July 4th in Cali

So for the 4th of July we went down to California to visit my parents (Papa and GG). Brandon had the 4th of July off from school and a half day the following day so he took a couple days off and we headed to Cali. We figured it would be fun to get away for the 4th and then we could celebrate Ethan's birthday with my parents as well. So we had a lot of fun. On the 4th we went swimming and had a barbeque and one of my moms friends house which was fun. Ethan loves to go swimming, especially with his floaties on because he can pretty much go wherever he wants.

Then he found out how this little beauty worked and loved trying to spray people! haha

Then we went to see some fireworks at the Quakes Stadium. We were there for quite a while before the fireworks started and so we just sat there watching the festivities going on around us. It was just nice to all be together.

Ethan was a champ. The fireworks didnt even start until 9 and his bed time is normally 8. So we were not sure how we would do but although he was really tired by the time the fireworks started he really enjoyed them and thought they were pretty cool!

Then since we were also celebrating Ethan's Second birthday we decided to take him to the movie theatres for the first time. So we all went and saw "Brave". Of coarse Ethan was ready for a nap by the time the movie was going to start but he still did really well and watched the whole movie sitting in his Daddy's lap.

I think he ate half of the popcorn bag by himself! haha He just kept eating it and eating it. It was pretty funny! He loves his popcorn!

We also did some of our own fireworks one of the nights!

Ethan likes the sparklers even though he did not move them much he just kind of stared at them which was pretty funny to watch. Although I was kind of nervous the whole time he was doing them! haha

On one of the days we went to the beach. It was Ethan's first experience at the beach and he had fun playing in the sand! The water was really cold and the salt stung the little cuts on his legs so he didnt like the water at all but he enjoyed playing in the sand. He also thought the sand crabs were pretty cool!

By the end of the day Ethan was super tired! We left the beach at around 4 I think and he had not taken a nap yet. So he was a very sleepy boy and after being in the sun so much he fell asleep within like 2 minutes of being in the car! But, for his first time going to the beach he did really well and he really liked it. Except for the water! haha

We had so much fun in Cali for the Fourth of July! We celebrated the 4th of July and Ethan's Second birthday. There was so much going on during the week that when we got home that Sunday Ethan slept really well that night! haha I think he was catching up on all the lack of sleep from that trip, but it sure was fun! :-)
