it was negative. So Wyatt was able to go to school that Thursday and he was super excited about that! Anyways, now that that craziness is over here are some pictures to enjoy!

This kid LOVES the vacuum!! haha He found out that he can actually make it work so now he wants to vacuum all the time!
The day that Wyatt was supposed to be in school but was stuck at home awaiting his cousins results he didn't have much to do for school. His teacher emailed me back and told me that he could work on some math but that was about all he could do for school that day. So he did his math work and then was done for the day!

Kayden loves to get into the drawer under the oven and pull out all the pans. This one time he decided to sit on them. haha I really don't mind that he does this because it keeps him occupied and in one spot for a little while! haha

Then Brandon decided that Kayden was too big to be rear facing and switched him around. It is always such a fun experience for the kids when they get to actually see things and look outside. haha Kayden really seemed to enjoy looking at me and Brandon! He is just getting so big!

The joys of giving toddlers yogurt to feed themselves.

Such a mess!!!

Wyatt was so excited to finally GO to school!! It is hard for these kids to be at a computer all day long! So this was a very exciting day for him.

I was glad I could go with him to see him off. Ethan was pretty jealous that he didn't get to start yet. The 5th graders didn't start in person for another week and a half.

Emmett one morning wanted a hard boiled egg and decided that it would taste good with granola on it. haha So he had a hard boiled egg with birthday cake granola on top! So weird!!! He said it tasted really good! haha

Then on October 10th the movers with my parents stuff arrived. My parents had been trying to get a hold of the movers to see when they were going to get there but they could never reach them. So Saturday morning they got a call saying that the truck was in front of their house. So I got dressed and made my way over to their house to let the movers in and tell them where to put stuff.

I was there for about 4 hours while they unpacked this massive truck with my parents stuff. My parents almost filled a 50ft truck. Or whatever the size was! There was so much stuff!! haha I still can't believe how much stuff they had even after getting rid of a bunch of stuff in Cali. So it was a long day of standing in the front of the house directing the movers where to put stuff. After they finally finished I made my way back home and we got everyone in the car to head back to my parents house to hang up the sign that the boys and Brandon made.

The kids were pretty excited to hang up their sign and to have Papa and Gigi moving in the next day! So the day ended well!
