Kayden was so excited for his birthday. I think he told anyone that would listen for like a week that his Birthday was coming soon. It was so cute! So when his Birthday finally came he was so happy. That and he understood a little bit more this year what having a birthday meant for him. He couldn't wait to open up presents. In fact that is like the first thing he asked me in the morning. He said, "You got my presents?" haha I told him he had to wait for a little bit. Sadly, Emmett was not feeling good on Kaydens birthday and we had AC guys come out because of our AC dying. So the day didn't go exactly how I was planning on it going but we made the most of it.
I still can't believe he is 3 already!!
Off to get donuts!!
Every time we go get donuts I feel like I should just pick out the boys donuts for them. Kayden picks these donuts and then doesn't really like them and wants ones that Brandon and I have. haha
This was him getting all upset because he didn't want a specific donut. He ate a couple of bites of his then wanted a couple of bites of mine then didn't want any of them. Emmett was not feeling good and didn't end up eating much of his donut at all.
After donuts, we headed to the twin silos park to play for a little bit. It worked out nice that the boys had that Monday off. Made it fun for Kayden having his brothers home to play with him.
After playing for a little bit and dropping off a donut for Dad we headed home. So we could be there when the AC guys got to our house.
Kayden did not want to get out of the car. He wanted to honk the horn. Since it was his birthday I told him he could honk it. He was so happy! haha Such a silly little guy!
Then he was acting super tired and laying down on the floor during lunch. I asked him if he wanted to go lay in bed with me and he said no he wanted to nap on the floor. After a few minutes he was up and at it again.
The weather was pretty nice so the boys were able to play outside with Kayden's water table. Kayden had a blast playing with the water table again and with his brothers. Emmett was laying around on the couch. He did not get to enjoy much of the fun with us since he was not feeling good. Poor Emmett!
The AC guy told me that we needed a new unit and gave us a nasty quote. Sadly, we were not in a position to hunt for a cheaper price so we had to swallow a bill of 9 grand for a new unit. We were not expecting to have to pay THAT much! So that was a bummer for sure. However, they got it installed that day and we were able to have the air running for the kids to sleep that night.
Anyways, after Brandon got home we went to Chick Fil A for some dinner. Then back to the house for some presents and a Mickey Brownie!
Kayden got a cold stone gift card from his nursery leaders. It was so sweet of them to do that on his birthday!!
Finally time for Presents! Kayden was so excited!!
Papa gave Kayden "Turkey" bread and Kayden was thrilled! haha It was so funny!
So many fun presents. What is funny is Kayden just kept wanting to open more. After all of the presents were gone he said he was going to go get more and headed upstairs. haha When I told him that there were no more he asked me why. haha We should have just wrapped up a bunch of his old cars and let him keep opening up things. He would open something see it and then chuck it to the side to grab another present to open. haha Brownie time!!!
We lit and sang to Kayden twice because he loves it so much. haha I decided to not make a cake this year. He does not even like cake. We debated on whether we should just get him either an ice cream cone or milkshake at Chick Fil A or just make malts and put a candle in it. We finally settled on making Brownies and just cutting it into a Mickey shape. Kayden was super happy with it and actually was able to eat his birthday dessert this year since it was not cake. haha These kids are so odd with their dislike of cakes. haha
Anyways, it was a good day celebrating Kayden turning 3! I still can't believe he is 3 already!! I wish time would just slow down with him and I could enjoy him being small for a little while longer! He is getting too big too fast!! Since I can't make that happen I am just trying to enjoy him as he is now! He is such a funny little guy! He brings so much joy and laughter into our home. There are still so many times that he does things that are just so cute that I just was to hug him and kiss him. He still gags on things that he does not like the textures to or does not look good to him. Which still makes us laugh. He is very tender hearted and if one of his brothers is crying he wants to give them a hug and make it better. If he gets hurt all you have to do is kiss it better and it truly is better to him. He loves going on bikes rides and is a little dare devil. For some odd reason Kayden does not want to be potty trained. He gets super upset when I try to get him to go potty in the toilet. In fact he will even cry sometimes. I think I scarred him when he went the first time and I did a little dance and sang a song. Maybe, he associates going to the bathroom with my terrible singing and dancing and thinks he is better off just going in his pants than risking that image again! haha I have no idea what other reason would cause him to be so scared of the toilets. Oh well, some day I guess he will be ready for it! Another thing about Kayden that has really started to shine through now that he is 3 is his social side. He will just go up and talk to random adults. If we are at a park and he sees another mom with her kids or even not with her kids he will go up and start talking to them. Sometimes he will tell me that he is not talking to me but talking to the other person if I respond to what he was saying. It is pretty funny to see him talk to all these people and be so friendly but worries me a little because he will really go talk to anyone. Wyatt was the same way. So it is kind of funny to see Kayden do it and remember how Wyatt was when he was his age. Kayden also loves soda and gets way more than any of his other brothers did at this age. If we are out and about and pass by Chick Fil A or Wendy's he will notice and say to me, "Mom! My want soda, french fries." Which is hard for me to resist the chance to get a soda. So there are quite a few times that I will give in and say sure. haha He still loves his little blankets and if I ask him if he wants the corner he will say yes and then ask me where his binkie is. He is getting pretty good on his little blue bike. Still loves Mickey Mouse and anything cars or trucks! Im sure there is more that I could write about our sweet little Kayden but this will have to do for now! He is a constant joy in our family! We could not imagine our life without him! Happy Birthday Kayden!! We sure do Love you!!!!
