April started out not the greatest. March 31st I kept having an achy pain in my side towards my back. It wasn't a ligament pain but it kept hurting me off and on throughout the day. I wasn't sure why it was hurting or what was causing it. Then later that night it came back and was worse. I took a shower thinking maybe it would help to take the pain away but it just kept getting worse. So I tried to go to bed but it would hurt even worse as I laid on my side which was the only way I could lay since I was hugely pregnant. It kept getting worse so I decided to lay on the couch downstairs. Then I thought maybe it was just bad gas trapped in my huge stomach. Nothing was really helping. I kept praying asking for help and for it to go away or to at least be able to sleep and make it till morning so I could call my doctor and ask her about it. Well that didn't work. I had a tiny break where the pain wasnt as bad so I thought maybe I could get some sleep in my bed again. When I laid back in bed on my side the pain came back with a vengeance. I could barely breath by that point and woke up Brandon and asked him to give me a priesthood blessing. I was shaking from the pain and trying to breath. I couldn't hold back the tears by that point and Brandon decided that we needed to go to the hospital. So he got up and got dressed and I put some clothes on and then we headed to the hospital. I was in so much pain. Since I have had a c-section I wasn't sure what was going on. The whole left side of my stomach was in searing pain. Then it would get worse with any contractions I was having. I was worried something was going wrong and hoping that it didn't have to do with my scar or uterus separating or something serious like that.
So yes we ended up in the ER at Banner Health hospital. It was the closest hospital and since it was 2 in the morning we didn't call anyone to watch the house and the boys while we were gone. We figured we would just get to the hospital and get me situated and then Brandon could head back home. Thankfully no one woke up while we were gone. After getting checked in the nurse told me to breath deep and slow like I was in labor. It was so hard to breath with how bad it was hurting so I had to slow down my breathing and consentrate. After a little while I went to the bathroom to leave a sample and man I hurt walking into the bathroom and as I squatted I was crying and then after I left my sample I stood up and as I walked back to the bed the pain started to go away. I ended up staying in the hospital for about 4 hours and then was discharged. They said that it sounded like I had a kidney stone. With where my pain was and the fact that it hurt when I laid on that side the doctor was pretty sure it was a kidney stone. So after making sure my contractions settled down (they were coming 5 minutes apart) and I didn't go into labor I was sent home and told to take tylenol for the pain and drink a ton of water. So that is what I did. Thankfully Brandon's schedule at work that day was incredibly light. He only had 1 patient scheduled for the morning so he took the morning off so that he could sleep a little bit and I could sleep after the really long night we had. That next day I was so exhausted. I didn't do much. I let the kids watch TV pretty much all day and I slept off and on and drank a ton of water. I didn't even feel like eating much. It was really miserable. The more water I drank the better I felt so I was drinking probably 120 oz of water each day. If I didn't drink at least 10 cups of water my back would start to ache again. So I made sure to drink a lot of water each day so that I didn't have that happen. Thankfully my pain never got that bad again. I must have had a kidney stone and passed it while I was in the ER. We will never know for sure. Then of course as we were leaving the ER we were told that Banner didn't contract with our Anthem Blue Cross insurance. I mean really?? Its a hospital! They should take most big insurance carriers. So that was exciting. I felt bad that I was now causing Brandon more financial stress. Thankfully I am married to the most amazing man in the whole entire world and he could care less. Or at least he didn't let me know that it affected him. He just wanted to make sure that me and baby were ok. What was ironic was that we realized as we were there in the ER that it was now April 1st. We were in the ER on April fools day. What an April Fools joke on us! Holy cow!
After all that fun we had a more normal rest of the month.
The boys decided that they wanted to take our all of their marshmallows in their Lucky Charms and eat it later. haha Ethan said he had over 100 marshmallows all just from the bowl he poured himself. I still don't know how that happened, that is a ton of marshmallows. haha
The boys filled up their chore rock jar all the way and we were going to go bowling. However, when we got to the arcade they decided they wanted to play the arcade games instead. So that is what we did.
What better way to spend a warm afternoon then eating a fudge bar outside.
34 weeks! Getting so close and yet so far!
The boys got to have crazy hair day at school. They were super excited that I had colored hair spray for their hair. We even put a "W" in Wyatt' hair.
I don't get to the park much with the boys because I can't handle sitting on hard chairs or walking around for long. I told Wyatt that if he would stay with Emmett I would take them to the silos park. So he did and they had fun for a while. I was miserable the whole time but at least they had some fun.
Brandon and I took Emmett out to breakfast one morning and Brandon showed Emmett the Audi R8 that parks in front of The Original Pancake House. Emmett was super excited. He loves Audi R8's just like his daddy.
We had a tasty breakfast that morning.
We also started swim lessons in April. I figured the boys needed to get better at swimming before the summer since I wont be able to be in the water with them for quite some time. Sure their Dad will take them to the pool but it was about time that we got them all signed up for some swim lessons. Hopefully what they learned sticks and they use it this summer. Especially since we lost our floaties and had to buy 1 new one for Emmett this summer.
They were all super excited to go to swim lessons. Emmett however, is such a shy little guy. He didn't say much of anything and would just nod and then do what the life guard told him to do. It was cute to watch him and my little mommy heart would stop a beat when they were jumping into the deep end to the life guard and having to climb out of the pool without the life guard paying attention. Oh, and I do have to mention that when they were getting to know each other at their first lesson Emmett's life guard asked what their favorite flavor of ice cream was. When it came to Emmett's turn he said his favorite flavor of ice cream was Mac and Cheese. haha What a nut! He couldn't have said chocolate or something normal!? haha So silly! He gets so nervous and shy around people he doesn't know. I think it is the cutest thing actually! 😃
When it is the morning and I have let Emmett watch too much TV already I tell him to pick out some books so we can read. This one time I think it was at least 15 books that he grabbed for me to read. We read for at least 30 minutes. Probably more. He was super excited about it too. I was having a hard time staying awake and I was the one reading. haha But really how could I say no to that cute little face!
