A Great start to March

March started out great. The weather warmed up enough to enjoy being outside more and we got to enjoy a visit from Brandon's Mom and his Grandma Huntsman. They drove in and stayed a few nights before flying out to Arkansas to watch Coya and Johns kids for a couple weeks while they went to Taiwan. So we were lucky to have them from Saturday night March 3rd till Tuesday afternoon. So here are some pictures from our fun as we started out the month of March.

Emmett decided that he wanted to pull me in the wagon. I didn't think that he would be able to but, he pulled me almost around the block. haha
As we were walking he heard some dogs bark. So he had to stop and listen...

He was so excited and surprised to hear them all barking. haha It was so cute!

Then it was back to business. He would pull me for a while and then need a break and I would pull him just a little bit. Then he would get out and tell me to get back in. Then he started saying, "All.. Aboard!!" I would then make the train noise and he would keep pulling me. haha It was so cute!

After Ethan's last basketball game we went swimming. It has been a really long time since we have gone swimming at the Windsor Rec center. It was a lot of fun except Emmett kept choking on water. haha Maybe we need to go swimming more often so they get used to it again.

The kids had lots of fun and we enjoyed soaking in the hot tub a few times before heading home for Emmett's nap time.

Later that evening Grandma Murri and Great Grandma Huntsman showed up. We had dinner ready to eat when they arrived and then we left to get ice cream at Kilwin's right after.

It was a nice evening walk and the ice cream was delightful as always!

The rest of the weekend was spent playing lots of games and we had fun chatting and just enjoying having them stay for a few days.

Sadly, the time had to end and they had to leave. I drove them to the airport Tuesday afternoon while Wyatt was at preschool. On the way back Emmett was having a rough time so I pulled over and got him a slurpee in hopes that he would be happier the rest of the time and maybe fall asleep. Well he didn't fall asleep and after stopping by chick fil a in Thornton to get myself something to eat he spent the rest of the drive spitting into this straw and slurpee and spitting all over himself. I kept telling him to stop because it was gross but he wasn't listening. Luckily, he slept when we got home and I had time to get a few things done before picking up Wyatt from school.

Basketball

On March 3rd we went to Ethan's last basketball game. It was fun to watch Ethan this year playing basketball. He has gotten so much better than the last time he played in a basketball league. He has gotten really good at dribbling and has gotten way more aggressive on defense. We just need to work with him on offense this summer.

After the game the coach got a room for all of us to go have a little pizza party. He also gave our little metals for the kids and said a little something about each kid. He said that no matter what Ethan always had a smile on his face and that he has gotten so much better through the season. I love that anyone that is either teaching Ethan or interacting with him on more than one occasion they always say that he is always smiling and happy. It is fun to hear that from others. I know that I was the same way and so was Brandon when he was little. So it all makes sense! It sure was fun to watch him improving this year. I am sure he can't wait until next year when he can play again!

The rest of February

The rest of February went pretty well. Brandon got better and we had some pretty cold days and then finally a few days where it got warm enough that the boys wanted to play outside. We are sure ready for some warmer weather around here.
Wyatt and Emmett decided that they needed to eat their lunch on the ground one afternoon. What silly kids.

Emmett sat in our dump truck but then couldn't reach his food so he asked me to get it for him.

We also watched the Gleaves kids while they went furniture shopping all day long one the Saturday after Brandon was just starting to feel better. It was a busy day. Ethan had a basketball game at 9 that morning. So Owen and Cole got dropped off at our house at 8:30 and we headed to the basketball game. Then we went and got slurpees with the kids and took them to Scheels to let them play a little bit. Then we headed home and let them play at our house and Brandon sat down to relax since he was still just getting better. Tell you what it was hectic trying to do just what we did with those extra boys. It didn't help that they didn't want to listen to us. haha It all turned out ok though and we were glad when it was over. haha

At the basketball game I kept telling the boys that they needed to stay in the court room with us. They had went outside the doors at one point and I told them that they could stand over by the doors but couldn't leave. Well next thing we know Brandon goes to check on them and both Owen and Cole at left the court and he found them in the bathroom by the pool. Then when we were leaving Owen just started taking off and the cole started taking off and I had to make them hold hands with my boys so they wouldn't get lost. Or rather so we wouldn't lose them. It was just nuts!! We had only been with them for 1 hour and we were all ready over it. haha

In order to try and get the kids to stay still and stop running off and wrestling on the ground while I went and bought some scotcheroo's and cinnamon almonds Brandon told them to act like statues. He took this picture but told me later that our boys were the only ones standing still and that the other boys didn't last very long before they started running around again.

After lunch and nap time we took the kids to the park for just a little bit. It was pretty chili outside still so we didn't last very long. Plus I was told to put sunscreen on Cole if we went outside because he is a red head and burns easily. Ya, I forgot to do that so we headed home after only being at the park for maybe 30 minutes.

That night we got some papa murphy's pizza and let the kids eat and watch a movie downstairs. They were pretty excited about this. They drank tons of root beer and ate their pizza up.

Then it was bed time for our boys. Emmett wanted to sleep in the room on the floor with all the other boys. So we attempted to allow that. It didn't last very long. Emmett kept getting out of bed and goofing off and we eventually just put him in his crib so he would actually sleep. Cole and Owen wouldn't calm down and go to sleep so we ended up just bringing them downstairs with us so that our boys would go to sleep. We let Owen and Cole stay up and play until their parents got back around 9:30. They picked them up and Brandon and I had a little bit of piece before going to bed. It was such a crazy day!

It finally warmed up enough to start melting the snow and then it froze over night and we had tons of icicles hanging from our pergola. The boys thought it was super cool. We had an even bigger icicle hanging below our trampoline. It was bigger than Emmett and probably an inch thick. It was pretty cool to see and the boys couldn't believe how big they were.

After Brandon got over his sickness and had a consult with an ENT scheduled he looked into Wyatt's throat to see his tonsils. Brandon had just had a bad dream about Wyatt having his tonsils close up and not being able to breathe and Brandon said that in his dream he was holding open Wyatt's tonsils with a dental mirror as we rushed to the emergency room. Not a fun dream at all. So he looked into his throat that morning and so I took a picture of his tonsils later just to get proof of how massive poor Wyatt's tonsils are. He totally needs to get his out!

Then of course Ethan wanted a picture of his tonsils. Thankfully, Ethan and Emmett have tonsils like me. Very tiny tonsils!! :-)

This last week of February we had some nice days. The sun was shining and the wind was not blowing. It felt so nice outside and we tried to take advantage of that and played outside in the backyard before Wyatt headed off to preschool.

We also got to go watch Brandon play his last basketball game of his season. The game was at 6:15 so we decided it would be fun for the boys to see how their daddy plays basketball. It was fun to watch and it was a good game. Plus, Brandon's team won in overtime with Brandon making a ton of shots near the end. It was fun to watch!! What a great way to end the month of February!

Valentines Day

Valentines Day this year was not all we expected or hoped it would be. Brandon and I were planning on having an in home date night on Valentines Day but, Tuesday he came home from work with his throat hurting him really bad. Yup, he got strep throat yet again. That is the third time in the past 6 months. That is a lot!! He brought home some flowers when he picked up his antibiotics that Tuesday and that was all our celebration for the time being. That night he started feeling really terrible with chills and everything.
My bore hubby!!! This one hit him hard and lasted longer than the last time. We are hoping he doesn't get it again. I guess we shall see!

So on Valentines Day Brandon stayed home from work and tried to sleep and just felt terrible. I made the boys some heart shaped sandwiches for lunch (I even sent a heart shaped sandwich with Ethan to school).

Emmett took a bite out of his sandwich and said, "Heart Broken!" haha It was so funny! He made a sad face as he said it too. What a silly kid!

Here are the beautiful flowers Brandon got for me!!

Both the boys had Valentines parties at school and were super excited about it.

Wyatt was so excited to show me all of his cool Valentines things he got when I picked him up from school.

After school we headed over to our friends the Gleaves to make and decorate sugar cookies. The Gleaves boy Owen is in Wyatt's preschool class and Jordan his mom invited all of the boys over from preschool. Wyatt and Emmett had a lot of fun playing with friends and helping make the cookies.

It was a fun little group. Plus us moms had fun chatting with each other while the kids played.
After making the cookies and decorating them we headed home to see Ethan and to see if Brandon needed anything since he still felt yucky. Then it was dinner time which was nothing special. I had not planned anything since Brandon and I were planning on having an in home date night but since he got sick he didn't feel like eating much. So I made the boys mac and cheese and Brandon a cup of noodles. I ended up having left over beans and rice and that was that. It was kind of sad haha but, that happens sometimes. We don't always have things go the way we want it to. haha

After dinner and letting the kids play for a little bit we gave them our Valentines for them. The boys were super excited. We got Emmett some candy and a little Mickey Mouse candy dispenser that talked. He was thrilled!! Ethan and Wyatt got candy and an Avengers Infiniti stone digging thing.

It took Wyatt and Ethan about 30 minutes to dig out their little trinket that was inside the powdery stone. Both Brandon and I agreed we should have gotten more of them. haha After they dug out their little stone or coin it was time to brush teeth and head off to bed. Brandon went to sleep early that night and I finished off the night eating what Brandon and I had left of our snickers concrete mixer from Freddy's and watched a little something on T.V. Then I headed off to sleep in our guest bedroom so I could hopefully help Brandon sleep better because he wouldn't feel me moving around or hear Emmett if he woke up in the middle of the night. So although it was not how I imagined our Valentines Day going it still turned out well. I got to serve my Valentine, the love of my life and I got to make the day feel special for my little Valentines! Plus Brandon was home all day, even if he wasn't feeling well he was still home. haha So I will count my blessings.
