August fun and a trip to Texas

That weekend we rode bikes to Chick Fil A again with the kids to celebrate the boys completing their first week of school.

The kids enjoy riding to Chick Fil A so it was fun afternoon. I also had just bought Emmett a new cup holder for his bike. So he was able to try it out and it worked great for him. He was pretty excited about it since his last cup holder that he got for his birthday broke so easy and didn't work very well because his bike is too small.

Then Ashley and Harvey and Caleb came in town late that night. While Sunday morning Brandon and I flew out to Texas for the annual financial meeting.

The kids were super excited to see Harvey and Caleb. So when my mom sent me these pictures of the kids with little Caleb and Ethan helping out so much and how happy Kayden was to play with Harvey. It was super cute!! I was so glad they were all enjoying their time together.

Brandon and I were able to hangout with David and Hayles at Hurricane Harbor that Sunday. It felt really weird going to a water park on a Sunday but we didn't have a better time to go. Monday it was going to be closed. So we planned to go and then the weather changed and it was supposed to rain almost the entire time we were in Texas.

Thankfully, we lucked out and the rain kept getting pushed back and it didn't rain for a few hours. So we were able to have fun on some water slides until about 3. Then we headed back to David and Hayles place and then went to an in door mall to walk around and kill some time before going to dinner.

Tasty BBQ for dinner!!  It was fun hanging out with David and Hayles that day and getting to spend some quality time with them.

Surprise Surprise, Brandon found a Dominican Restaurant in Texas. haha It was good stuff. I didn't eat there because I was wanting to go back to the Food Hall for lunch.

Then we went to see "Thor: Love and Thunder" Which was a total disappointment.

Enjoying some Kilwins ice cream in Texas since we now can't enjoy it in Fort Collins.

Then I found some exercise pants at lululemon. Which I usually do not buy because they are so expensive. These were so soft and such a cool color it was hard to pass up.

Kayden was being spoiled being able to play with Harvey every day and going to the pool with Chick Fil A. He was living the high life! It was fun to see the pictures my mom would send me of the kids having fun.

Enjoying the weather and driving cars. So much fun!

These 2 are such cute little buddies!!!

Before we knew it Brandon and I were back to life. This time I was able to see Ashley and Harvey and meet their little Caleb for the first time. He is such a chunky and happy little guy!! He is so cute!!!

And then there are these 2 again!! haha I loved watching these boys play together. Their conversations were so funny to listen to!

Then we took the boys to story time.

It was Kayden's first time to story time and he seemed a little shy. Which is unusual for Kayden. He is usually my social little bee. He did wake up crying that morning with a snotty nose. So I think he was catching a cold and wasn't feeling totally himself.

Then we took the kids out for some park time.

These boys played hard the whole time they were together. Kayden fought naps even though he was so tired every day.

Kayden likes to try and help with the dishes which always seems silly. This time he was adamant that he wanted to clean the dishes for me. It was cute to watch him try. I know a lot of it is that he just wants to play in the water. haha

That weekend we had a staff appreciation party at the Summit. It was with the staff and their families from the office. So we got to go bowling and play in the arcade!

Of course this is all Kayden wanted to do. haha

Until he found the mini basketball game. haha

He thought it was so fun even though he didn't even get close to making a basket. haha

Then right before taking off the kids found the older school games and played a little bit on those before we left for home.

We ended the weekend having the crew over for dinner at our house. Then we did the usual movie and malts. This time we watched the new "Top Gun Maverick" movie with the kids. Kayden and Harvey liked it when the jets took off. Other than that they didn't care for it and would run off and play. By the end of the evening Harvey had bit Kayden twice saying that he had sharp teeth like a dinosaur. He was pretty tired and he gets a little crazy when he is tired. Kayden would cry but then he got over it and wanted to keep playing with him. It was a fun week back from Texas.
