Jim Gaffigan

On April 26th we headed down to Colorado Springs to go see the Jim Gaffigan show. I was 36 weeks pregnant and hoping that I would be able to enjoy the evening. We got to Colorado Springs shortly after lunch and hung out for a little bit. Then we took the kids to the park before Ty and Vandy's friends got their to watch all the kiddos.

Emmett thought hanging was fun until it wasn't anymore. haha He liked it until he got tired and needed to get down. Brandon was having the kids drop and he would catch them. He did not like that idea and started to flip out when Brandon told him to just let go and he would catch him. I felt so bad. I wanted to just hold him but my tummy was just too big.

Then he thought he could be brave and tried again. He did a great job the second time and was all smiles and even let go to let Brandon catch him and didn't cry.

After the park and some more chill time we said good night to our kiddos and took off to go get some dinner at a place called "The Skirted Hefer". It is a burger joint that was featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. It was actually really tasty!! It took a long time to get our food and the place was tiny so we were not even sure if we would get a seat. Sadly, my back was starting to hurt me where my kidney issue was a few weeks back. So I was all worried that that was going to get worse. My back was killing me in more places than one and I was so miserable. Plus I didn't have any tylenol with me that I could take. So I just had to hope that drinking more water would help. It helped a little bit but not much. So we ate our yummy dinner and then headed to the show.

It was a good show. Lots of funny parts in it although I had a hard time enjoying it. My back near my kidney was hurting me the whole time and my legs got all restless. Plus it was super hot in there. It was not a good mix and I was bummed that I didn't get to really enjoy it. Then I started to have contractions. I was having some pretty painful contractions and I was afraid I was going to go into labor that night. So I didn't sleep very much. I was up constantly going to the bathroom and hoping that I wasn't going to have to wake up Brandon and go to a hospital somewhere. Thankfully that didn't happen. I just didn't sleep much and was yet again miserable. haha

Saturday we relaxed for a little while and I took a nap or 2 haha and then we took the kids to go play mini golf.

I was having some major pains down yonder the whole time we were golfing. The kids had so much fun though and that always makes it worth it. After hanging out and eating some dinner we headed home. I didn't want to sleep another night on an air mattress. One night was long enough. Plus I was still worried about going into labor in Colorado Springs since I was still having contractions quite often. So it was a sense of relief when we made it home safe and sound that evening.

We ended out weekend with a normal Sunday and yummy fried tortillas in cinnamon and sugar with some ice cream. It was a great end to the weekend.

Easter

With how awful I was always feeling this pregnancy I didn't do much to get prepared for Easter. I didn't plan any amazing Easter lessons or anything. I really just felt like I as surviving each day. So the day before Easter we finally dyed some eggs. They boys were pretty excited to do it but Emmett was the most excited. Ethan and Wyatt kept running off to the couch to watch the show we had on and Emmett excitedly stayed at the table waiting and watching his eggs in the coloring till they were ready to be taken out.

These Boys are seriously the cutest!!! Man we make some cute kids!!!

The next morning the boys ran into our room telling us that the Easter Bunny came. Wyatt said that the Easter bunny pooped on our counter. haha

Here was the bunny poop that was all over our house. haha Silly kids! It is all the movie "Hop"'s fault for having the Easter bunny poop jelly beans.

After coming downstairs and seeing that the Easter Bunny had come we made our way to the basement to see where their baskets had been hidden. The boys hit the jackpot this year from the Easter Bunny!!

Right before heading to church Brandon and I went out in the backyard and hid some easter eggs for the boys to find.

They were each allowed to find 12 eggs. They had fun doing the little egg hunt. I was glad that I mentioned doing the egg hunt before church because it was raining as we left church. Then it was time to head to church and then try to remind the boys that we really celebrate easter to remember the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. It was a good Easter Sunday!!

April festivities

April started out not the greatest. March 31st I kept having an achy pain in my side towards my back. It wasn't a ligament pain but it kept hurting me off and on throughout the day. I wasn't sure why it was hurting or what was causing it. Then later that night it came back and was worse. I took a shower thinking maybe it would help to take the pain away but it just kept getting worse. So I tried to go to bed but it would hurt even worse as I laid on my side which was the only way I could lay since I was hugely pregnant. It kept getting worse so I decided to lay on the couch downstairs. Then I thought maybe it was just bad gas trapped in my huge stomach. Nothing was really helping. I kept praying asking for help and for it to go away or to at least be able to sleep and make it till morning so I could call my doctor and ask her about it. Well that didn't work. I had a tiny break where the pain wasnt as bad so I thought maybe I could get some sleep in my bed again. When I laid back in bed on my side the pain came back with a vengeance. I could barely breath by that point and woke up Brandon and asked him to give me a priesthood blessing. I was shaking from the pain and trying to breath. I couldn't hold back the tears by that point and Brandon decided that we needed to go to the hospital. So he got up and got dressed and I put some clothes on and then we headed to the hospital. I was in so much pain. Since I have had a c-section I wasn't sure what was going on. The whole left side of my stomach was in searing pain. Then it would get worse with any contractions I was having. I was worried something was going wrong and hoping that it didn't have to do with my scar or uterus separating or something serious like that.

So yes we ended up in the ER at Banner Health hospital. It was the closest hospital and since it was 2 in the morning we didn't call anyone to watch the house and the boys while we were gone. We figured we would just get to the hospital and get me situated and then Brandon could head back home. Thankfully no one woke up while we were gone. After getting checked in the nurse told me to breath deep and slow like I was in labor. It was so hard to breath with how bad it was hurting so I had to slow down my breathing and consentrate. After a little while I went to the bathroom to leave a sample and man I hurt walking into the bathroom and as I squatted I was crying and then after I left my sample I stood up and as I walked back to the bed the pain started to go away. I ended up staying in the hospital for about 4 hours and then was discharged. They said that it sounded like I had a kidney stone. With where my pain was and the fact that it hurt when I laid on that side the doctor was pretty sure it was a kidney stone. So after making sure my contractions settled down (they were coming 5 minutes apart) and I didn't go into labor I was sent home and told to take tylenol for the pain and drink a ton of water. So that is what I did. Thankfully Brandon's schedule at work that day was incredibly light. He only had 1 patient scheduled for the morning so he took the morning off so that he could sleep a little bit and I could sleep after the really long night we had. That next day I was so exhausted. I didn't do much. I let the kids watch TV pretty much all day and I slept off and on and drank a ton of water. I didn't even feel like eating much. It was really miserable. The more water I drank the better I felt so I was drinking probably 120 oz of water each day. If I didn't drink at least 10 cups of water my back would start to ache again. So I made sure to drink a lot of water each day so that I didn't have that happen. Thankfully my pain never got that bad again. I must have had a kidney stone and passed it while I was in the ER. We will never know for sure. Then of course as we were leaving the ER we were told that Banner didn't contract with our Anthem Blue Cross insurance. I mean really?? Its a hospital! They should take most big insurance carriers. So that was exciting. I felt bad that I was now causing Brandon more financial stress. Thankfully I am married to the most amazing man in the whole entire world and he could care less. Or at least he didn't let me know that it affected him. He just wanted to make sure that me and baby were ok. What was ironic was that we realized as we were there in the ER that it was now April 1st. We were in the ER on April fools day. What an April Fools joke on us! Holy cow!

After all that fun we had a more normal rest of the month.

The boys decided that they wanted to take our all of their marshmallows in their Lucky Charms and eat it later. haha Ethan said he had over 100 marshmallows all just from the bowl he poured himself. I still don't know how that happened, that is a ton of marshmallows. haha

The boys filled up their chore rock jar all the way and we were going to go bowling. However, when we got to the arcade they decided they wanted to play the arcade games instead. So that is what we did.

What better way to spend a warm afternoon then eating a fudge bar outside.

34 weeks! Getting so close and yet so far!

The boys got to have crazy hair day at school. They were super excited that I had colored hair spray for their hair. We even put a "W" in Wyatt' hair.

I don't get to the park much with the boys because I can't handle sitting on hard chairs or walking around for long. I told Wyatt that if he would stay with Emmett I would take them to the silos park. So he did and they had fun for a while. I was miserable the whole time but at least they had some fun.

Brandon and I took Emmett out to breakfast one morning and Brandon showed Emmett the Audi R8 that parks in front of The Original Pancake House. Emmett was super excited. He loves Audi R8's just like his daddy.

We had a tasty breakfast that morning.

We also started swim lessons in April. I figured the boys needed to get better at swimming before the summer since I wont be able to be in the water with them for quite some time. Sure their Dad will take them to the pool but it was about time that we got them all signed up for some swim lessons. Hopefully what they learned sticks and they use it this summer. Especially since we lost our floaties and had to buy 1 new one for Emmett this summer.

They were all super excited to go to swim lessons. Emmett however, is such a shy little guy. He didn't say much of anything and would just nod and then do what the life guard told him to do. It was cute to watch him and my little mommy heart would stop a beat when they were jumping into the deep end to the life guard and having to climb out of the pool without the life guard paying attention. Oh, and I do have to mention that when they were getting to know each other at their first lesson Emmett's life guard asked what their favorite flavor of ice cream was. When it came to Emmett's turn he said his favorite flavor of ice cream was Mac and Cheese. haha What a nut! He couldn't have said chocolate or something normal!? haha So silly! He gets so nervous and shy around people he doesn't know. I think it is the cutest thing actually! 😃

When it is the morning and I have let Emmett watch too much TV already I tell him to pick out some books so we can read. This one time I think it was at least 15 books that he grabbed for me to read. We read for at least 30 minutes. Probably more. He was super excited about it too. I was having a hard time staying awake and I was the one reading. haha But really how could I say no to that cute little face!
