No training Wheels!!!

October 3rd Emmett was ready to try riding his bike without training wheels again. He kept telling me that he wanted Daddy to take off his baby wheels. So on a Friday when Brandon was home he took them off. Emmett caught on pretty quick this time. He had a hard time starting and stopping which is normal for his first time with no training wheels. 

Then he fell once and hurt himself. But, he hopped right back on his bike after and kept trying. 

He then said he wanted to ride his bike to go pick up Wyatt from school. He did a great job riding all the way to Bethke. Once we got there he was so excited to show Wyatt how he can ride his bike with no baby wheels. As soon as he saw Wyatt he hopped on his bike and started all by himself and stopped all by himself. All he needed was his brother to see him so he could gain confidence and take off by himself. After that he had riding his bike down with no problems. I still can't believe how fast he picked up on stoping and going all by himself. He was pretty proud of himself too! 

Brandons Birthday

October 1st is a good day at our house. It is the day we get to celebrate an AMAZING Mans birthday. That's right its Brandon's birthday! We feel truly blessed to have this handsome guy in our lives. 

We started Brandon's birthday off by going out to breakfast with just Emmett. Wyatt and Ethan were in school. Brandon wanted to try out a place called "Dave's Day Diner" It was ok. Nothing too exciting and I wouldn't go back and spend that kind of money on eating breakfast there. I would rather go eat at Snooze. Which Brandon agreed Snooze was way better. haha 

It was fun to get out and enjoy breakfast together though. 

After breakfast Brandon had a golf tournament to go to. Which was sad for us because we didn't get to spend his birthday with him but at least he got to spend his 36th Birthday golfing which he loves to do. That evening he got home and was able to eat some lemon cake and open a few presents with us before the boys headed off to bed. 

The boys were pretty bummed that they only got to see Brandon for like an hour that evening before they had to go to bed but they were super excited to have cake with him and to give him presents. This guy makes our world go round! He is so loving and the best Dad to his boys and the best Husband and Eternal Companion that I could ever ask for. Happy Birthday to this Stud Muffin! We sure do love him!!! 

Fun Run, Night out and Relief Society Retreat

The last bit of September the boys also had a couple of fun runs for their school. Of course they had to fall on the hottest days of the week. The kids were excited to run. Sadly, I couldn't run with them this time. With being pregnant I knew my back would kill me. Thankfully the boys had friends to run with. 

The boys did a great job. 

Then we got to go to the Summit for a Doctors office patient appreciation event. The boys each were given a game card to play a few games. They were super excited. We thought we would go bowling but it was so packed that the wait was like 2 hours to be able to go bowling. So we played in the arcade and then went home. 

The boys were bummed that we didn't get to go bowling but they had fun in the arcade. 

Also, our ward did their very first Relief Society Retreat. We went up to Estes Park and stayed in a members cabin. It was a nice place with a super beautiful view. 

There was also this really cool tree house that the owner had built. It had a trap door and everything. It was really cool. I wasn't sure that I wanted to go because I had not been feeling all that great in this pregnancy. We had also been super busy lately and I was looking forward to just relaxing at home. Despite that I decided to go. It was a fun evening but we stayed up way too late. We were up until like 2 in the morning. So with going to bed super late and then not checking the plug on my air mattress I did not sleep well. I had brought my nice air mattress so I could sleep well and not have my back hurt but I didn't check the plug to make sure it was sealed and about 2 hours after going to sleep I woke up in a hammock. Since everyone else was now asleep I couldn't fix it and blow it back up. So I ended up sleeping on the couch next to me and that was not comfy at all. So I did not get much sleep. I was so tired the next day! I could barely function properly which was a bad thing because we had a couples golf date night that evening after getting home. So I wasn't able to take a nap. I was so incredibly tired I am surprised that I made it through the evening of golf. haha

Helping Beautify the Temple

On September 27th Wyatt, Emmett and I went to the Temple grounds to help plant flowers for the spring time. They had announced it at church and I thought it could be a cool experience for Wyatt and Emmett to come with me and do a little yard work to help make the Temple grounds pretty in the spring. There was a lot of work to be done and I was newly pregnant and not feeling that great and hunching down for a while made my back hurt. However, we did it and in the spring we will get to see some of our hard work bloom! :-)

The boys helped a good amount. I thought they would have more fun with it then they did since we were digging in the dirt. I was wrong. haha After a little bit they ran off and were walking around the fountains and not wanting to work. Oh well, they did some good work and at least they helped a little bit. 

Enjoying the rest of September

The end of September we were able to enjoy being outside and just having some fun before it started to get colder in October.

We got out and enjoyed going golfing as a family.

The boys love getting out and doing "Big Golf" as they say it. Especially when they get to drive the carts. haha

These boys are so funny. Even when I tell them that these power wheels are not charged they still grab them and drive them around. They last for a minute and then they realize I was right and have to push whoever is on it up the drive way.

Emmett was so close to being potty trained but if we put a pull up on him he wouldn't care to go potty in the toilet. He wasn't super excited about any of the underwear we already had at home so I decided that maybe he would like it if we bought him some Mickey Mouse underwear. At first he didn't seem to want it. However, once he saw the Mickey underwear he wanted it. He did so much better with finishing up his potty training once he had cool Mickey and the Roadster Racers underwear. He didn't want to pee in Mickey! He had a few accidents here and there but nothing big and he really liked keeping them dry. So if he did pee in them a tiny bit he would want to get new clean underwear.

We had a winner! :-) Look at how happy he was to be wearing his underwear! He is getting so big!!!

Emmett also tried out the big kid swings for the first time in September. For it being his first time he was doing a great job with pumping his legs. It was so cute watching him lean all the way back into his swing. haha

Brandon and I also got to get out to a CSU game just the two of us!! It was a fun outing! Nice weather and just fun to get away just us 2 weirdos! :-) Love this Man!!!
