Ending 2020 in Colorado Springs

On December 30th Brandon worked in the morning and then when he got off work we made the drive down to Colorado Springs to spend the weekend with Tyrel and Vandy and their kids. The boys were so excited to go see their cousins. On the way down the older boys took turns with the nintendo switch. Emmett played on the mini nintendo for a little while and then decided he was done. He ended up falling asleep on the way down.

Kayden saw Emmett playing on the mini nintendo and was spazing out because he wanted it. So when Emmett was done I gave it to Kayden. I figured he would get bored of it quickly since he didn't know how to actually play it. That did not deter him though. He stared at the screen playing the first part of Contra over and over again for probably 30 minutes or more. haha

When I tried taking it from him he would get all mad. So I just let him hold on to it the rest of the drive.
As soon as we arrived in Colorado Springs we made our way to IN N OUT!!! Thats right IN N OUT is officially open in Colorado. We were so excited to get some IN N OUT burgers and fries.

It took about 30 minutes to get through the drive thru. There were probably 30-40 cars in the line.
The boys were super excited to get their burgers. They kept saying how they love IN N OUT!
It makes my heart happy to hear that! haha
It was well worth the wait!! The only disappointment was that they mixed up my soda and gave me a root beer instead of a Diet Coke. Other than that it tasted delicious!!

Once we got to Ty and Vandy's house Kayden squealed, "PAPA, GIGI!!" haha He thought we were at Papa and Gigi's house. So when he got inside and saw Vandy and his cousins he was a little shocked to say the least. haha He got in the house and just stood there staring at everyone. haha It took him a little while to warm up to the fact that he was not where he thought he was going to be. After the shock of it all he was good and had fun running around the house and playing with the toys.

Especially their piano!! Beckham and Kayden were having a blast taking turns slamming on the piano keys to make as much noise as they possibly could. It was cute to hear their giggles as they were playing on the piano together.

Nothing better than making scary faces with these cuties!

New Years Eve was a little different for us this year. With us being in Colorado Springs we didn't do some of the things we have done in the past on New Years Eve with the kiddos.
So this year the boys had fun playing some games on the nintendo switch with their cousins.

Tired little Kayden!!

After playing some games for a while the kids were sent off to bed.
We didn't bang on pots and pans this year which felt kind of weird. I think we have done that every year with the kids since Ethan was tiny. So it didn't really feel like New Years Eve for me without doing that. At least the kids had fun with their cousins.

This was the last picture of Brandon and I in the year 2020!
We ended 2020 watching something and then Brandon and Tyrel played an old school game on the switch while we waited for midnight to arrive! Then it was off to bed for all of us!
We are looking forward to what 2021 will bring. Lets hope it brings something a little bit more normal. After a year of living through a pandemic with the Coronavirus we are ready for a year of normally. Not sure if that will happen in 2021 but we can sure hope. I am just glad that even though we were in a pandemic, life was still pretty good for us. Brandon still had a job and the boys had fun playing with each other and worked hard with school online. It was a different year that is for sure but, we made it through and enjoyed life as much as we could.
Good night 2020!!
Hello... 2021
