Big Owie!!!

So last Friday May 1st we had our first big cut happen! Every Friday we head to our church building where a friend in the ward puts on a Piyo class. It is a great exercise and fun to let the kids run around and play with other kids while us ladies exercise! Every thing was going fine. I was having to take it a little easier since I kept getting little sharp pains on the sides of my stomach (most likely ligament pains). Then as soon as we were done exercising we decided to head to music makers. Some ladies in the ward put on a cute little rotation of stories and songs and little activities for the kids at the church building each Friday. The kids enjoy it and I decided to let the kids do music makers before we took off and hit the grocery store. Of coarse all of that changed and we were heading down the hallway and Wyatt was looking back at a friend of his and started running. He turned around and I yelled "watch out!!!" as I saw the collision coming. I was hoping he would have stopped himself with his hands but he was going to fast and slammed into the door and knocked him flat on his back. I was only a few steps away from him so I quickly grabbed him as he was crying and trying to get up. I then saw the gash in his forehead and the blood that started running down his face. I just thought to myself "I need to get something to put on his head and stop the bleeding." So I grabbed his head to apply a little pressure as I held him facing away from me and carried him awkwardly and as fast as my pregnant body could to the bathroom to get some paper towels to put on his head. He was crying and I couldn't believe he had just gashed his head open. So we got to the bathroom and I grabbed some paper towels and applied pressure. I then started to think of how I was going to manage getting to the urgent care without any bandaids to put on his head while we drove there. With him being 2 1/2 I doubted he would have held paper towels to his head while we drove to the urgent care. Thankfully one of the moms that was at the exercise class had seen me with Wyatt going to the bathroom and came to check on me and then saw his head and went and looked for some bandaids. Wyatt had stopped crying by then and just looked sad and tired. I went out of the bathroom carrying Wyatt holding the paper towels on his head. The mom who had seen me came back with some gauze and a couple little bandaids. While we were standing by the water fountain in hallway probably 6 other moms came huddling around us wondering what they could do to help and giving me some support. I had one lady start cleaning off Wyatt's face as others were helping to put some bandaids on his head. Then one of my friends RaQuelle offered to take Ethan back to her house while I took Wyatt to the urgent care! I was so thankful for all the help! So we got Wyatt bandaged up and then me and Wyatt went into the bathroom to clean off the blood on my hands and Wyatt's hands. Then we went to find Ethan so I could tell him that I had to leave but he was going to go play at Cassins house. He was not very happy about that. Ethan started to flip out, crying and holding onto my leg! So RaQuelle grabbed him from my legs and said he would be fine and I left. I figured he would be fine and wasn't too worried about him. I just wanted to get to the urgent care and get Wyatt taken care of. I figured he would need stitches but was hoping that they would be able to just glue it closed. By the time we got to the urgent care (luckily just up the street from our church building) Wyatt looked like he was about to fall asleep. I felt so bad for him and I was then also worried that maybe he had a concussion because of how tired he was now. We got into the urgent care and got our information put into the system and were taken directly back into the back to get things moving along with getting him taken care of. Wyatt was a champ and listened and did the the nurse told him to do. We then waited for about a half hour for the doc to get in. While we waited Wyatt and I played with trains and he got stickers from the nurses. Once the doc came in she looked at Wyatt's cut and after playing around with it determined that it was not staying together well enough to be able to glue it. So we were getting stitches! The doc did not seem like she dealt with kids very often because she seemed kind of awkward about everything and didn't talk to him like normal adults talk to kids. Wyatt did great with letting her play with his cut and then she let us have a snack before she got to work. She also mentioned putting Wyatt in a papoose for the shot and stitches. I didn't know how he would handle everything so I figured we probably should. I told Wyatt it was like a big blanket and he was super excited to lay in it. In fact he laid on it before it was even time to wrap him up! haha The doc gave us a little while to finish his snack and by the time she came back Wyatt was really ready to just go home. I told him that the doctor had to fix up his head first and then I showed him his owie on my phone. The doc then came back in and we got him wrapped up! He thought it was pretty fun until the shots began! Then the crying and screaming started! I held his hands and tried to talk him through it and gave his hands little kisses and he struggled to break free. He then started screaming "mom get my arms out!! I want my arms out!!" He starting struggling even more and the doc put so much anesthetic in his head and then asked him if he was still hurting. The kid was hysterical and she was asking him if he was still in pain. He is 2 and just wants to get his arms out and is screaming! I tried to talk to him to calm him down and I tried to ask him if he was hurting, just thinking maybe he would talk to me! He was so upset and determined to get his arms out. The doc then told me to hold his head because he was not calming down and was moving his head as he struggled. So I tried to hold him but he was so determined and struggling to get out that I couldn't hold him that still. The doc told me that she was going to get a nurse in to hold his head. So the nurse came in and as soon as she grabbed his head Wyatt got one of his arms out. So they had to stop and I unwrapped Wyatt's arms. He stretched out his arms and I held his hands and told him the doc was almost done. Then after getting his arms out for a second the doc was like, "well we need to finish up before the anesthetic wears off." (which I mean come on it does not wear off that fast). So I put his arms down and they were able to wrap him back up and he didn't move after that. He just laid there with a sad little face and a sniffle every few seconds and he was calming down. He looked like he was going to fall asleep he became so calm. He looked so sad laying there with his eyes closed and his little sad face and sniffles!! By then I finally sat down and I really started to feel almost shaky! I had exercised that morning and hadn't eaten anything since breakfast and I had had anything to drink for a while and it was after noon. So I sat down as they finished up. Then once they were done the nurse asked if he would want a popsicle. She than said he may just sleep since he was basically asleep laying there but then they had to take off the paper that was around where they had done the stitches. Of coarse it sticks to his head like crazy!! They had to peal it off of his head! It seemed to be sticking worse than a bandaid and it was stuck on his hair to so he started to bawl again! Once they got it unstuck I picked him up and just held him as he sobbed! They then brought in a popsicle for him and I sat there and fed it to him! I felt so bad for my little buddy!! Then I asked the doc what the chances of him having a concussion were and she said not very likely with running into a door and that when you have some trauma your body just kind of shuts down to help start the healing process and that was probably why he was acting so tired. She said to just watch him but that she wasn't worried! So we got our discharge papers and finally were able to head over to our friends house to pick up Ethan!
My poor little buddy! Although when he saw all the bandaids on his head in the mirror he acted all excited and said, "mom.. stickers on my head!" and kind of laughed! haha He is so cute!! He just looks so sad! :-(

They took of the bandaids to look at it and to clean it off a little bit! Look at that owie!! :-(

The nurse put some numbing patch on his head while we waited for the doc! Wyatt was such a champ!!! He laid down for quite a while and then sat up a little and played with me for a little and then would say his head hurt so I would have him lay back down and he would!

This is when I let him see his owie!

The papoose!
He thought it was so fun at first! I forgot to mention that the doc then tells him what is going to happen. She starts saying that first there is going to be a pretty big sting and it is going to hurt and then he wont feel anything! Yet again I don't think she deals with kids very often! He is 2 1/2 and she is telling him that it is going to really hurt at first! He didnt know what was going to happen! Poor little buddy!! :-(

Finally calmed down and falling asleep as they finished up. If you look close you can see his sad little face!
This was when I almost lost it and started to cry! I had been doing so well and been so strong and just trying to get Wyatt taken care of. Then when things were finally calmed down and I saw my poor little buddy so sad and sniffling as he calmed down I could feel the lump in my throat and I had to hold it back!! It was not fun having to go through that with Wyatt and seeing him going through so much and being so sad!! It just broke my heart to see him like this after I finally had a chance to breath!

Finally heading home and still giving me smiles!!
Sure do love this little buddy!!

The rest of the day was spent watching cartoons and movies as well as coloring and doing some playdough. I wanted to keep Wyatt as calm as I could since I was supposed to not let him run around a lot and or jump which is hard to do with a 2 1/2 year old boy. Luckily they were both pretty cool with just chilling and watching stuff especially since I didn't feel like doing anything after that crazy morning. I also didn't want to put Wyatt down for a nap just in case he did had a mild concussion so I wanted to keep an eye on him throughout that day. By that evening when I was making dinner I started to have Braxton hick contractions about every 10 minutes for a while. I started to get worried that all of the craziness of the day was just too hard on me and I just thought that was all we needed was for me to go into labor 6 weeks early! So I tried to relax more and drink more water. I took it easy and they seemed to subside but I still was having more than I normally do! On top of that, I felt sick to my stomach and couldn't eat much dinner. I just wanted to sit and not move for the rest of the night. I waited to get the boys to bed till Brandon got home so I didn't have to do it and cause more of a problem! The boys went to bed well that night and Brandon and I just relaxed the rest of the evening.
It was a very crazy day and not the best way to start out May! Wyatt was back to his normal crazy self the next day. We had to keep reminding him to be careful so he didn't bonk his head again. He would bang his head on the couch and run around like nothing ever happened. haha I am just glad that it is over with and that he is healing up well and quickly! Lets just hope that we don't have anymore accidents like this. At least for a long time!!

Fun at the Park

So we bought some sand toys and I wanted to let the boys play with them. I attempted to go to 2 different lakes to let the kids play in the sand and couldn't find where the beach area of either lake was. So after about an hour of driving around we finally made it to just one of the parks in Fort Collins. The boys didn't mind at all since they were watching Big hero 6 in the car and were just excited to be able to play at a different park! So I took advantage of the situation and got a few pictures taken with my nice camera of my cute boys!!

I have such cute boys!! I sure do love them!!
I can't wait to see what our next little boy will look like! :-)

March 10- April 30 2015

This was Ethan's picture that he painted for Daddy! :-)

The boys LOVE it when Daddy lets them watch a cartoon on his ipad for bedtime!

One Sunday we had the boys draw pictures for Grandpa and GG.

The top 2 were Wyatts drawings. One picture Wyatt says was a skateboard and the other one was Grandpa and GG. haha
Ethan drew this for Grandpa and GG. haha the bottom little drawing was a box troll! :-)

I let Ethan write on the envelope! I think it is so funny how he started out writing so big and then ended with writing smaller! haha It worked though and my parents loved it!

Wyatt being a little sad grump!! With getting rid of naps lately and not sleeping in as he normally does he has been a lot grumpier lately!

Daddy reading to the boys at bed time! :-)

Wyatt transitioned to Ethans old blue bike! We gave Ethan his new green bike and Wyatt Ethan's old blue bike! They LOVE riding their bikes together now!

Found the boys like this when Wyatt was supposed to be napping. Ethan had snuck into Wyatt's room with his comforter and they were hiding in their own little fort! haha Silly kids!

Wyatt saw this picture at Best Buy and said it looked like a poop in a toilet! haha
 My creation with playdough..

 Ethan's creation with playdough.

He even spelt out the ninja turtles name with the play dough! I was so impressed!! He is getting so creative!
Ethan got to celebrate his birthday at preschool in April. He got to decorate a crown and wear it to preschool and I went and helped him teach his class mates how to play golf!

This is what Wyatt does when he gets to play with glue and pom poms! haha

My boys are so silly when it comes to stickers! :-)

The boys and I went to firehouse subs one day for lunch while Daddy went out to lunch with someone to discuss work stuff!

The boys sure do love firehouse subs! Anytime we ask where they want to go for lunch if we are out and about they usually say fire house! haha I don't mind one bit! Plus when they look so cute in these fire hats who wouldn't want to go to firehouse with them! ;-)

We had a pretty good thunderstorm a few days ago and of coarse it had to happen when nap time was supposed to happen. Wyatt got scared and then did not want to stay in his room and sleep. So I let him lay on the couch and I put on a movie for the boys to watch so I could get some cooking done!
 More art from Wyatt!
Since we are not putting carpet in our basement for a little while I figured I would try out our shelf that we got from ikea. It looks so much nicer and organized than having our big bins just sitting in the corner! haha

The boys had fun playing with the box from the shelf and the tubs. They made a little race track out of it and had a blast!

I was feeling super tired and didnt want to do anything. The boys then started to give me a check up and I told Ethan that I needed a wash cloth for my head so he grabbed me a towel! haha Luckily I was able to get their attention and get them out of the bathroom by just coughing and telling them I needed them! haha They then went upstairs and got some books to read to me! It was great being taken care of! :-) I need to do this more often! haha

Ethan wanted to take pictures of himself with my phone. So I turned the camera around so he could see himself and these where the pictures that he took. :-)

Then Wyatt wanted to take a picture! haha What a great picture of the "Friend" magazine! :-)

32 weeks pregnant!

The boys moved the chairs together and said that they were sitting in "yucky water".

A few nights ago I decided to make a little fort with the boys and watch a movie with some popcorn! They thought it was pretty cool! :-)

Enjoying the beautiful weather walking around Centerra mall while Ethan was in preschool. Brandon was there with us but he had gone into a store and Wyatt wanted to touch the water in the fountains! haha

The boys also finally got their bunkbeds put up. Ethan had been asking to put it up for a long time and we finally did! The boys were super excited... although they did not sleep very well for a little while. Wyatt was so excited to not be in the crib anymore and Ethan was excited to have Ethan in the room that they would just play and play and play! It was funny but frustrating as well.
We have a pretty good life!! :-)
