Minnesota

On February 20th we headed to the airport to fly to Minnesota to visit Tyrel and Vandy and their little munchkins. We got to the airport thinking that we were getting there right on time but soon found out that our flight had been delayed an hour. So we had to hang out with tired boys in the airport until our flight was finally ready to board. After that everything went smoothly. The boys did a great job on the flight like they always do.

Being weirdos while we were bored at the airport! :-)
Enjoying a smoothy while we waited. Wyatt was pretending to hold his tiny puppy. He likes to do this a lot and always holds his cupped hands up to his face and says, "aww.. nice puppy!" haha so funny

Wyatt's face in this one just cracks me up! I wouldn't want to be stuck in an airport for an extra hour with any one else besides these 3! :-)

After arriving in Minnesota we had to pick up our rental car and then drive to Tyrel and Vandy's place. Luckily it was only about 10 minutes from the airport. By the time we got to their house though it was past dinner time and we were all starving. However, once we got to their house all the boys wanted to do was play with their cousins. They were so excited to play with someone elses toys and their friends after traveling what seemed like all day! So we chowed down some dinner and let the kids play for a little bit and then got them ready for bed.

The boys got to share a room with Kemry. They were so excited!!

A little too excited! They ended up staying up till about 11 every night playing and laughing in the rooms! Crazy little kiddos!

Walking around Mall of America hand in hand!! We were so glad that the cousins got along so well! It was like they had been best friends for years!

The crew!

Pretending to play an arcade game before going into the Water Park of America!

The water park was fun. It was hard to keep everyone together with 4 adults and 4 kids. We kind of just had to split up and keep track of where each of our kids were the whole time. Other than that it was fun and the kids had a blast. What was not fun was walking outside with wet hair and clothes to get to our car in the bitter cold. Minnesota is just a different kind of cold. It is like chill to your bones cold even when the sun is out. Ethan was crying on the way to the car saying that his ear hurt him. I could totally relate and I just had to tell him that the faster we got to the car the faster we could get warm! I don't know how the pioneers did what they did. It was hard enough for us to walk to our car in the cold weather and it always makes me appreciate their dedication even more when we have to walk in the bitter cold for a short distance. I am so glad that Colorado is not that cold. Sure it gets cold, but, if the sun is out it feels pretty good. Even when the sun in shining on your in Minnesota it is like you can't even feel the warmth from the sun with how cold it is!! Pretty crazy!!

This is how the kids ate their meals! haha They thought it was fun and ended up playing more than eating! When does that not happen though! haha

Wyatt has an obsession with glasses! Anytime he finds glasses he has to put them on. In this case it was Mr. Potato heads glasses. Wyatt calls them his "glass" He is a funny kid!

 movie time!

 Cousin love! :-)

We left our swim suits in the car after our water park fun. When I went to get them out on Sunday they were frozen solid!! Just goes to show how cold it was in Minnesota! Way too cold!!!

Sunday we went to church and then hung out the rest of the day playing games. The next morning we had an early morning flight to take. We had planned to spend most of Monday in Minnesota until we realized that our flight was 5:45 am not pm. So we had to wake the boys up at 4:30 that morning (3:30) our time and head to the airport. It was SO cold that morning and the boys were so tired. While getting socks and shoes on Wyatt Brandon stood him up and we thought he was awake until he started falling backwards back onto Brandon. Poor kid was so tired! He then said, "I wanna go to sleep". It was sad having to wake them up so early especially since they were going to bed so late! So we headed to the airport and dropped off the car. It was FREEZING and we had to get both of the carseats out of the car and carry them and the suitcase to the entrance which was no where near where we had to park the car. We were all freezing and tired. It was a rough morning but the boys were yet again champs!

All smiles!! We seriously have the best little travelers!!

Wyatt fought going to sleep for quite some time on the flight but finally caved. Ethan was awake for just a little bit playing some games and when I took it away he curled up on the chair and fell asleep!

It is hard traveling while pregnant! I had a rough time with that flight! As soon as I am up for a little while I get hungry and even though it was super early I was thirsty and hungry but had no time to fill up my water or grab something to eat by the time we got to the airport. We got to our terminal and no one was there. So we walked right onto the plane thinking we were the ones holding it. Come to find out there were quite a few more people that were later than us. So we totally could have grabbed a breakfast sandwich from Burger King which was right outside our gate. So I was hungry and thirsty and exhausted from carrying a lot of stuff and being in a hurry. Then sitting in the airplane for another half hour with my chair as straight as it could be I started to not feel too hot. Then once we started taking off everything got worse. My neck and shoulders were aching and I could barely hold my head up. I felt like I was going to throw up and pass out at the same time. Then my hand went numb! Brandon got really worried and called one of the flight attendants over and got me some water. After I drank a little water I felt a little better but my body was still week. So as soon as they came around to take orders Brandon bought some beef jerky for me and we got some more water! It seriously took it out of me the rest of the day I just felt off! I have never had that happen before and if I ever fly again being pregnant I will make sure to eat and drink something before I board a plane! The rest of the plane ride went fine and by the time we got to our car we were ready to be done traveling. I was still hungry and so we stopped at the nearest McDonalds and got some breakfast for all of us and let the boys run around and play for a little bit. By the time we got home Brandon could barely keep his eyes open and fell asleep on the couch within minutes. So I put some cartoons on for the boys and gave them some cereal so I could go shower. After that I put the boys down for naps and I went to sleep. We got some good naps in that day! Ethan took about a 5 hour nap and Wyatt got probably 3.

After that long day we decided to hit Texas Road House for dinner so we could eat something better than fast food.

It was yummy as always and since it was Monday night it was kids night. So the boys were able to eat free and get ice cream after their meal for free. They also got to join in on an applesauce eating contest which they didnt really know what to think about! haha Then at the end our server told us that our bill had been taken care of by someone. She said she was not aloud to say by who but that it was taken care of. It was so nice of someone to do that. The rest of the evening we kept looking around guessing as to who might have done it. We have always planned on doing that for people when we are older and are in a situation where we can. So it was pretty cool having it happen to us!
Overall the trip was quick but fun. We had never met Tate (their little boy) in person before so it was fun being able to see him for the first time. Plus we were able to see where Tyrel and Vandy lived and hangout with them again which was fun!
