Once we were back from our Idaho trip we had to get our house ready for a bunch of family coming into town. Tyrel and Vandy were coming with their kids. John and Coya were coming with their kids and Weston and Hayley were coming with their kids. Luckily, Weston and their family were staying with my parents. So we planned to do a big Fourth of July BBQ dinner with the whole crew. With all that in mind I had a lot to do in order to get ready for a mini reunion at our house. Cleaning, grocery shopping, a little bit of meal planning and more cleaning. It was a busy few days. Tyrel and Vandy got to our house first. The kids loved having their first set of cousins at our house and we had some fun going to the pool and having fun with each other.
I was so glad that Brandon and Tyrel were fine but I had to cry for Brandons car. It was so sad that his car was totaled. Especially since right now was not the best time to buy a car. The market is super high for buying any car right now. So that just made this hurt that much more. Plus it was Brandon's baby! His beautiful blue Audi! We all were pretty sad! On a side note Brandon said that he had started to go on his green arrow. Then he thought to look to his left as he had started to move. He looked to his left and saw the guy coming at him so he slammed on his breaks. Brandon said that if he had moved even a foot farther forward the guy could have gone through Brandon's window. If that had happened the guy could have died and Brandon would have been in the hospital really hurt. We also ended up finding out that the guy who hit Brandon of course did not have any insurance. So we were hosed in more ways than not. I kept thinking that if Tyrel had just dropped the idea of looking at a Tesla that weekend like I had said he should then this would not have happened. Or if I had just stuck to my guns and told Brandon that I didn't want him to go. Instead he should stick around and just have family time with us. Then this would not have happened. However, I didn't and this did happen. The other crappy part was that John and Coya and their kids were getting in town that evening. My Dad ended up driving down to Denver to go pick up Brandon and Tyrel since the now had no idea how they were going to get home without a car. So instead of me or Vandy going to pick up the men my Dad offered to go pick them up. By the time they were home I had to give Brandon a big hug! Happy that he was home safe and sound and sad that his car was no more. All of our boys were sad too. Kayden kept asking where Daddy's cool car was. and asking why it was broken. I thought Kayden was going to cry when we told him that his car was in the car trash. What a crazy change of events!!
Movie night for the kids!
It was a fun afternoon going to the House of the Lord with these cute kids!! I was so glad that we were able to do that with Mady and Ethan! Next time we will get Coya to come with us.
