9 months old already!!

Kayden also hit 9 months old while the cousins were here. I still can't believe how fast he is growing up. It is fun and sad all at the same time. On Sunday the 16th of February Kayden hit 9 months old and had his first tooth finally pop through. All of our other boys had their first teeth around 6 months old so it was crazy having his tooth not come in until he hit 9 months. We were sure glad when it finally popped through. He had been a little grumpier than usual and I was ready for his tooth to come through so we could have our sweet happy Kayden back.

Look at that sweet face!!!

Kayden has been such a joy in our lives. He has been doing such a great job with army crawling. He is getting faster and faster each day. He will say, "mama" quite often and I think I am counting it as his first word. haha He has been becoming difficult with bottle feeding. He is so bored of bottles that when I try holding him and feeding him he gets all upset after a few minutes and tries getting away. So we have had to start feeding him while holding him and then when he starts to wiggle we put him on the couch and hand him something to play with while we hold his bottle so that he will drink the rest. What a little stinker he is. haha It will be nice when he doesn't need bottles anymore just for that reason. At 9 months old I was still waking him up at night to feed him a bottle. He was not getting much formula during the day. He just seemed so bored that he could care less to drink a lot. I knew he would drink a full bottle late at night so I kept doing that. Plus I was then able to cuddle with him which is always a plus!! Especially since I was going to be leaving for a week soon and I wanted to get as many cuddles in as I could! I am so glad that he is such a happy baby! He has been such a joy and I just love that he is happy in the mornings when he wakes up. Some times he doesn't even make noises when he wakes up from a nap. He just rolls around and I will check on the monitor because I think I hear something and sure enough he is in his bed awake just hanging out. It is so cute!! We sure do love our sweet little Kayden and are excited to see what the future brings with him in our family!!!

Watching the cousins!

Saturday morning we were officially in charge of our nieces and nephews. Brandon took Ethan to his basketball game that morning and then afterwards I took the girls out for some girl time. I wanted to get my nails done for mine and Brandon's upcoming trip so I decided to take the girls out with me and let them get their nails done too.

I think getting toes done is probably more fun. Especially since we would have been able to sit next to each other. Instead me and Kemry were next to each other and Piper was behind us. They both seemed pretty shy. Piper looked almost nervous and I felt bad. She was also super tired so that didn't help. It was still fun and I enjoyed having to girly time with my nieces.

Plus our nails just looked so cute!!! :-)
On our way home I decided to stop at 7 eleven and grab a soda for me and decided to get the girls a slurpee to end our fun. As we arrived at 7 eleven Piper looked like she was going to cry. When I asked her what was wrong she said she had to go potty really bad. I felt so bad and yet she had not said a word until that moment that she had to go to the bathroom. So thankfully I had stopped so she could go. Then we grabbed our drinks and went to pay and leave. When I went in my purse to get some money for the drinks I couldn't find my wallet. I started to frantically look as I realized that it was not in there. The cashier was nice enough and said it was on the house. She told me good luck finding my wallet and that we all have those days. So we thanked her and I got back in the car and called the nail salon. Thankfully they had it and it had not been taken. That was the last place I had it out. I must have put it on the counter when I had the lady take our picture and then spaced it. I was so glad I decided to stop and get drinks or I would not have known possibly for days that my wallet was missing. So I was so grateful for my soda craving! 😜 haha

While us girls were off getting our nails done Brandon braved taking all of the boys to Scheels to play for a bit.

Brandon said that they actually did a good job at sticking together.

He said that Wyatt and Ethan were really good with Beckham and helped out a lot with him.

After we all were back at the house I took Wyatt out for some one on one time. The previous week I had been super stressed and grumpy and the kids were getting the brunt of it. Wyatt asked me one day, "Mom, Why are you so mad all the time?" The next day he asked, "Mom, do you like being a Mom?" That one hit me hard. I explained to him that of course I liked being a Mom. I cried a little that evening when I took Ethan to basketball practice. I sat in the car for a few extra minutes and prayed to Heavenly Father to help me be in a better mood and to know how to handle the stresses that I was going through better so that my kids know how much I love them and I can be a good, happy and fun Mom again. So after talking with Brandon about it we decided it would be good for me to have some one on one time with Wyatt before we took off on our trip. Wyatt has always been more emotional than his brothers and I didn't want to leave for a week with him possibly still thinking that I didn't like being a Mom. So I took him out for some ice cream at Chick-Fil-A.

It was a lot of fun. I addressed the issue and his question a little bit more and explained how much was going on and why I was feeling so stressed. I told him how Emmett had been being so out of control and then they got the flu and I was trying to keep Kayden from getting it because of his test coming up that I was already nervous about. Plus the fact that we were going to be watching the cousins that weekend and our trip was coming up. There was so much going on that it was hard to not feel stressed out. So after explaining to him everything we were able to just talk for a bit. We enjoyed our ice cream and I talked to him a little bit more about school and his friends and everything. It was a great time. At one point he told me how it was funny that we were eating food on our one on one. I then told him that most of my dates I do with Dad are going and eating food and talking and then maybe doing something after. He was kind of blown away by that. It was pretty funny! After finishing up some ice cream we headed back to the house and all the chaos.

I took this picture to show Wyatt that he had a little bit of a black eye. He had gotten hit in the nose that week at school. He didn't make too much of a fuss about it but the nurse had told me he had come in because of it. I didn't think he was hit that hard but he had a little bit of a black eye. Pretty crazy!

The rest of the day was spent managing chaos. haha The kids were able to play outside a bit and they played in the basement a lot.

I even brought Kayden outside for a little bit of fresh air.

He seemed to enjoy it! :-)

The kids had fun playing outside when it wasn't too cold.

Other wise they played games inside.

And attacking Brandon is always a fun thing to do.

The kids were pretty good at playing with each other. They had some fights every now and then. Mostly Beckham and Emmett would fight. There was a constant yell of "Emmett!!!" in our house from Beckham.

Video chatting on Sunday with the crew!!

Getting some wiggles out with Go Noodle.

And there is always a Talent show performance when we have Kemry around. haha

The kids enjoy showing off their awesome talents. haha It is pretty fun to watch!

Look at that model pose! haha
Beckham must have been feeling tired because I found him cuddling with the trash can one afternoon. haha

We ended the last night with pizza and a movie in the basement. The kids were so excited and we almost ate 2 Costco pizzas!! These kids can pound it!! haha After some pizza the kids went downstairs to have popcorn and watch a movie! Then it was bed time and Brandon and I signed a breath of relief. Our crazy 4 days was ending. Everything went pretty well for the most part. Beckham and Emmett were the hardest part of the week. They just cannot seem to get along. Beckham yelled at Emmett like every 5 minuets and it got old really quick. I was mostly ready for that part of the week to be over. haha Plus after all of that Emmett always seems to act worse than normal. In fact that Tuesday when he went back to school his teacher Jamie Bohn told me that he was more defiant than normal. She would ask him to do something and he would just tell her no. She said that it wasn't like him to be like that. She also told me that he wasn't being bad he just wasn't wanting to listen and do what she said. I told her we had just had cousins over for the past 5 days and that always takes a toll of him. She understood and was just so glad that I was going to get a break and be on a beach soon. haha Brandon's parents arrived Wednesday night to watch the kiddos. So we had basically 2 days to get laundry and shopping done and have things cleaned up for them to arrive. It was a really bonkers week.

An eventful Valentines day

On February 13th Tyrel and Vandy showed up with their kiddos. They were going to watch our kids the next day while we took Kayden in for more testing at the Children's hospital. So on Valentines day February 14th 2020 we woke up early in the morning to drive down to the Children's hospital in Denver. We were not super excited for this since Kayden was going to be put under so they could put an I.V in and overload his kidney's to see why his one kidney was not draining. We were a little nervous on how he would handle being put under with anesthesia. Anyways, we arrived and got all check in and answered a bunch of questions and then waited until they were ready for us to go back. Kayden is so funny when he has nurses or doctors checking his vitals he just sits still and lets them listen to his heart and lungs and take his temperature. It is pretty cute. Anytime he has something give him a check up they always mention how good he is being. I am sure it is just because he is super nervous but it is pretty cute that he just sits there super still and lets them get what they need to get done done. What was hard about that morning is that Kayden couldn't have anything to eat or drink that morning and our normal time was pushed back because someone else was late. So we had to wait about another half hour in that little tiny room trying to keep Kayden occupied. He wanted to roll around and army crawl places but there was no where to put him down except for on the bed. So we tried that every once in a while and he did ok for the most part. Then he would try to roll or scoot and would get frustrated because we wouldn't let him go very far. haha He handled it well for the most part and we just did our best and keeping him happy while we waited.

What a cute little guy in his hospital gown!

He couldn't get enough of the straps on his wrists. Yum!! haha

Doing anything we can to keep him happy and occupied.

What a sweet little boy!!
After waiting for about an hour in that room it was finally time to head back. We were not able to be in the room with him because he was younger than 1 which seemed weird. So they had us give him one last hug and kiss goodbye and then my little baby was in the hands of doctors and nurses. That was the hardest part of the whole thing. I felt like I was leaving part of my heart in that room. It was so hard to leave him in there with those other ladies. I wanted to be there with him. I knew they would take good care of him but at the same time its not their baby its mine and no one takes better care of him than his mommy!! Plus I wanted to be there to help comfort him if he needed it. But sadly, I couldn't be. So I shed a few tears as we headed out the doors and started walking around. Then the wait began. We had to wait a little over an hour. After close to an hour we saw some ultrasound tech people heading to the area Kayden was in and figured they were doing his ultrasound right then and there as well which was a good thing. Once that was all done it was time for us to go back and see our sweet little Kayden. We had a buzzer and when it buzzed I was very anxious to go see how he was doing. As we were walked back to where he was I heard crying. I was hoping it wasn't him but sure enough it was. One of the docs or nurses was holding him trying to consul him. He was so incredibly sad. So they put him on the bed and I started to talk to him. He then started to calm down for a second. His eyes were still closed but he heard me and that helped him for a minute and then he just kept crying. They were trying to feed him a bottle but with little success. So I tried feeding him a bottle. Which of course we forgot the slower flowing nipple to his bottle and when he is tired he does not like it when the milk comes out too fast. So he kept acting like he wanted the bottle and then would pull away and cry. He was so tired that he was having a hard time staying conscious  enough to drink much of his bottle at all. It was so sad to see him so sad. After not being able to get him to drink a bottle we gave up and decided to try later. We got him dressed and put him in his stroller to let him try and fall asleep.

After checking out we walked over to the radio station in the hospital where they were giving out stuffed animals and Valentines activities for the kids at the hospital. So we got him a little froggy. He was happy for a second when I handed it to him but then started crying again. So I put him in his stroller and just started walking him around.

Such a sad little face. He was so sad I so very tired! So I just walked around while we waited to get the images from the testing onto a CD. Kayden finally fell asleep after walking around for a little bit. He slept for about an hour and a half. We went to lunch and he slept the whole time in his car seat even with all the noise around us. He does not do that really anymore. So I knew he was super tired and I was glad that he was sleeping so well. After a good nap he finally woke up and he was so much happier after that. He gave me some good smiles and drank a little bit of a bottle. By that evening he was back to himself. We made it home to the chaos of 8 kids in one household and tried to enjoy the rest of our Valentines Day with Ty and Vandy.
