January was a busy month. We spent our time trying to enjoy whatever decent weather we got and the kids were finally able to go back to school. Brandon and and I also got our first Covid 19 vaccine shot. Lastly, we spent some fun evenings with my parents. It was a good month.
I made a hulk protein drink for the boys one morning and they were all super happy. Which is great because it is healthier for them than cereal. So I am glad they like it so much. I even gave Kayden one and he was really liking it. Then he and his brothers kept doing Cheers together which Kayden loved! It was so cute watching him join in with his older brothers.
Totally one of my kids if he likes protein drinks. haha
After being in Colorado Springs with Tyrel and Vandy and hearing about their car issues and the fact that their Traverse completely died on them we started to get nervous about how much longer our car would last us. So Brandon started searching online to see what prices were out there for a Buick Enclave and what we could trade our Acadia in for. He ended up finding a dealer in Logan Utah that had the Buick we wanted for the best price and they said they would trade in for our car. So we decided to do it.

This kid loves to draw! He is always going to the drawers to get pencils. So after getting magic markers for Christmas it has become way easier to let him color in the family room without worrying that he is going to draw on the walls or the couch or ottoman. I still think he likes regular pencils better most likely because we don't want him to. haha

I also took Emmett out to spend his Chick Fil A gift card money from Christmas. He didn't want to spend his money on a kids meal. He wanted the breakfast mini sandwiches. So one morning we headed out and got him what he wanted. He was super excited!!
Emmett also got to participate in a sticker club. So he had to mail off stickers to someone and a paper to have other friends fill out. He was pretty excited about it.
Especially since he was aloud to put all of his envelopes in the mail box by himself.

This is what Ethan gave me for Christmas this year. He was so excited to give it to me and worked hard on it. So I had to get a picture of it before it ended up not being found again.

Just the fact that they were so excited to give me something was cute.
Then Brandon and I were off to Utah. My mom offered to watch the kiddos so that I could go with Brandon to get our new car. We left at 3 in the morning so that we could get to Utah by 10.
We arrived in Utah around 9 and got to the dealership to find out that the car was not ready. It still needed to be cleaned and detailed. The guy told us it would be a couple of hours. So Brandon and I left and made our way for a healthy breakfast.....
Swig is a healthy breakfast right?? haha Nothing like starting the morning off with a massive 44 oz sugary soda!! haha
After grabbing a drink we grabbed krispee creams as well. It was a sugar overload that is for sure. We regretted it only a little bit. haha
We then made our way to some stores to walk around and the mall. Then headed back to the dealer to sit around and sign papers for another 2 hours it seemed. We finally made it out of their with our Buick by 1 i believe. It was a long morning. Especially since we had hoped to be on our way home by 11. We then stopped at IN N OUT for lunch and another swig and then we were on our way home.
We made it home by 10 that evening. It was a long day and we were tired by the time we got home. Luckily, we had listened to a book on our road trip which helped a lot.
This kid.... he will not take no for an answer. I take the barstools away from him and he grabs his high chair and pulls it over to where he wants. He would not stop getting into the bacon bits I had cooked up.
No matter how many times I took his chair away and pulled him down he kept coming back for more. I mean I don't blame him.. crispy bacon is pretty tasty! haha

Tyrel and Vandy also came to visit. Kayden really took to Vandy. He would not leave her alone. haha If she was sitting on the couch he would go over to her and want to sit with her. Then one night he woke up crying and wouldn't settle. We were up just watching stuff or chatting. When Brandon brought Kayden downstairs he mentioned cuddling with "mama". Sadly, Kayden didn't want me. He wanted Vandy. haha So he gave her some cuddles for a little while and then gave me some before heading back to bed.
Oh Kayden, I had been looking for Kayden's blanket for a while. After going to Papa and Gigi's house one night and forgetting Kayden's blanket I figured we would just use his other blanket at the house to put him to bed. I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. So I had to go back to my parents house and get the one that Kayden had left. The next couple of days I was so curious as to where it could have been. So while Kayden was napping one afternoon and Emmett was at preschool I started to look in places that I had not looked. After looking in all the drawers and cabinets that he could get in. I had the thought to look in the vents. It was the last place I had not looked in that Kayden gets in to all the time. So I opened up the one in the kitchen and then moved to the one in the family room. Low and behold there was his blanket. In the vent in the family room. Kayden is such a nut. He is such a busy little boy and gets into everything! I am just glad I looked in there. haha
We also went and ate at Freddy's with Papa and Gigi. After the kids ate their dinner really well we let them have ice cream. Kayden was pretty stoked to have his own ice cream. He didn't eat much of it but he sure seemed to enjoy what he ate.
My mom found this sign at Hobby Lobby and bought one for us. Emmett's bedtime routine consists of telling us, "I love you and I like you, sleep good, sleep tight and your the best!" Every night multiple times before we finally get away. haha So it was only fitting to have this sign up in our house!
I now own a stationary bike. A lady in our ward was giving it away. I figured I would try it out for a little bit and see if I even use it that much. With my back being so cruddy it is hard for me to go running as much as I would like to. Plus with Covid and having to wear a mask at any gym there is no way I could do my cardio in a gym. I can barely breathe wearing a mask when I lift weights. So this was the perfect solution. It is a little rusty and louder that some, probably just needs to be greased up but it will do the job!
Poor Ethan also go bottom braces on. The morning after he got his braces on I came down to him making his lunch. He had made these 4 tiny sandwiches so that he could eat for lunch because his teeth were hurting him. Poor kid!!
So happy to be on the bench like a big boy!!
Then it was finally time for the boys to be able to go back to in person school. They were super excited to be able to go every day. Online school had worked out but Wyatt really needed to be at school to be able to learn. He was too tempted to get on games and youtube during class. It was a constant battle. So we were all glad when they finally announced that the kids were going back full time in person. Lets just hope it lasts.
It may seem as though Kayden is being tormented but he was giggling while his brothers dragged him around the kitchen floor.
Kayden is getting so big. He is starting to enjoy more and more big boy things. It is fun to see him growing and changing.
This is a marble track and Ethan and Wyatt put together. I thought for sure Kayden was just going to tear it down as soon as he got by it. However, he had a blast putting the marbles in the tubes and watching them go down. He also thought it was fun to try and stop them before they made it all the way down.
Out for a walk with Emmett and Kayden. While we were out Emmett wanted to grab some of the bark off of the trees.
He seemed to think that the bark was super cool.
Kayden enjoyed going on a walk. He likes going in his stroller for walks and jogs. It will be nice when the weather is nice and warm again.

We were doing a pizza night with Papa and Gigi and I had all the toppings out ready to make pizzas. Kayden decided he was hungry and climbed up on the barstool and started to go to town on the toppings. haha

We got this little bike seat for Christmas and finally tried it out one afternoon. It turned out to be way colder that we thought it would be and didn't get to let Kayden enjoy it for long. He sure seemed to like it for the couple of minutes he was able to sit in it and go for a ride.
Kayden loves to wear glasses from Gigi. He came over to me and stopped right in front of me and held this pose while I took a picture of him. haha So funny!! We were all laughing pretty hard.
I don't know why he loves to wear these glasses so much but he looks like such a cute little nerd. haha I just want to eat him up!!
Kayden is looking so much bigger these days. He is becoming such a little boy! My baby is no longer here. He has been replaced with a little boy! A little boy who says quite a few words, walks up the stairs holding onto the wall and will occasionally walk down the stairs if you hold his hands. He has become picky with meats and doesn't want to sit in his high chair but wont stay in his seat if he is allowed to sit at the table like his older brothers. He constantly makes a break for the upstairs if the gate is left open so that he can go in his room and get his binky. He loves going for car rides and will say, "Car vroom!!". He likes doing is hair and will touch his hair after he gets it nicely done and looks so happy about it. He still will not say Mama. He will say, Dada, Gigi, Papa, cool car, done, ball, boon (balloon), bubble, sit, da (dog), cracker, ce (cereal), soda, bowl, bapple(apple), tree and when he says please he adds an "e" sound at the end which is the cutest thing ever. He has also started adding the sign for more when he says please which is super cute too. I am sure he says other things too I just can't think of them right now. He also points to his head, ears, eyes, toes and pepe. He likes to be bossy and will tell me to sit down by him when he is at the table. At night if I ask him if he wants Chocolate milk he was say ya and then go to the couch and want to watch doggies. He does not bark for a dog sound he makes the panting noise. haha He is one funny little boy and makes silly faces a lot and tries to make his brothers laugh. If we think he did something funny Kayden will laugh even harder and then do it again. The other night Emmett fell and hurt himself and was crying. So he came over to me gave Emmett a hug then started to get all upset and ran over to where Emmett had fallen and proceeded to throw himself on the floor. So we all started to laugh and then he did it over and over again while he laughed as well. It was so funny! He is also good at giving hugs and kisses and still loves his blankie! When he wants a drink of something I am drinking he will put his finger in his mouth and make a sucking noise and then say please. It is so cute and I have a hard time saying no to him. He is growing up so fast which is fun and sad at the same time.
In this picture he was telling me he wanted an apple. So I went to cut a piece for him. As I was cutting off the skin of a chunk for him he pulled the barstool over to where I was and grabbed the rest of the apple and took a bite of it. He was so happy about it and gave me such a funny face of accomplishment. haha It was too cute not to take a picture!! :-)
At night we all pile into the older boys room and read "Fablehaven" or whatever chapter book we think would be fun to read with the boys. The Fablehaven series is what we have been reading with the kids for the past 2 or more. While we do that Kayden normally goes about the room getting into his older brothers things. This one night he decided he wanted to lay by Ethan. It was pretty cute. He took turns getting into each of the boys beds. They all love Kayden so much and want to make him happy. It is fun to watch!
Look at that cute little face. I love that he has this little slight damper in his cheek. He is such a ham and I can't get enough of him!
Plus the fact that he will pose and say "cheese" anytime I get my phone out and point it at him is pretty cute too!
I finally got myself an air fryer. I had been reluctant to get an air fryer. I just figured it was over rated and wouldn't be as great as it was supposed to be. Boy was I wrong. After seeing my mom use hers and then Vandy had one and was telling me how much she loved hers I finally caved. We went to Costco one afternoon and they had one. So I figured 50 bucks for an air fryer was not bad at all. Plus the free stock Brandon had signed me up for the year before was now at 56 bucks. So I had Brandon sell my stock and got a free air fryer out of it! haha I have loved it ever since. I can cook chicken nuggets in like 5 minutes and they are crispy. Plus the other things I have cooked in it! I am a fan and use it regularly!
Kayden LOVES to drink out of my water bottle. I don't know if it is just the fact that it is not his or what but anytime I have my water out he will say please and or suck on his finger to let me know he wants it. He also does it when Gigi is over here. If she has her water he will say "Pleaseee" and then give her kisses so that she will let him have a drink. haha
Why would anyone sit on the massive couch we have when you can sit right on top of Daddy!! haha
