The Butterfly Pavilion

Tuesday April 24th Wyatt's preschool had another field trip. This time it was to the butterfly pavilion. Wyatt was super excited to go. We drove down with the Gleaves in our ward since her little boy is in Wyatt's class. I was hoping to carpool since we still have the loaner car and I have not gotten my license in the mail yet. So she drove and brought her little boy Cole that is Emmett's age. The pavilion was fun but super busy. The kids didn't seem to care though and I just tried to make sure I didn't lose one of my boys. We got to see some bugs, scorpions, tarantulas, an octopus, fish, star fish and of course butterfly's.

Wyatt got to touch the star fish and thought it was super cool. Emmett did not want to touch them.

Then the preschool class went and had a little class about the insects and butterfly's. So while they had their 45 minute long class Jordan and I took the little boys to the play area. It was PACKED!! There were a ton of schools there for field trips too and the play area had tons of bigger kids pushing through all the little kids.

At one point Emmett was going to go down the slide they had but I lost sight of him amongst all the bigger kids pushing their way through the line. Then when he hadn't come down the stairs or the slide I started to wonder where he went. Jordan mentioned going to see the butterflies which I agreed would be fun but I had to find Emmett first. So I started looking in the line but didn't see him and Jordan went to see if he was coming down the slide. So then Jordan pushed her way into the slide line to see if Emmett was just stuck getting ran over by all the other kids. He wasn't there either and then she saw him. He was not even by the slide. He was walking in another area probably looking sad. She called to him and then I came around and saw him. When I picked him up he buried his head into my shoulder and I could tell he was upset. Poor little buddy! He said he did go down the slide. So I don't know how I missed that one. But you could tell he was worried that he was lost because he didn't see me and didn't know where I was.

After finding Emmett and getting his shoes back on we headed to see the butterflies before Wyatt and Owen were out of the little class.

Emmett did not like these butterflies. They were pretty big and he did not like getting close to them at all.

I love that my boys will sit and smile for me when I ask them to so I can take a picture! :-)

Once the little class was over we grabbed Wyatt and Owen and went back into the butterfly area and let Wyatt and Owen see all the butterflies. Wyatt was cute about it. He kept putting his finger out near the butterflies in hopes that it would crawl onto his finger. He was very patient with them too. Sadly, they never climbed onto his fingers.

After a little bit in the pavilion for the second time Emmett was super done with it all and kept telling me he wanted to go home. I mentioned going to Chick Fil A to grab lunch when we were done and then he kept saying that he was super hungry. I totally understood that because they had had a smoothie protein drink with me that morning for breakfast and it was almost noon. I was famished so I knew they were too. When we were almost through the butterfly area Wyatt started saying that he was super hungry and wanted to leave and get lunch. Jordan's boys were done and ready to leave too. So we headed out.

We grabbed a few more pictures of these cute boys before getting in the car and heading to Chick Fil A for some lunch. It was a fun outing. I should have prepared a little better and brought some snacks for me and the boys so that we could have lasted longer. Although, it was so crowded that I didn't really care to go back to the play area and we had already pretty much seen everything there was to see. So it all worked out. It would have been easier to go without Emmett but it was also fun to let Emmett join Wyatt on his field trip. Plus Wyatt loves his little brother and doesn't seem to mind all that much. They are seriously getting so big!! I can't get enough of their cuteness!
