Christmas 2016

Yay for Christmas!!!
Christmas was on Sunday this year so we had planned on opening up stockings, having breakfast and getting ready for church. We figured the boys would come in at 6:30 or 7 to tell us that Santa had come so we didn't set our alarm clocks. We ended up waking up at 7:30 thinking that the boys were still asleep because no one had come to wake us up and it was really quiet still. Brandon got dressed really quick and went out of the room to find our boys sitting on the stairs whispering to each other. haha They had woken up early but forgot that they could come and wake us up. My dad said that they were on the stairs whispering for probably 40 minutes. haha What good little boys we have! We had figured that the boys would wake us up early so we would have plenty of time to just enjoy going through stockings and then opening up Santa's gift of cereal for us and have time to eat some breakfast and then get ready. However, since they didn't wake us up we had to go a little faster that morning. The boys had time to open up their stockings and then we had to take a break and get church clothes on before opening our cereals to eat breakfast.
Emmett opened up his first present in his stocking and it was nilla wafers. He wanted it opened right then and there and was so excited. He then just started to eat them and really didn't care much about what else was in his stocking. We ended up letting him finish opening his stocking later that day. haha

It was a little different having to get ready for Church so early. It was nice going to Church on Christmas since that it helps to remind us of why we are celebrating Christmas but at the same time it would have been a little nicer if we had later Church. It would have been amazing if we had 1 o'clock church. Then we could have opened up presents, had a relaxing breakfast and then gotten ready for church. Oh well, it all worked out and the boys were really good about it all. They didn't fight us on getting ready and going to church.

The boys wouldn't give us just one good Christmas morning family picture so I decided to just put both of these on here so together it would be one good family picture. haha

It wasn't even supposed to snow on Christmas but on our drive home from church it started to snow. The flakes got pretty bit too and it snowed for probably 20 minutes and then it stopped. We were just glad that we got some snow on Christmas day especially since my parents were here and it meant a White Christmas for them as well! :-)

Time for gifts from Santa. The boys were super excited!
Ethan opened up his first and squealed with joy! He said, "Yes!!! I wanted this!"
He had mentioned that he wanted heelie shoes, but, was ecstatic about this and I think forgot about the other thing he had said he wanted most. haha

Wyatt's present from Santa didn't even have a picture on the box and yet Wyatt said he knew that it was, "a tire twister" He also said, "I always get boxes!" silly kid. I guess he doesn't yet realize that most things come in boxes. haha

Lastly, Emmett's turn. Emmett got a dancing, singing robot and seemed to like it. He also was really tired though and went down for a nap after he opened his gift from Santa.

Snow.. SnOW... SNOW!!!! :-)

After opening presents from Santa we took a break so Emmett could take a nap and we let the boys play with their gifts from Santa.

While they were playing with their toys my parents chatted with Ashley and Matt to opened their gifts from each other. Technology is so great that we can do things like this these days! We can be miles apart and yet feel like we are together because of technology. Pretty awesome if you ask me! :-)

Then we decided the boys could open their gifts to each other while Emmett was napping.

They loved their gifts from each other.

While Emmett napped the boys had fun playing with their toys from Santa. We then came to the conclusion that they would have probably been just fine with the gifts from Santa and being done. They were happy as could be with their gift from Santa.

Santa got Ethan some chapstick that ended up looking more like lipstick. Ya that was a Santa fail and it went in the trash pretty quick! haha

Emmett finally woke up and the rest of the present opening began. Emmett was very intent on trying to open up his gifts. He is still a little young and had a hard time getting the wrapping paper off.

We got my parents something to help with the stench that happens in the bathroom sometimes. haha

We also got my Dad 8 boxes of his favorite kind of protein bar. We found them on eBay since they don't make the kind he likes anymore.

Once presents were done it was time to play.

Emmett was trying to blow the roller coaster over. haha

Thanks to Daddy, they were able to get the roller coaster made and have fun watching the car go all the way around.

Emmett tried on Wyatt's Gecko mask! Maybe just a tad too big! haha

The boys loved to sit with GG and play games on her iPad. Christmas was a little hectic just because we have 3 crazy boys and we really couldn't go anywhere with it being Sunday. So it really didn't matter that it was Christmas, they are always way more crazy on Sundays. It was a fun day though. The kids had fun playing with their new toys and we had a yummy dinner and then played games after the kids went to bed. It was fun and we still had a whole week and a couple days left to have even more fun with Grandpa and GG with us.
