Birthday Boy!

June 15th this year Emmett turned 3! I still can't believe he is a 3 year old. He had been super excited about his birthday coming for at least a week. Every morning he would say, "Mom! My birthday coming soon!" It was super cute. So we were excited for him to finally have his birthday arrive. We blew up a bunch of balloons and put up streamers and he was so happy about it. He also was very possessive of all the balloons. At first he wanted to pop them and then when Wyatt popped one he was super upset and told him not to pop his balloons. haha After playing with balloons for a little bit we had him color his birthday crown.

He isn't super into coloring at this stage yet. Although he did do a little bit of coloring so that was good. haha

Then we put on the crown and we all got in the car and made our way to get Birthday donuts!

We let Emmett pick whatever one he wanted. He ended up wanting the apple fritter which is normally what I get.

He said it was really good.

Then when we pulled out the croissant one that Brandon got to let everyone try well at least David and Hayley to try Emmett decided that that one was his too. haha So he had two big donuts on his plate. haha It was really funny! Especially since he didn't really want to share them. He kept saying that they were his. I finally convinced him to let David and Hayley have a bite. haha

It was fun having David and Hayley with us even if it was short lived. After donuts we headed home for just a little bit and then said Good Bye to David and Hayley. They were then on their way back to Denver and we were headed to the movie theatre to see "The Incredibles 2" We were super excited to see it. I was just hoping that Emmett would be better this time since he is older now. haha We haven't really taken the kids to the movies for a while because Emmett is the worst movie goer ever. All he does is walk around and get into peoples way and make us miss the movie. haha He did do better this time but he still wandered back and forth between my chair, his chair and Daddy's chair. Then a couple of times he just started walking down the isle like he was ready to leave. Some of the time he sat still and drank the diet coke we got. He was more interested in the soda than the popcorn. haha So other than those couple of times he did much better than he normally does at the theater. The movie was awesome! We will be buying it when it comes out.

After the movie we got home and tried to feed the kids a little something descent and then some friends came over to eat some cake and ice cream with us. It made for a really crazy day! By the way this cake took me all morning to make. I made modeling chocolate and sprayed it silver for the spokes and make rice Krispies for the handle bars and the pedal. It was a lot of work but I think it turned out pretty cute!

Time to sing "Happy Birthday" and blow out some candles!

Emmett's first attempt at his candles was a fail. Two other kids next to him decided that they needed to help him so they ended up blowing them out. So I relit the candles and let him do it again.

The second time he got them for sure! He was so funny because when his friend Allison blew them out the first time Emmett didn't get mad and throw a fit. Instead he just got a little sad and then put his hand gently on Allison's hand to softly tell her not to do it again. haha It was so cute!

Yummy cake time!!

He got 2 little presents from his friends. One was a water painting book and the other was a bunch of candy and light up finger things. Emmett was most excited about the candy. haha

Then it was present time.
Wyatt got Emmett a Mickey microphone and Ethan got him a Wubble Bubble ball. Brandon and I got him a new scooter!

He was super excited about all of his cool new presents.

When he tried the scooter out he wasn't as excited about it. It was kind of hard to turn because he is not used to having to just lean in order to turn. So he isn't quite into yet but after a little practice Im sure he will love it. haha

Grandpa and GG got him a little hover soccer ball game. All of the boys seem to enjoy it. haha

He also got 2 dollars from Great Grandma Murri and some money and candy from Grandma and Grandpa Murri. it was a pretty successful birthday. After cake and presents we had to go to Brandon and Wyatt's post op appointment and then we grabbed panda express for Ethan and Wyatt for dinner and Red Robin for me, Brandon and Emmett and ate in the car before heading home and getting ready for bed. It was a really busy day but he seemed to have fun! He really is such a blessing in our family. Even though he still wakes up at night most nights and sometimes a couple of times at night he makes us laugh and is such a sweetheart. He does know how to push his brothers buttons and still throws cars or other hard things at them randomly. He also has started this new thing where he will randomly tell me, "I don't like you." and he will be totally serious! Then when I act sad he will say that he likes me! haha I sure hope that this year of him being 3 isn't any harder than it already has been with him. haha We sure are blessed though and when he is not being a little stinker he can sure be a sweetheart and cuddle up. He still loves to play kitties and or baby cheetahs. We sure do love this kid and couldn't imagine life without him in it!! Happy Birthday Emmett!

Visit from Uncle David and Hayhay and losing teeth!

Our boys were so excited for Uncle David and Aunt Hayley to come hangout with us for the day. They had to get their teeth checked at Brandon's office and then they came to hangout and spend the night. So we just hangout and chatted until Brandon got home from work. While we relaxed and chatted a storm blew in. Then Wyatt and Ethan got their headphones out and started to sing to songs with headphones in. Aunt Hayley joined in with Wyatt. It was pretty funny. Yes I did get it on video! :-) After grabbing some dinner from Nordy's and eating it at home we got in our swim suits and headed over to the pool for just a little bit since the storm came and went pretty quickly.

It was fun hanging with them at the pool. We didn't last super long because it was pretty late and it was getting colder in the water. We left just before 7 and then decided to pull Ethan's tooth out. He had accidentally smacked his tooth on a pole at the pool and it loosed it up a lot more than it was before. So it was time to pull it out. Brandon had the idea to pull it out with his RC race car which Ethan was totally game for. I told him it wasn't a good idea because we would probably lose it. No body listened to me though. haha It was a pretty cool way to lose his first tooth though. He was so brave about it too. He wasn't nervous at all and was pretty excited to have it out. It took three attempts before it finally came out. The floss kept slipping right off his tooth. So the third time Brandon tied the floss as high as he could and as tight as he could and it finally worked.

Then the hunt for the tooth began. Brandon didn't believe me that we would lose it but I told him, "Mother knows best!" haha We searched for probably 40 minutes maybe even more for that tooth. Just as we were about to give up I decided to search the side near David and Hayleys car. As I got close to the sidewalk I was on all fours looking under their car and then I looked forward and I saw it. I had found Ethan's tooth!!!

This is my excited face because I found Ethan's tooth and Brandon owed me a dollar! :-) He said that whoever found the tooth got a dollar. haha Although I was just glad I found his tooth. Especially since it was his very first tooth that he lost.

Ethan was super happy that I had found it. Right before I found it Brandon was about to take Ethan inside to write the tooth fairy a note telling her how we lost his first tooth out on the driveway. So when I found it and showed it to me he was super excited and gave me a big hug and thanked me for finding it. He is less than a month away from turning 8 and had officially lost his first tooth!!!

Back to summer living

Brandon went back to work June 11th and life got back to normal. The boys started playing better together and had some fun doing some crafts and I let them paint outside one morning.

They had fun painting outside. I let them play outside a little bit and I believe we had to run some errands. I let Ethan read my grocery list and check things off as we went. He loved doing it and he acted so well behaved at the store. I think I need to put him in charge of the grocery list every time because he was so much better behaved than any other time we have gone to the store.

Then we went to our friends the Ortiz's for a movie night.

This was Wyatt's painting. He said it was Jupiter. haha

This was Ethan's and it is side ways. He said it was a picture of a boy throwing a basketball into the hoop. The ball was supposed to look closer and the person and basketball hoop were smaller to look farther away. He did a pretty good job.

So my sister Ashley is pregnant with their first little one. She sent a picture of her ultrasound at 13 weeks. I showed the boys and told them that Auntie Ashley is having a little baby. Emmett then a few minutes later came over to me like this and said, "I have a baby in my tummy. The baby wiggles and makes me hungry!" haha What a silly kid!! My question is what would make him think of the baby wiggling and making him hungry. I have never been pregnant with him around to have me say that and to give him a reference point. So it was pretty funny that he said that. Emmett is also very into babies right now. I think he wants a little baby brother or sister. Anytime we see a baby he wants to hold it. It is pretty cute!

I let the boys do water balloons on the trampoline which was kind of fun. But, then I told them they had to get all the little pieces off because if they got too hot and the plastic started to melt they would get stuck on the trampoline. So it was probably more work than worth it.

With Emmett's birthday coming that Friday I had to start making his cake. I was making a bicycle cake for him this year since he loves his bike so much. He calls it his, "Blue fast bike." So we thought what better cake to make him than a bike cake. It was going to be a lot of work. So I had to bake the cake and then freeze it so that I could put it together and frost it. I cut the 9/13 cake into 5 strips to use for the bike frame and then the round cakes for the wheels and the square cake I used to cut out the bike seat. It took a long time to make but it turned out pretty good.

On Wednesday that week I took Ethan into the eye doctor at Costco. He kept complaining about his eyes being tired and hurting him after reading for just a little while. That Wednesday morning he had a complete breakdown and started bawling because his eyes were hurting him. So I decided to take him into the eye doctor. I thought maybe he needed glasses for reading. The doc said that he had 20/20 vision but when it came to focusing he was slightly far sighted. He said that Ethan was .75 far sighted. So it was enough to get him some glasses for reading just to help it be a little easier on him and not cause so much strain on his eyes. So we ordered Ethan some glasses.

He was pretty excited to get these glasses but, we had to wait for almost a week before they came in.

It has been hard to get to the pool very often this summer. Between Brandon and Wyatt recovering and life just being really busy we have not made it there a whole lot yet. I do try to squeeze it in if I can though and the boys love it just as much as they did last year. I figured after our trips this month we will make sure we make it to the pool more often.

Thursday morning while I was putting together Emmett's birthday cake the boys got all crafty. I spent the whole morning working on the cake. It took me like 5 hours to get it all done because I had to keep refreezing the cake so that I could frost the already cut sections. Plus I made my own modeling chocolate this time. Which I felt super accomplished about. I thought it was super cool to make and it was really pretty easy and way tastier than fondant. Anyways, Wyatt decided to make pipe cleaner earrings for everyone. haha Pretty stylish if you ask me! :-) They handled me being busy all morning cake making really well and I was happy that they played so well together while I was so busy. I was trying to get it all done that morning because my brother David and his wife Hayley were coming to visit that day and I didn't want to work on it while they were there. Luckily I got it done just as they arrived! So it all worked out! :-)
