Happy 4th of July!

Well this year our Fourth of July started out with some Freedom Toast (French toast as everyone knows it). Then we all got ready and went to the Fort Collins parade. Which turned out to be just a bunch of people advertising for their businesses but it was still fun to go as a family and have the kids wave some flags that I got a Walmart. After the parade we ran to the store so that I could grab some lemon jello for the cake I was making that day.
p.s I had gone to both the Super Target and Walmart the night before and both were completely out or Lemon Jello!! I could not believe it. Pretty ridiculous!
So anyways, we picked up the lemon jello mix and headed to a 7 Eleven to grab some slurpees. The guy in the 7 Eleven was nice and when we went to pay for the slurpees he asked Ethan was day it was. So I wispered the day to him and Ethan then said (in a very quiet and shy voice) it was the Fourth of July. So the guy said, "It sure is, you get yours for free then." really nice of the guy. So we headed home and had some lunch and then the kids took naps. After which we headed to our friends the Baggley's to have dinner. We went to their house and hung out and had dinner and after 8 we headed to Sonic to get their half price shakes. We sat at Sonic for a while and then headed to a Windsor school's football field and watched some fireworks. It turned out to be a really good first 4th of July in Colorado for us!

Ethan had a ton of fun with our friends kid Jackson. They got along so well and we were sure glad that they did. They were watching Happy Feet at Sonic and laughing together. Pretty cute!

I bought these balloons that you have seen in the above pictures at walmart for 3 bucks. They were probably the best buy that I could have gotten. It was the perfect thing for our kids to have at the field as we waited for the fireworks to start. We would have probably lost our kids if it were not for those balloons. Plus they had a blast running around and playing with them.

The fireworks turned out pretty good for being in Windsor. All personal fireworks were banned and illegal so we were glad that the cities were still doing fireworks. Although, something caught on fire and there were a ton of fire trucks headed over to an area where we could see a lot of red smoke. Not sure what caught on fire but you would think that there would be fire fighters on stand by just in case since they banned all personal fireworks.
