February Fun

February was another month consumed by my elimination diet and dealing with tailbone and back pains. My back pains seemed to be doing better with more time and my tailbone was still an issue. I was frustrated that I was still feeling issues with my back after being on this diet for so long. I was hoping that if it was food that it would have been all better by the time I had been doing it for a month or longer. Either way I was still plugging along and trying my best to enjoy life on my food restrictions. Something that made me realize that I don't have it that bad was when a 12 year old boy (Jack Diamond) got diagnosed with cancer. I feel like there are so many health issues going on right now with so many people it is crazy. It also makes me realize that my issues may not be fun and may make it harder to enjoy life like I used to yet, it could be so much worse. So I am grateful that I have improved as much as I have and that its not something even more serious. So for now I just have to keep the faith that one day I will be fully healed and in the mean time I need to enjoy my sweet family.
So the month was full of trying figure out what to eat, playing cars with Ethan, basketball practices and games and trying to stay warm in the cold winter months. haha

We colored shoes for Jack Diamond in our ward. He loves to design shoes so everyone in the ward and really anyone who knew him was coloring shoes and posting it to show love to him,

Another cold day and all I wanted to do was sit by the fire. haha
So I end up turning on the fire and convincing Kayden to build something with his tiles near the fire.

Emmett's 100's project for his 100 day of school.

It has been fun to watch the boys play basketball this year.  They are getting better at playing and its more fun to watch.

Then me and Kayden went to Scheels with Gigi one day.

Its always fun to go to Scheels and walk around. Kayden loves going with me and Gigi. We try to ride the Ferris Wheel and then look at the cars that Kayden always wants to buy. haha He will tell me before we go that he has money. He will says, "My have lots of money!" when I tell him he doesn't have any money he gets all upset and says, "YES MY DO!" The only reason he wants to have money is so he can buy a car at Scheels again. haha

Then after dinner one night Kayden said he was an ice cream truck and started to bring me pretend ice cream. It was the best Ice cream ever!! Especially since I couldn't have real ice cream yet. haha
He would tell me what flavor it was and then sometimes he would ask me which kind I wanted. He gave me a cone and everything.

Kids don't seem to feel the cold. As soon as it is slightly sunny Kayden will want to be outside. Even if its not warm. He wants to shovel the snow any chance he gets. I have to convince him to come inside and it is usually pretty difficult.

We also got to go to a preschool open house in February. It is kind of crazy to think of Kayden getting old enough to go to preschool. Sadly, we don't get to use Jamie Bohn like I have for all 3 of the other boys. So Kayden is going to be going to Small Oaks Christian preschool. His friend Theo is going to be going there so I figured Kayden would enjoy that.

Kayden was mostly excited about all the toys they had. I asked him if he wanted to go to school with Theo and he was super excited about that. They are good little buddies.

Then we had to go get Wyatt's braces adjusted. Kayden thought it was cool watching him get his brackets changed out. He can make the goofiest faces.

We also went to get Kayden a new backpack for school next year. He was super excited to get a Paw Patrol backpack.

Theo and Kayden are such good friends. It is so cute to watch them play together. Kayden wants to play with him all the time.

Emmett lost another tooth and was super excited about it.

More basketball!

My lunch vs. Brandon's lunch. haha Brandon had a plate full of blueberry muffin and I had a container of veggies! haha I think I would rather have Brandon's lunch. haha

Kayden has been super in to helping me make malts. This time he wanted to help scoop the ice cream. He tried so hard and actually got some good scoops. He was pretty happy with himself. He kept telling me that he had big muscles. I loved watching his faces while he was scooping the ice cream.

Valentines was different than others. I was not eating Chocolate at the time so I didn't get my usual chocolate covered strawberries for Valentines. However, I was able to get the boys some little goodies and they were super excited about them.

Then Ethan wrote me another note telling me that he wanted to buy me a chocolate rose from school but then remembered I couldn't have chocolate yet so he didn't. haha He is so thoughtful!! All of my boys were super thoughtful and telling me how they wished they could give me some chocolate and that they loved me. It was very sweet.
Brandon and I ended up having some Thai food that night for dinner and watched a movie.
It was a good night even if I couldn't have chocolate.

Kayden has been loving these little hamburger gummies. So when I gave him a bunch for Valentines he was stoked!

Sick of salads so I attempted a sandwich wrap with a gluten free tortilla. haha
It was a little old so I ended up taking the tortilla part off and just eating the insides. It tasted so good after having salads for lunch for so long.

The massive tower we made. Kayden wanted it to be taller than him. After we would add more tiles he would stand next to it to see if he was taller than it now or not.

Then Kayden got a massive stye in his eye. His poor eye was super swollen. I finally got him to let me put a warm washcloth on his eye a couple of times and his eye looked a lot better the next morning. I have never had a kid get a stye before. His eye looked so painful.

Arcade time!!

Kayden calls chess "chest" because of bluey! It is pretty cute. He says he is really good at it and tells me that he beats his brothers at it. The boys were home from school one day and since it was too cold outside they played some games in the house.

Oh and did domino tracks.

Styx concert.
Me, Brandon and my parents went to a Styx concert together as well. It was actually a fun concert. We got tickets as a Christmas present to my Dad. So it was a fun outing with them.

This kid fights naps like no other. He will be so tired but not let me put him down for a nap. He will sometimes fall asleep on the couch like this. If we try to move him to his bed he will wake up and then scream that he doesn't want to go to bed.
I have been able to trick him into taking a nap in his bed by telling him the cars we are playing with want to go in his bed. Then I lay there with him and eventually he will fall asleep. Or when he was scared of the vacuum I could get him to stay in bed by telling him the vacuum was going to get him. haha I did that one time when someone was vacuuming downstairs. So silly!

End of season for Wyatt! It was a good season and fun to watch Wyatt play.

Our healthier dinner. We made a marinade for the shrimp and did some roasted potatoes and veggies. It was really tasty. Have to get creative with our dinners with my restriction.

I sent this picture to my Mom and said it was my new game, "Find the Ham" haha
In order to get my veggies in without having a salad I would do an unwich. Some ham, avocaod, peppers, pickles, cucumber and mustard. Oh and a ton of spinach! haha It tasted pretty good actually. Mostly, because I was so sick of salads! haha
