Fourth of July and visit from Family

Once we were back from our Idaho trip we had to get our house ready for a bunch of family coming into town. Tyrel and Vandy were coming with their kids. John and Coya were coming with their kids and Weston and Hayley were coming with their kids. Luckily, Weston and their family were staying with my parents. So we planned to do a big Fourth of July BBQ dinner with the whole crew. With all that in mind I had a lot to do in order to get ready for a mini reunion at our house. Cleaning, grocery shopping, a little bit of meal planning and more cleaning. It was a busy few days. Tyrel and Vandy got to our house first. The kids loved having their first set of cousins at our house and we had some fun going to the pool and having fun with each other.

I see some feet poking out of that box!! Kayden sat in this box in the garage and it just looked so funny!

The boys were in charge of getting their bathrooms and rooms all cleaned up before their cousins arrived. Wyatt cleaned up their bathroom and came down to tell me that his toilet looked like face. He had put the toilet paper rolls on top of the toilet and it made it look like eyes. haha Silly kid!!

Kayden and I had to go run some last minute errands before everyone showed up. On our way I stopped and got some lunch for the kiddos and then grabbed some for Kayden and I as we ran to Wallmart.  Kayden thought it was pretty fun sitting in the front seat of the car with me eating our lunch before we made our way into the store to grab some last minute groceries.
Then before we knew it our guests had arrived.
The next day Tyrel was wanting to go check out a Tesla in Denver. Vandy and I were out yet again grabbing a few more groceries. While we were out Brandon texted and asked if he could go with Tyrel to go check out the Tesla in Denver. I reluctantly said yes. So they took off right as Vandy and I were getting home. We got the kids all finished up with lunch and got them all ready to go swimming. The plan was for Brandon and Tyrel to join us at the pool not too long after we headed out to go swimming. Then things took a turn for the worse. While we were swimming Vandy got a call from Tyrel. While Vandy was on the phone I saw her expression change and then she looked at me and told me to come over where she was. I for an instant thought "Watch they were in an accident or something" Turns out I was right. Apparently, a motorcyclist ran a red light and crashed right into Brandons Audi! His car was TOTALED!! The motorcyclist was alive but had flown like 60 feet from where he hit the car. Brandon's Audi was destroyed!

I was so glad that Brandon and Tyrel were fine but I had to cry for Brandons car. It was so sad that his car was totaled. Especially since right now was not the best time to buy a car. The market is super high for buying any car right now. So that just made this hurt that much more. Plus it was Brandon's baby! His beautiful blue Audi! We all were pretty sad! On a side note Brandon said that he had started to go on his green arrow. Then he thought to look to his left as he had started to move. He looked to his left and saw the guy coming at him so he slammed on his breaks. Brandon said that if he had moved even a foot farther forward the guy could have gone through Brandon's window. If that had happened the guy could have died and Brandon would have been in the hospital really hurt. We also ended up finding out that the guy who hit Brandon of course did not have any insurance. So we were hosed in more ways than not. I kept thinking that if Tyrel had just dropped the idea of looking at a Tesla that weekend like I had said he should then this would not have happened. Or if I had just stuck to my guns and told Brandon that I didn't want him to go. Instead he should stick around and just have family time with us. Then this would not have happened. However, I didn't and this did happen. The other crappy part was that John and Coya and their kids were getting in town that evening. My Dad ended up driving down to Denver to go pick up Brandon and Tyrel since the now had no idea how they were going to get home without a car. So instead of me or Vandy going to pick up the men my Dad offered to go pick them up. By the time they were home I had to give Brandon a big hug! Happy that he was home safe and sound and sad that his car was no more. All of our boys were sad too. Kayden kept asking where Daddy's cool car was. and asking why it was broken. I thought Kayden was going to cry when we told him that his car was in the car trash. What a crazy change of events!!

Movie night for the kids!

Our cute super hero!
Then it was July 4th! We decided to grill burgers and hot dogs for 10 adults and 15 kids! It was a very busy afternoon! After dinner and dessert and some time just hanging out we all packed up and made our way to our lot to go watch the fireworks!

The fireworks this year were better than last year. This year there was actually a finally! Always fun to go watch the fireworks!

This was Emmett's poor bug bite on his shoulder. We could not tell if he was bit by a spider or if it was a couple of mosquito bites. Poor Emmett!

Mady had a phone this year and all the kids couldn't help but crowd around her and watch whatever she was watching or doing on her phone. Silly kids!!

Water Balloon time!

Kayden and Blaine were loving playing with their water balloons. They would just pick up a balloon and throw it immediately on the floor and go for another one.  It was quite funny to watch!

The kids enjoyed all the water balloon fun and before they knew it the balloons were gone. Blaine kept trying to find more and was really bummed that they were gone.

Going to the Temple!
Before John and Coya were coming our way we asked if they wanted to go to the Temple. Since Ethan and Mady are old enough to go to the Temple we thought it would be fun to take the 2 kiddos to the temple while they were here. So Coya watched the younger kiddos since her recommend was expired so Brandon, John and I went with Ethan and Mady!

It was a fun afternoon going to the House of the Lord with these cute kids!! I was so glad that we were able to do that with Mady and Ethan! Next time we will get Coya to come with us.
