So back in April right after my mom left it was conference weekend. So we were able to have a nice relaxing weekend of listening the the prophet and the other general authorities that spoke. It was a great weekend with lots of really good talks. Conference always makes me realize what I need to improve on in my life!
My family enjoying conference! :-)
We went to Chick-Fil-A in between sessions on Saturday to get the boys out of the house! Chick-Fil-A is always a great place to go. Although, it sure was busy! It is always packed on Saturdays!
Who needs a real horse when you have a dad! :-)
So I left the boys outside while I was getting dinner going and the kitchen cleaned up a little bit one day. I was so excited to be able to send the boys outside and be able to let them play while I got a few things done before sitting outside with them. I seriously think I left them alone for 5 minutes. When I came outside Ethan had blood all over his face and Wyatt.. well Wyatt was enjoying himself...
Oh yes! He was completley covered in mud! Ethan would have never done this! haha Wyatt however, LOVED it!! He was having so much fun playing in the mud and now anytime he sees mud he wants to play in it! haha
One of the days while at the park Wyatt wanted to pull the wagon around and Ethan wanted to sit in the wagon and be pulled around. I was surprised that Wyatt was able to pull him! haha
I love Wyatt's "cheese" faces! :-)
Look at how blue that sky is with those clouds!
Ethan being a statue! haha
The boys love to go in the guest bedroom and jump on the bed! We always tell them not to but they always go in for more! Maybe we will have to get a trampoline some day!
Popcorn is starting to pop on the trees!! Yay for spring!!
After we eat Chick-Fil-A the boys like to trade in the book or toy for some ice cream! I always only trade in one and have them share the ice cream! They sure do love this part! Even if Wyatt's face does not look like he is enjoying it. haha He liked it! :-)
What a good big brother! I love pictures like this!!
Yummy Yummy Ice cream!!
Then at a different park the boy hopped on the teeter totter and Ethan was bouncing Wyatt on it. Wyatt was laughing so hard, it was really cute!
Having fun in the sand!
So this picture I didnt get what I wanted to get out of it! I took this picture when Wyatt came over to me in our backyard and he had mud on his mouth. Yes, that is right, he ate some mud!! It was all over his chin and lips! So GROSS!! I swear this kid will eat anything! haha
I love this sweet little face!
He is such a cutie!
A little dark but poor little guy got a fat lip.
Nose!
I love this sweet little face!
He is such a cutie!
Nose!
Poor little dude!!
So Wyatt likes to say "Bye Bye" wave and blow kisses a lot lately. In the car he did it and I asked him if he was going to sleep. So he said it again blew kisses again and then pretended to be asleep! haha It was so funny! So of coarse I had to get a picture! :-)
Then since I took a picture of Wyatt sleeping Ethan had to have a picture of him sleeping too! Silly little boys! Such copy cats these days!
DATE NIGHT!!
So for this date I actually asked Brandon out! :-) I got those window paints for cars and drove to his work and wrote all over his windows asking him out to the Drive-Inn! :-) It was fun doing it! Then he showed up back at home after work with a sign saying "Yes" and some roses! :-) It was pretty fun! He told me he was trying to figure out some fun way to respond but since I had done it the day before our date he didnt have much time to plan a cool and fun response! But roses and a yes worked just fine! :-)
First we got dinner at a mexican restaurant called Inkas. Which was actually really good! Then we headed over to the Drive Inn. I was so excited to be at the Drive-Inn movie for our date night since I had never been to one before! So it was exciting! :-)
It was like we went back in time! ;-)
These were funnel fries! Yes that is right funnel fries. Not funnel cake, funnel fries. The girl told us they were super yummy! So we figured we would try them out. Ya they were not worth almost 4 bucks. We were expecting way more of them for as much as they cost! So that was disappointing, but, we ate them and just enjoyed it anyways!
Then we got the back of our car ready to watch our movie "Captain America Winter Soldier". It was actually a little chilly that night. The wind was picking up and we decided to close the trunk and sit in the warm car for a little while before the movie started. Thank goodness we did because the people in the truck next to us started smoking (such a gross habit)! We realized that having our trunk down would actually work out just fine. We could still see the movie screen fine and it kept us nice a warm. So we left it closed! It was not a comfy sitting in the back of our SUV as I had thought it would be. We didnt really cuddle because we were trying to sit as best we could without hurting our butts or our necks and still be able to see the screen! So although it was a fun experience I would say it is not my favorite way to see a movie! haha A fun date night none the less! :-)
Ethan built a tower out of Jenga blocks! He is really good a stuff like this! Oh and don't mind the scary face!! haha
Such a cute and smart kid!
Ethan is such a goof ball! haha I wanted to get a picture of his blue eyes. They were so blue against his bright orange shirt. This is the face he gave me! haha
Thats more like it! :-) Look at that cute boy!!
Man I have such handsome boys! I sure do love my little family!
Update on my boys:
Wyatt: Wyatt, is just growing up so fast! At 18 months he was saying quite a few words and copying Ethan with a lot of things. Then just a month later at 19 months his vocabulary just when crazy! He was saying a lot more words and saying words that we would tell him to say that we didnt think he would be able to say. He can but 2 words together and is really doing a great job with everything. I cant think of all the words that he says but here are a few new ones he says; he likes to say "bye bye" and blow kisses and then walk out of the room all the time. He says "mere" for come here and motions for us to come where he is. He can say "love you" although he does not say it much, he would rather blow kisses. He has also started saying "amen" after prayers sometimes. He has been saying "dnk you" for Thank you a lot. He says it after we give him things that he wants! It is super cute! His favorite primary song is "book of mormon stories" and we can do most of the hand motions. He wants to do anything that Ethan does, whether that is riding a bike, eating at the island, screaming, running across the room, etc! Wyatt is also a tough kid. He will hurt himself and maybe cry for 5 seconds, then he is off to play again! At church on Sunday for instance, we were sitting on the benches in church and Wyatt decided to plunge off the row onto the floor. Brandon caught him mid way, but, Wyatt had hit his face on the books in front of him. He didnt cry at all just looked shocked, then he went back to playing. A few second later we noticed blood on his lip. So we told him to open his mouth and when he did there was blood all over his lips. I mean covering his lips. So brandon had his say "cheese" and he has blood covering his teeth! He didnt even cry!! The only reason we new he had hurt himself was because of all the blood! We cleaned him off and that was that. It stopped bleeding and he just kept on playing! It was so weird! If it had been Ethan, we would have had a screamer on our hands! So crazy how different they are! :-) Wyatt has also gotten more into rough housing. A few weeks ago we were getting ready to say family prayers before bed time. All of a sudden the boys starting rough housing. Wyatt was pulling Ethan down from behind and then jumping on his and then Ethan would roll over onto him. It was pretty funny to watch! Wyatt was having a BLAST! Wyatt has been into yelling a lot lately! He yells "NO!!" all the time as well as "mommy mommy MOMMY! " haha When we are in the car he will say, "mommy mommy MOMMY... look!!" then five seconds later do it all over again. Our car rides have gotten very umm shall we say slightly annoying! haha It is funny and at the same time drives me crazy!! haha When Brandon is home on the weekends and I go to take a shower I can hear Wyatt call for me. Then the next thing I know he is in my bathroom looking for me! haha He is also not into watching TV like Ethan is. Wyatt will last 10 minutes maybe 15 minutes of sitting and watching a movie with us, then he is off to go play with toys. Wyatt also loves to play at the play place when we go to Chick-Fil-A. He has gotten good at going up and through their play place. A lot of the time is spent with him going in and out of the door. The other day we went to Chick-Fil-A to meet daddy there for lunch. When Brandon showed up Wyatt kept coming in and out of the door and then running over to where me and Bran were sitting and yelling, "DADDY!!" and then turning around and going back in! haha It was so funny! He also LOVES to play with his golf club. We were outside in the backyard and both Ethan and Wyatt had their golf clubs out and were hitting balls around having a blast. Then we needed to go somewhere so Brandon had to take the golf club and put it away. Wyatt cried so hard!! He wanted his golf club back! He can muster up the biggest crocodile tears and he has such a sad cry! So I think he will be our basketball and golf player because he loves it so much! He is a silly little guy and we sure do love him!
Ethan:
I still can't believe Ethan will be 4 this summer, and going to preschool in the fall! Starting preschool in the fall will be a very good thing for him. He is going to have so much fun learning with other kids his age and a little older than him. I feel like he just does not get enough kid interaction time right now because other kids his age always seem to have things going on or are in preschool this year. So I think he will be an even happier kid next year when he is in school getting pushed intellectually and being able to play with other kids. The potty training thing is still a work in progress. He is really good during the day and only has an accident once in a blue moon. The hard part is night time. I feel like he will never be completely potty trained because he does not seem to care at night. As soon as he gets the pull up on he will pee in it. He seems to be getting slightly better and sometimes will say he needs to go to the bathroom. But, for the most part he is having a hard time with night time potty training. He always, wants water at bedtime and in the morning really could care less to get the pee off of him. I guess some day it will happen but for right now we are trying the pull up thing at night! Ethan can be so smart and seem so grown up and then 10 minutes later act like such a baby. Maybe its just because he is our first and he has always seemed more mature and we expect so much from him that it gets very frustrating. 3 has been a very hard age and I am hoping that 4 brings better things! haha He still wants to cuddle at bed time every night and we have gotten into a routine of daddy saying prayers with him and reading him a book, then they come running down stairs to find where I am hiding. Then once I am found I go upstairs with Ethan to cuddle with him for a little bit. It is all fine and dandy except that he is always trying to stall for bedtime. Even when he doesnt get a nap and gets up early and we know that he is exhausted. He still fights bedtime! Then after I cuddle with him he wants me to stand on the wall for a minute! The routine for bedtime is very frustrating sometimes because it can take for ever! haha Then since he is transitioning out of naps, if he does get a nap then he fights going to bed until like 10 o'clock! He will come downstairs multiple times with some excuse of why he is downstairs. Sometimes it is because he has sand in his eye and we need to put water on his eye to get it out. Although, I learned the hard way that you can't put the water on his eye and then wipe it off because he freaks out! You have to just splash a little bit of water on his eye and then send him to bed. Then one night while Brandon's parents were in town Ethan was having a hard time going to bed and Brandon had gone upstairs to get him to stay in bed. Brandon then came downstairs and Ethan was still crying. So after a little while I went upstairs to go get Ethan to stop yelling for me. When I got up there he was shaking his whole body. He said, "Im shaking, because Im cold." I told him to get in his covers then and then he wanted some water. After a whole fiasco (which I don't remember what he wanted from Brandon) he finally gave in. He does have good behaviors too! There are times where he is being such a good big brother. He will help Wyatt get on the couch or the chair at the table. He will try and read books to Wyatt and he plays with Wyatt all the time. When Wyatt is sad Ethan will try and make him laugh by being goofing or hitting himself in the face, which always cheers Wyatt up. He will help Wyatt get a drink or help him eat by showing Wyatt how he eats or feeding Wyatt food. Ethan has also gotten into drawing pictures. He has started to draw stick figures and tries to draw people all the time. He has a really good arm when it comes to throwing and likes to practice golfing and baseball in the backyard. Sometimes in Ethans prayers he will say, "thank you for jesus because I love jesus." it is super cute when he says that. Although lately his prayers have consisted of, " thank you for this day, thank you for my breakfast, and for this food, and for all our things..... now what?" then wait for us to help him. Which we then argue about praying because I tell him to do it and think about what he is saying. He knows how to pray all by himself and yet he has started to be lazy with it. Other times he does such a good job! He really is a funny little kid, frustrating at times, but funny! He can also be so sweet! The other day I was letting him practice cutting some paper and he just randomly said, "mom, I love you so much!" I really do love when he says stuff like that and I sure do love him!
All in all I have great kids! They are both trying to figure out what their limits are and how far they can push me, but it is a great life and I wouldn't change it for the world!!
