Emmett is officially 7 years old! He was so happy that his birthday was finally here. So we started the Birthday celebration the way we always do. He colored his crown and then we were off for Birthday Donuts.
Emmett told me that he wanted 2 long johns. Since it was his birthday I allowed it. The best part is that the lady that rang us up gave us his donuts for free because it was his Birthday. It was so nice of her to do that!! Emmett was stoked that he got his donuts for free and that he got 2 of them like he wanted. He didn't get close to eating both but, he was super happy about it. Which is all that matters! haha
Then the boys were off to their first golf lessons for the summer.
While the boys were at their golf lessons I grabbed some balloons for Emmett. I showed up with the balloons to pick up the boys and Emmett seemed to feel pretty special!
He also told me that he was given extra candy at the end of the lesson because it was his Birthday and they sang to him.
Then we packed up lunches and headed to the Harmony Pool!
We ate some lunch at the pool and let the boys swim for a while.
Then we headed home to eat German Pancakes (what Emmett asked for for dinner). After dinner we had presents and then his Birthday dessert.
Emmett couldn't wait to open up his presents. He was so happy it was so cute!
We couldn't tell if he was just hamming it up after opening up each gift or if he was just incredibly excited about each one! haha
Time for dessert!
Since the boys are not fans of cake I had to ask Emmett what he wanted for his Birthday dessert. He ended up wanting to do s'mores again. So I mentioned possibly doing a s'mores dip this year. So we wouldn't have to go roast marshmallows outside in the heat again this year. haha He thought it was a great idea. So that is exactly what we did!
He was pretty excited about his Birthday dessert. The kids actually ate way more of it than we thought that they would. So it all worked out!
I think Emmett had a good Birthday and I hope he felt special and spoiled! It is always fun trying to make their Birthday's extra special!
I still can't believe Emmett is 7. He has one more year until he gets baptized which is just crazy to me. He is at a hard stage right now with his brothers. He want's to fit in with the older boys and play with them but still wants to play for pretend games which the older boys are growing out of. Then when they think Kayden does something cute Emmett thinks maybe he will get their attention if he does the same thing. Which never works out because they just tell him he is too old to do those things. So he is kind of caught in the middle of no knowing how to be included with Wyatt and Emmett. Thankfully, they still have things in common and he loves his older brothers so much. He is still such a tender heart. Even if he is my sour patch kid (sour but also very sweet). He loves to help out if I tell him that he is a good helper and I really need his help. When that happens he is a very hard little worker and will do a lot for me. Emmett enjoys playing with Kayden and it is fun to watch them pretend together and Kayden absolutely loves it when Emmett plays with him. He has also started to swim without floaties on. He has gotten pretty good at it. He still needs them if he is going to swim in the deep end for a longer time. However, if he fell in to the deep end he would be able to swim to the edge just fine and get himself out. So that has been fun to watch and he feels so proud of himself. We sure do love our Emmett and can't wait to see what this year brings for him!
The next couple of days we got prepped for our trip to Idaho and tried to squeeze some fun into it as well.
We took the boys bowling!
Kayden still could care less about bowling. He will bowl a couple of times and then spend the rest of his time in the arcade.
Then we were off to go bike riding with the Ortiz family. The boys had so much fun the first time we went that they wanted to go again the next weekend as well.
After biking in the heat we headed to grab some lunch before heading back home to finish packing up.
