Time to put up the Tree!!

Halloween is over so the Christmas tree was officially going up!! We put up the tree on November 5th which was the Sunday right after Halloween. Brandon was actually the one that reminded me that Halloween was over and mentioned putting up the tree. So he has finally come around after 9 years of marriage! haha So after church and Emmett's nap we put up our Christmas tree. The boys were so excited and wanted to put it up as soon as we mentioned it. By the time it was actually time to get it out they were super ready for it.

Emmett loved helping put the ornaments on the tree and all three of them wished that we had more ornaments to put on when they were all gone. They were excited to see their ornaments from previous years and to put them on the tree. I just love this time of year. Christmas is by far the best holiday there is. I love all the lights, music, movies, treats and just the feel of this time of year. I always feel closer to my Savior Jesus Christ around this time of year which is probably why I really like Christmas so much. I need to keep these feelings all year round because I just love it so much. Christmas brings so much joy and happiness to my life with my sweet little family around me. I love my little family so much and feel so blessed to have them in my life!!!
Let the Christmas Festivities BEGIN!!!

Wyatt First Basketball Game!

November 4th Wyatt had his very first basketball game and he was super excited about it. Thank goodness it was a morning game or he would have sat in the car waiting to go all morning. haha That morning the kids ate some breakfast and then we dropped of Ethan at Cole's house so he could go to Chuck E Cheese with him for Cole's birthday and then we took off to go watch Wyatt play in his first game. With this young age group they all seem to get the same amount of play time which is nice. It was fun to watch Wyatt in action for the game.

He LOVED playing in his first game as you can tell by his face in this last picture. He did a good job too. What is funny is that anytime he was in playing he was more concerned about playing defense than offense. Whether he was on defense or offense it didn't matter to him he was always guarding someone. haha We told him after the game that he did a great job blocking the other team but that when they are on offense he has to be looking for the ball and getting open so someone can pass to him. He has gotten really good at dribbling the ball in the short amount of time he has had with basketball. It is fun to see the progress he is making with it already and how much fun he is having with it.

The first good snow of the school year

We had our first pretty good snow fall on November 7th. It said it was supposed to snow during the night and all day the next day. I did not expect to wake up to as much snow as we did. The boys were so excited that it had snowed and couldn't wait to get out and play in it. I told Ethan to get ready for school and next thing I know he was getting on snow clothes. I asked him why he was getting his snow pants on when he had to go to school. He then told me that if he wanted to play on the play ground at school he had to wear his snow clothes. Which makes sense so I helped him get the rest of his stuff on. As soon as Ethan was off to school Wyatt and Emmett wanted to go out and play in the snow. So we got all of our snow stuff on and headed out to shovel the drive way and play in the snow. I had been recovering from my back hurting and since it was feeling pretty good that morning I decided I would just be careful and shovel the driveway. Ya... that was a really bad idea! The rest of the day my back was really hurting and I had to take it easy the rest of the day. Wyatt and Emmett had a blast in the snow. They even started to have a little snow ball fight.

This was Wyatt's snowman he made all by himself. haha

They lasted a good amount of time playing in the snow and Wyatt kept taking his gloves off (crazy boy!). It was probably close to an hour before Emmett was cold and ready to go inside. So we headed inside to warm up. It was fun to watch Wyatt and Emmett chasing each other around throwing snow balls at each other. Sadly, it was still too cold to make a snowman. The snow was perfect for snowman making on the driveway but from the grass it was too powdery. I told Wyatt when it warmed up we could make a snowman. As soon as Ethan got home that afternoon Ethan went out in the backyard and all three of them played in the snow until I made them come inside so we could get ready to go to basketball practice.
