Murri Reunion Time!

Off to Colorado Springs for the Murri Reunion. It was nice having it in Colorado Springs this year. We didn't have to travel very far. The kids were excited to spend time with their cousins. We had a fun time together. Lots of laughs, games, playing outside, Fizz sodas, food and fun. It was a great time.

We even got some Hawaiian shaved ice. It was so yummy!! It took a long time to get everyones shaved ice to them since we had 24 people to wait for. haha It was worth the wait!

After shaved ice we went to the park to let the kids play and enjoy the weather.

The kids loved doing a water balloon fight and it ended in some of the kids getting the bin full of water dumped on them. They all seemed like they wanted to get drenched. haha

It was a fun afternoon in the sun.

That evening the adults went over to Coya's house for a murder mystery dinner party.

Everyone did such a great job with their costumes and their parts. It was a fun night. I was a little worried about the kids being alone but, we were pretty close to the house. Plus I was hoping they would just fall asleep while we were gone. haha Thankfully the older kiddos are pretty responsible. So it all turned out great.

The next morning was our hike morning. It started out pretty chilly but the sun was out and it warmed up nicely.

We made it to the top and while we were up at the top the kids were trying to feed the birds. Funny enough some of the kids had birds come down and eat out of their hands. It was pretty fun to watch.

We stopped for some lunch at Jimmy Johns before heading back to the house.

Kayden was so beat. Not going to bed at a normal bed time and then having to get up early for the hike made him exhausted.

We let him sleep in the car for a little while and then Brandon moved him to the couch inside. I thought for sure he would not stay asleep but sure enough he went right back to sleep and slept for a little while longer. He was so tired!

Gelato time!

We love going to get Gelato when we are in the Springs. Sadly, this time the Gelato was not yummy and they skimped on the scoops so it was way over priced for what we got.

I brought lemons to make lemonade with the kids. I let whoever helped make it drink some after it was done with. The kids that didn't want to didn't get any. Lesson learned.... just like the little red hen story.

Everyone loves Brandon.

Game time! The older kids enjoyed playing games with each other.

We were glad the weather was pretty warm so the kids could enjoy being outside. Eating outside is always so fun!!

Tyrel and Vandy put together some minute to win it games for the kiddos since the adults had a game night she wanted to let the kids have some game time. It was so fun to watch the kids trying so hard to win. The older kids did an egg challenge game. Vandy hard boiled some eggs and put them in the same carton as some raw eggs. The whole purpose was to not get the raw egg. If you cracked the raw egg over your head you were out.

Wyatt was last to crack a raw egg on his head. It went everywhere!!!!

Last game was pass the parcel. Ethan and Mady ended up not getting anything and were really good sports about it. Even Kemry started giving away her goodies to the younger kids that didn't really get anything. It was cute to watch them being nice to the younger kids.

Look at all those kids!! haha

Then it was time to take off back home. On our way home we saw this really pretty rainbow. Plus it was a double rainbow which is always fun to see.

When we got home we drove by our lot to see if they had done anything. They finally had an excavator out on our land. We were so excited that they were finally going to start. We had been getting so much rain that they were not able to start digging. In fact with all the rain our design lady Maggie said that some foundations that had been dug were just big swimming pools. She said it was probably a good thing we had not been able to start digging. Which makes sense. We were just glad we were finally going to see work getting done on our land because we signed papers in April for our loan. So we need to get going on our house. Anyways, it was a fun weekend with family. We were ready for some time at home after all the chaos though.
