Well it has been a while since I have updated my blog so here is some things I should have posted about a while ago. For starters before Ethan's birthday we let him open his first birthday present, his forward facing car seat! We wanted to put him in it for our drive to California so we opened it that week before we left for Cali.
He looks so cute and so big in his new car seat! He really liked it except he was not used to sleeping in it so that made the drive a little tough when he was extremely tired and could not stay asleep. Other than that though he really enjoyed being able to see us and everything else! We had a great weekend in California. We just hungout with my parents and relaxed and played with Ethan. It was fun except for the fact that we had to drive home on the Fourth of July so Ethans first 4th of July was not the best. We spent a good part of the day driving home and then when we got home it was 100 degrees in our house! So it was kind of miserable, and then we were not sure if the fireworks at the stadium were even going to happen because it was getting windy. However, thankfully they did happen so we sat in our backyard and watched them for a little while until Ethan got really grumpy and was ready for bed. He seemed to like the fireworks though! :-) So it turned out to be an ok 4th of July after all!

It would have been even better if we could have just stayed in California on the 4th but Brandon had school the next day so we kind of had to get home, and although we drove for some of it we still were able to enjoy some fireworks and that is the best part of the 4th of July! :-)
