Shortly after Halloween it was time for a trip. We had planned an adults only trip on the Murri side about a year before. So on November 4th we headed out on an airplane to the D.R.
We were super excited to go have a vacation. However, the one thing I was not planning on was being injured still. I had gone through 8 appointments of physical therapy hoping that I would be better by the time we left. Sadly, that did not happen. I was a little bit better than before but not awesome. Which was a bummer because I had been looking forward to being super active and super fit for our trip. Instead I was the complete opposite! We were still excited to go and enjoy the warm sun.
We had our first flight into North Carolina and stayed the night in a hotel since our next flight was not until early the next morning.
Waiting for our next flight to take us to the humid warmth!
After waiting for Tyrel and Vandy who got taken into the back for some odd reason we found a ride to our final destination for the week!
Hello Melia!!
We were so excited to be there and the place was so pretty!! We spent the next 5 days sitting by the beach, getting in the pool a bit, drinking lots of fruity drinks, eating way too much, walking the beach for miles and playing games.
There was a grocery store not too far from the resort. So Tyrel and Brandon walked to it one day to get some merengue and snacks.
We also went on one excursion. We went to the scape park for one of the days. It was a long afternoon but it was fun. Lots of walking around. We were able to go to Hoyo Azul again as well as a water cave, waterfall pool they made and a bat cave. It was a fun afternoon.
Then the second to last day of our trip we were scheduled to go on a tour of a dental facility. The guy who was driving us around took us to a couple of little towns that they help out and then to a school before heading to the dental facitlity.
Before heading back to the resort they took us to an authentic Dominican restaurant. The food was super tasty and the fruit drinks were amazing!!
We had some pretty ominous clouds the last day we were there. Luckily, it didn't rain much and we were able to enjoy our last day.
It was a fun trip. I was not able to do as much as I would have like to but I was able to enjoy the trip with not a ton of pain and I was able to function enough to have fun. It was a good trip but we were ready to get back to our kiddos!
