For Spring break this year Tyrel and Vandy and their 4 little ones came to have some fun with us. We spent the week playing lots of games, eating way too many sweet treats and listening to the kids having lots of fun together. It was a good week. Thankfully the weather was nice enough that the kids wanted to be outside a lot of the time. Not quite warm enough that I wanted to be outside a couple of the days but it was a least not snowing and freezing cold. Brandon had to work the first couple days of the week before taking the rest off. One morning the kids decided to put on a show for us. They (Kemry) made sign up sheets and little signs for who was performing when and where we were supposed to sit. After watching their performances we went back upstairs and they said that they were going to have a food tasting contest. So I decided that it would be fun to make their lunches with a few different sandwiches, mandarin oranges and skins some grapes for each of them. We also blind folded them and walked them over to the table so that we could have a blind taste test. Kemry was the one who wanted to do it the most and yet she was the most skittish about it all. You could tell how scared she was to take each bite that I gave her just by her mouth movements. haha Ethan and Wyatt were excited to try everything and try to guess it. Then Emmett wanted to try after I was done with the older kids. So I blind folded him really quick and gave him one little bite just to let him have the experience. It was pretty funny!
I think after all the excitement of doing a taste test wore off Kemry was more nervous than anyone. Although Tate didn't even want to try being blind folded. Silly gooses!
Besides playing in the backyard a lot and in the house they kids also played at the park a lot. A few times we let them go by themselves. The other times we went with them. I took all of them on my own one afternoon while Ty and Vandy were off getting their dental work done at Brandon's office.
We were just lucky to have good enough weather to be able to get out to the park a lot.
Then we took everyone to go get some frozen yogurt at TCBY. We had bought gift cards at christmas time and had every intention of letting the boys give them to their friends for Christmas and then we spaced it. We realized that week of spring break that the cards were going to expire. What kind of gift card expires?? Anyways, so we decided it would be fun for the kids to get some frozen yogurt!
They enjoyed it. I think Ty and Vandy's kids enjoyed it more than ours did. haha
Look at these two cuties!!! They are so stinking cute! I love that they are such good little friends already!
Then there is little Beckham. He had quite a few cry fests but what can you expect from a little 6 month old. He sure is a cutie. Plus he likes me now and smiled and giggled for me lots so I was happy about that! haha
The week was super fun. A few melt downs here and there and we saw a whole new side of Piper that we had not seen before. She got pretty feisty with Emmett some times. She also tried to boss him around which was funny. One time in the backyard she would tease Emmett to get her and then as soon as Emmett would run after her she would yell at him to stop. haha He thought it was pretty funny and every time she would do it he would chase after her slowly until she got far enough away and then he would run fast to catch up to her and then slow back down again. haha The whole time she would be screaming for him to stop! hah It was so funny! What a good week of sunshine, family and lots of laughs!
