Exciting Times

Well for starters we have changed our landscaping in our front yard. We planted some palms in September and a tree but it died so we had a new one planted in December and just recently we planted these BEAUTIFUL Hibiscus flowers.

They are just so pretty and we love that we decided to plant them. It adds some nice color to our frontyard. Our tree that we planted is a Jacuranda which blooms a light purple flower. We are thrilled to say that our tree is surviving. We were pretty afraid that it was going to die too but the other day we noticed there are some green leaves growing on our tree finally. For a while it looked like it was almost dead and we were going to be very frustrated to have to plant another one (thankfully this tree came with a warranty). We really like what we have done with our front yard. The best thing is we don't have to trim a tree that has 1 inch thorns all over the place. So here is what our frontyard looked like and then what it now looks like.

This is the only picture that I found of the front of our house when we had our huge thorny trees. This was the first time we saw our house.

Obviously this is what it looks like now. I know it is kind of far away but that is the only way we could get both of the palms in the picture.

Brandon was having fun holding Ethan up in the air, and Ethan was having fun being held up in the air! haha Silly boys!
We also just started our very first garden. We have a ton of rocks in our backyard, so the first thing we had to do was move all of the rocks away from the area that we were going to have our garden. It was a pain to say the least. At least we got it done and we are excited to have some fresh fruits and veggies. We planted corn, watermelon, cantaloupe, peas, and zucchini. Oh ya and of course the day we were planning of starting our garden it was cold and rainy. What are the odds that it would be raining the day that we wanted to plant a garden when the week before it had been in the 90's. I helped Brandon move the rocks and get that ready but then Ethan woke up so I had to take care of him. So I was able to put some seeds in the ground but Bran did the rest.
Ethan wanted to plant some puffs! hahaha

Brandon watering our garden after all was said and done.

Ethan was happy for a little bit in his chair since he was eating his puffs.
He loves those puffs.
Then the other night we had spaghetti for dinner and decided to blend some up for our little man. He LOVED it!!!! So we have decided that it is time to blend more of what we eat up for him and just feed him that for dinner. Until he gets some more teeth and can chew up meat and stuff like that.
Oh and Ethan is getting super close to crawling. He has been pulling himself around a lot these last few days and he has been trying so hard. So we may have a crawler on our hands soon.
Pretty exciting!! :-)

Baby talk!

Oh man he is such a cutie! He is doing this a lot now and we love it! It is so much fun and we could listen to him talk all day long! :-)

p.s: we had to keep the camera hidden so that he would not just stare at it which is why it is not very centered on him. Also just a warning if you enlarge the video to watch it is VERY pixely!
ENJOY!!

8 Months old and growing!

Well our little monkey is 8 months old as of yesterday. It is crazy how fast time flies. I can't believe it was 8 months ago that I had this little guy. I just love him so much even if he does drive me crazy sometimes. He has the cutest smiles and I love it when he gives me his big smiles.

He has been clicking his tung the last week and it is so funny. He has been clicking his tung and playing with his tung a lot the last couple of days. When I fed him his baby food at lunch today he was just going crazy with talking and using his tung to make it sound different and make different sounds. It was so funny I could not help but laugh even if it was frustrating that he was just spitting his food out at me some of the time. He was having too much fun moving his tung around and making different voul sounds and talking.

He is getting really good at eating finger foods. We are going to start giving him some beans for him to feed himself and just a bunch of other stuff because he really likes to do it and he does really well. He is really good at eating bread, his puffs and he loves fresh strawberries! haha

He always wants to eat what we are eating but I am not sure if he can have ketchup and stuff like that so we normally don't give him exactly what we are eating yet.

We have tried giving him chicken vegetable baby food and he does not like it at all!! haha I made him some scrambled eggs the other day and he did really well with them and seemed to like them.

He has been getting up on his knees a lot, and I think he is actually wanting to start to crawl now. He has been doing it way more in the last 2 days than in the past couple of weeks. So we shall see. I am excited for him to start crawling but at the same time kind of not ready for it! haha Although, my excitement for him to start takes over any feelings of not being ready!

I love playing with him and making him laugh really hard. It makes it all worth it when he smiles at me and when I make him laugh. He is such a happy little stink and I am so glad to be a mom and have him in my life!

Also he has not slept through the night for quite some time now. With getting teeth, being sick and going through growth spurts it feels like he will never sleep through the night again. After he was sick and throwing up and not drinking anything he went crazy on his formula and started drinking around 30-38 ounces in a 24 hour period. Now he still does not seem to be able to make it through the night on 27 ounces. He needs more or he won't sleep through the night which he can't seem to get all of what he needs during the day so I am left with getting up to feed him once or twice. Some nights I am up every 3 hours with him. So I am hoping it ends soon so I can go back to getting my good nights sleep.

Also Ethan has started to smack his toys, and he loves it. Maybe its because it makes a different sound when he does it or something but it is really funny to watch him hit or throw around his toys and see the funny little faces and smiles he makes while doing it. Such a funny little boy!

Well that is about all I can think of right now. So that is the latest update on our little munchkin!

The last couple of weeks!

This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago
right before Ethan and I went running! :-)

Well lets see before Brandon's break some of his family came to visit. His brother Jason had an interview at Brandon's school for the medical program and since he was coming down his mom and sister (and her little girl) and Grandma Hunstman came down to visit too. It was fun having them here. They were here during Brandon's finals week which was not the best timing but at least Brandon did not have to study too much and was still able to enjoy having his family here. We had some fun playing games and enjoying the beautiful weather. It was fun even though Ethan had been sick and Brandon got sick on Monday which then got around to his brother Jason and to me. It was almost like the flew but without a fever so I don't know it was weird! haha Luckily the illness only lasted like 24 hours for most of the people that caught it!

The cousins eating together! :-)

Grandma Murri reading to her 2 out of 3 grand babies.

Having fun at the park!

Ethan's first time on a swing at the park!

He really liked it!!

Mady was not happy to be off of the swings! haha

Then during Brandon's break we had a lot of fun riding our bikes and relaxing. We also went on a little hike and it was a lot of fun! I love it when Brandon has breaks from school!!

Ethan and daddy ready for the hike!

We have been sitting Ethan up in the tub a little bit so he can get used to it and he really likes it. We just had to get a picture of his blue eyes!!

Look at those cute little white teeth!

We bought Ethan a new church shirt and tie and it looks so cute on him!
