The Butterfly Pavilion

Tuesday April 24th Wyatt's preschool had another field trip. This time it was to the butterfly pavilion. Wyatt was super excited to go. We drove down with the Gleaves in our ward since her little boy is in Wyatt's class. I was hoping to carpool since we still have the loaner car and I have not gotten my license in the mail yet. So she drove and brought her little boy Cole that is Emmett's age. The pavilion was fun but super busy. The kids didn't seem to care though and I just tried to make sure I didn't lose one of my boys. We got to see some bugs, scorpions, tarantulas, an octopus, fish, star fish and of course butterfly's.

Wyatt got to touch the star fish and thought it was super cool. Emmett did not want to touch them.

Then the preschool class went and had a little class about the insects and butterfly's. So while they had their 45 minute long class Jordan and I took the little boys to the play area. It was PACKED!! There were a ton of schools there for field trips too and the play area had tons of bigger kids pushing through all the little kids.

At one point Emmett was going to go down the slide they had but I lost sight of him amongst all the bigger kids pushing their way through the line. Then when he hadn't come down the stairs or the slide I started to wonder where he went. Jordan mentioned going to see the butterflies which I agreed would be fun but I had to find Emmett first. So I started looking in the line but didn't see him and Jordan went to see if he was coming down the slide. So then Jordan pushed her way into the slide line to see if Emmett was just stuck getting ran over by all the other kids. He wasn't there either and then she saw him. He was not even by the slide. He was walking in another area probably looking sad. She called to him and then I came around and saw him. When I picked him up he buried his head into my shoulder and I could tell he was upset. Poor little buddy! He said he did go down the slide. So I don't know how I missed that one. But you could tell he was worried that he was lost because he didn't see me and didn't know where I was.

After finding Emmett and getting his shoes back on we headed to see the butterflies before Wyatt and Owen were out of the little class.

Emmett did not like these butterflies. They were pretty big and he did not like getting close to them at all.

I love that my boys will sit and smile for me when I ask them to so I can take a picture! :-)

Once the little class was over we grabbed Wyatt and Owen and went back into the butterfly area and let Wyatt and Owen see all the butterflies. Wyatt was cute about it. He kept putting his finger out near the butterflies in hopes that it would crawl onto his finger. He was very patient with them too. Sadly, they never climbed onto his fingers.

After a little bit in the pavilion for the second time Emmett was super done with it all and kept telling me he wanted to go home. I mentioned going to Chick Fil A to grab lunch when we were done and then he kept saying that he was super hungry. I totally understood that because they had had a smoothie protein drink with me that morning for breakfast and it was almost noon. I was famished so I knew they were too. When we were almost through the butterfly area Wyatt started saying that he was super hungry and wanted to leave and get lunch. Jordan's boys were done and ready to leave too. So we headed out.

We grabbed a few more pictures of these cute boys before getting in the car and heading to Chick Fil A for some lunch. It was a fun outing. I should have prepared a little better and brought some snacks for me and the boys so that we could have lasted longer. Although, it was so crowded that I didn't really care to go back to the play area and we had already pretty much seen everything there was to see. So it all worked out. It would have been easier to go without Emmett but it was also fun to let Emmett join Wyatt on his field trip. Plus Wyatt loves his little brother and doesn't seem to mind all that much. They are seriously getting so big!! I can't get enough of their cuteness!

More April Fun

Brandon and I also upgraded our phones and got the iPhone 8 plus. Since we didn't really want to spend the money on new cases Brandon spent time modifying the cases that we had. Brandon's case that he had for his 6s plus fit his new phone but the camera is different so we went to his office and he used some dental burs and made the camera hole larger so that it would work with his new phone. He did the same to his free otter box defender case so that I could use that one.
This picture was taken just to take a picture with my new phone. haha Plus I thought it was fun to document Brandon modifying my case even more. He cut the front plastic cover off of it and was trying to get the sticky parts off. He is so handy! :-) Sadly, I didn't like my case because it is humongous. So we ended up getting me a cheap case on eBay that I like way better. haha

Emmett is all into pretending that he has been hurt. He was playing downstairs and they must have been playing super heros or something because next thing I know Emmett comes up acting like he had been shot or something. haha

Fun at the Mammoth park again.
Wyatt loves to climb up this mammoth.

Sadly, it was supposed to be like 75 degrees this one day that we went to the park. It never got to that temperature and it was a little windy and the wind was cold. So we didn't enjoy the park as much that day.

Emmett has started riding his blue bike. I figured it was time to upgrade him from the little red bike. So we tried it out and he did a good job for the first time being able to ride it. He would accidentally stop every so often and say, "oops". He had a hard time stopping when he actually needed to though. He would end up dragging his sandals on the ground to stop. I kept telling him to use his pedals to break. So I would show him how and then he would use his feet again to stop himself.

Once he got a taste of this bigger faster bike that is all he wanted to do. Any chance he would get to be outside he would be on this blue bike. So we headed to the park near us so that he could ride his bike to the park and he road around the whole time we were there.

Wyatt and I played some hop scotch and then Wyatt made some shadow puppets. haha

This was supposed to be a Rhino. haha

This was a pig! :-)

The boys love helping out when it makes them seem stronger. So when I let Wyatt pull the garbage can back into the garage he was super excited and proud of himself.

I had to post this picture because at home we will randomly see little stuffed animals or some kind of animal toy stacked together like this. I wasn't sure who was doing it until we were at Chick Fil A one evening and Ethan stacked these 2 toys this way. haha I sent Brandon a picture (Brandon was at a meeting) and told him that we now knew who the culprit was. haha

Ethan spent his time at Chick Fil A eating and then cutting his ice cream cone up.
Wyatt was gone most of the time playing so I never got a picture of him.

Wyatt had been begging me to take the kite out. Some of the days were too windy and then one day was not windy enough. So finally one morning it seemed the it was just breezy enough to try. He got to fly it a little bit but the wind kept dying down shortly after getting the kite in the air and the kite would come back down. There were a couple of times that he was able to keep it in the air for a few minutes.

Then the boys did a performance for us one night.

There performance was spent with them playing on pianos and guitars and then showing us their mad skills with a ball. haha It was pretty great. I got it all on video!

We finally had a Sunday that was super nice and warm. So we took advantage of it and headed out on a family bike ride. This time Emmett got to ride a bike too instead of being pulled in the trailer. He did a great job! He was finally stopping with his breaks and he was doing really well with keeping up with his brothers. Yes he was farther behind but he was going fast enough that Brandon and I could keep a steady slow pedaling pace. It was fun to watch. Then closer to the end of the ride he started doing some of his own tricks. haha What a funny little kid. I think all of our boys have been all into doing tricks as soon as they can ride a bike.

Finally, this past Monday we went out to Texas Roadhouse with the Ortiz's. We finally got together with them. The last time we got together with them was January 1st. So it was totally time to hangout. Dinner was good as always and the boys were crazy like always. Jacob and Connor are a little more crazy than our boys and they like to instigate weirdness. haha So They started to tie their napkins on their heads and Wyatt tied his around his neck and pretended to be a super hero. Which was actually funny! So Deanna took a picture and sent it to me. It is always fun and yet chaotic getting together with the Ortiz family just because together we have 6 boys. That is a lot of craziness! haha
Lastly, I just have to mention something about Wyatt. So lately Wyatt has been super interested in what a girls "pee pee" looks like. He has asked me if mine looks like his and I have told him no. When I told him that I don't have a pee pee like he does he said, "Can I see it?" I told him no and he said, "Why? I will show you mine if you show me yours!" haha Oh no... I am in trouble with this kid. haha I couldn't believe he said that. First of all where in the world has he ever heard that? It made me laugh and I told him that I am his mom and I have seen his since he was born. He really wanted me to show him and was a little bummed when I told him no.  Then the other day he was saying that, "Boys can see boys and girls can see girls." referring to seeing them naked. He then says, "I wish boys could see girls and girls could see boys." haha He then said, "I just want to know what a girls pee pee looks like." I don't know why he is so curious all of a sudden. So I really don't know what to do. I have told him that if we ever have a little girl then he will see. haha Or maybe I need to show him an anatomy drawing of a girl vs. boy so that he can see without actually needing to see. haha What a silly boy! Ethan has never mentioned anything like that although like Wyatt said, "Ethan has seen Mady and Kemry naked." (his cousins) We shall see if he continues to be this curious and maybe we will have to discuss it a little bit with him. Anyways, I just thought it was funny and I better document it before I forget! :-)
