Brandon's birthday and all the fun up to Halloween

Brandon's birthday fell on a Sunday this year. Which also happened to be Conference Sunday. So he got to enjoy Breakfast casserole and Monkey bread for his birthday breakfast. Then we were able to relax and watch some General Conference and do some presents.

He didn't want anything for his birthday. Since we were building a house I tried to keep it simple. I got him some of his favorite blue raspberry licorice. He didnt even want cake. Since we were having all of the monkey bread we ended up not singing to him on his birthday with cake. I was a little bummed but he didn't want it. He gets what he wants on his birthday so oh well!!

Kayden also had a field trip to the pumpkin patch with his preschool. It ended up being so cold that day. We had had really nice weather and then all of a sudden it dropped and it was so windy and cold. I was not super happy to be outside on that day. Of course the day after was nice and warm again.
 Go Figure!!

The kids were told that they could pick 1 pumpkin that they could carry out. Kayden ended up wanting this teeny tiny one. haha

So we let him pick one more slightly bigger one. He thought he would be able to carve it. haha Ya that was not going to happen!

He was pretty happy with his little pumpkins.

Kayden had fun with his little preschool buddies at the pumpkin patch. It was so cold though. So as soon as we could leave I was ready to get out of there and warm up!

This little guy was on my pants. I didn't even know until we were about to get out of the car again at a stone shop. He had really sticky little feet. I had to pull pretty hard to get him off. Kayden thought he was pretty cute!

Then of course we had to stop by the house and see what else had gotten done. Our shower was framed in. Which is pretty cool!

We can't wait till the walls are up!

Kayden absolutely LOVES the Paw Patrol right now and we found a couple of books at the library.  He was so excited!

Then Ethan had a choir concert! He decided to do Choir this year for school and has actually really been liking it! He looks so young being up there. His face from this far reminded me of when he was a little toddler. Boy does time go fast!

Wyatt also finished up soccer in October. He liked soccer but said he wasn't sure if he wanted to do it again because it was a lot of running.

Drawing pickleball lines in our gym! haha Now that it is closed up we could totally play in it!

While they did that I ate some lunch on our soon to be hearth by our fireplace.

Then the boys invited our soon to be neighbors over to play some "Butt ball" in the gym!

So this year we were going to to Tron as our family costumes. Sadly, it was a flop. So we didn't do a family theme this year. Instead I decided last minute that Brandon should go and me and I would go as him. It turned out super funny!! People got a kick out of it at our ward party.

Ethan went as Doctor Strange. He looked so old with the goati that I drew on him and his hair black.

Kayden was stoked about how much candy he got at the trunk or treat. He had to line it up in a row so he could look at all of it.

A little one on one time with Wyatt. Its always fun taking the kids out even just for a treat. Being able to chat with them individually is always a good time.

Then it was my Mom's birthday. So I treated her to Newks for lunch. She had hurt her foot playing pickleball a couple of weeks before this and actually found out that she broke her foot! Not fun!!!

Kayden got to do show and tell at preschool. These are the pictures I was able to get from his teachers.

He really does love preschool! He has some fun teachers. Small Oaks has been a good preschool. Plus its cute that they do bible stories and other religious things.

So we had a Sunday before Halloween that basically the whole family was sick. So I took advantage of the opportunity and we put up the Christmas tree. Since we all stayed home from church I figured why not put up the tree! It was the earliest we have ever put up the tree before.

It was Wyatt's year to put up the star.

It took him a couple of tries to get the star to stay. In fact I don't remember what he was doing but he got really upset. I think we may have teased him because he acted like he knew what we was doing. In reality he didn't. So then when he got teased he got all upset and then didn't want to do it. We remedied the situation and then with Brandon's help he was able to get the star on the tree.

Kayden sure doesn't look very happy to be standing out in the cold for the school costume parade. haha
We went and stood outside Bethke to watch the Halloween costume parade. It was super cold! I even made Kayden some hot chocolate to hold while we waited. It was Wyatt's last year of doing this parade in elementary school. He moves on to middle school next year. Pretty crazy!

Wyatt went as spider man!

Emmett didn't want to dress up at first. Then decided to go as Black Panther when I told him everyone would be dressed up.

Emmett and his friend Ava Horst who he has a crush on. They had so much fun at their class party.

Then Kayden and I met Dad for lunch at Fuzzy's!

Our back sliding doors are in!!! YAY!!

Mummy dogs for dinner!

Then off to go Trick or Treating.

Kayden wanted to ride his scooter this year so he could go faster. Ethan, Wyatt and Emmett when off by themselves on their roller blades so they could hit as many houses as they could and faster. It does feel weird having them get old enough to go off by themselves.

When we got back home Kayden was excited to pass out candy to the other trick or treaters. In fact he was very generous when passing out candy. He was grabbing as much in his hands as he could to give to the trick or treaters. It was really funny to watch!

So much candy! haha They had a fun time trick or treating! Then it was time to go to bed and say good bye to Halloween for another year! Bring on the Christmas music! haha
