Party Time

Tuesday was a big day. Not only was it mine and Brandon's 8th Anniversary....

Beautiful flowers from my hubby!! 8 roses for 8 years of bliss! :-)

We had also decided to throw Ethan's party that afternoon as well and Jason and Devin were arriving that day. So the day ended up being kind of crazy. We had to get ready for the birthday party and then have the birthday party. I had planned on mostly just letting the kids play in the backyard with the slip and slide and water balloons and the little pool. Really the only thing that I planned on doing was a whip cream balloon fight. So after getting cupcakes ready and decorating Vandy, Lee and I started filling up water balloons with whip cream.

The whip cream fight did not last very long. I should have gotten more whip cream and filled up more balloons. The funniest thing about the whip cream balloons is that they didn't pop on the kids. They would bounce off the kids and then pop. After all but 2 balloons were gone to be fair I took the last 2 and popped one on Ethan's head (He didn't like that very much) and I popped one on Mady's head. Then Brandon and I started our own whip cream fight by grabbing the puddles of whip cream off the grass and throwing it at each other and other kids. After that everyone (minus the birthday boy) started soaking each other with water including me and Brandon. Ethan was mad because he wanted to throw another whip cream balloon and I don't think he wanted to get plastered with the whip cream balloon. So he was throwing a little fit for a little bit and being grumpy. He finally got out of his grumpy attitude and started having fun again.

Present Time:
Ethan got lots of cool little things from his friends and cousins. He got his own water balloons, a tennis ball racket and tennis balls, some sky landers from Mady and Decklyn and a kinex nerf gun from Kemry and Tate. It was a good birthday for him.

After presents and some cupcakes the kids played in the water some more.

I should not have planned the party to be 2 hours. That is a really long party for a bunch of kids to just run around and play in the water in the backyard. The kids kept asking when we were doing other things. There is only so much I can handle of other kids! haha Plus I was ready for it to be over and to relax for a little bit and get ready for my date that night!

While all the older kids were playing outside the younger boys were done playing outside.

They decided it would be more enjoyable to eat some chips on batman plates together! haha Cute little boys!!

After the party festivities Brandon and I planned on going out to dinner for our Anniversary. Luckily, we had family in town who were willing to watch our kiddos for us while we went out for just a little bit. So I got ready and got the kids dinner ready so that no one else had to worry about getting my kids food ready and then Brandon and I headed out to grab a bite to eat. We ended up going to Kaninos. An Italian restaurant near Old Town. It is literally an old house that they made into a restaurant. It was pretty yummy and a cute setup. Very little and quaint.

So we enjoyed a yummy meal and then walked through Sports Authority to see if there were any killer deals since it is going out of business and then we headed back home to hang with the family. So a pretty low key Anniversary date. We always feel bad leaving family with our kids when they are visiting or if we are visiting them because we want to spend time with them as well and we don't like pawning our children off on them. It was a needed date night though. Especially since the rest of the day was crazy! We needed a break and to get some time alone for our Anniversary! So we were thankful that Brandon's family was willing to watch the kids for a little bit and put them to bed. We got home after our date and played some games with everyone and then went to bed to get some rest before the festivities all started on Wednesday!

Let the fun begin!!

Sunday Ty and Vandy got to our house around dinner time. So we had more than half of the people that were going to be staying at our house already at our house by Sunday night. The kids were having a blast with all their cousins playing with them. The fun had started. It was going to be a wild and exciting week!!

Wyatt took a break from the other kids and was playing with the babies. haha He was being so sweet to the babies. It was cute to watch him helping out the little ones.

Our setup for meals. :-) We had our table extended with 2 extra chairs at the table, the card table out, 2 high chairs and a high chair that attaches to the counter. It was a full house! :-)

 Birthday Cake Time!
Thankfully the boys were all better by Sunday so we didn't have to quarantine them any longer. Plus Sunday evening we finally sang to Ethan and let him have his cake.

We decided to cut a piece out of the cake and put candles on that since he had been sick and we didn't want him to blow all over the whole cake. So we cut out a piece and put 6 candles on it and sang to him.

Then it was time to chow down on some Wolverine cake! :-)

On Monday we decided it would be fun to go mini golfing with the kiddos. It didn't seem warm enough to go to the pool mostly because it was windy. So we took the kids mini golfing. Vandy stayed back with the babies since Piper was about to go down for a nap so I put Emmett down for a nap and the rest of us left.

It turned into the adults playing our own game and the kids playing theirs in front of us. At first I was carrying me and Tyrel and then I fell off the map and started doing terrible (which is how I usually play). By the end we had tied with Coya and John.

It ended up being really hot while playing mini golf and we decided to go grab slurpees after playing in the arcade for a little bit. It worked out nicely going to 7 Eleven because the date was 7/11 which means free slurpees! So we went to the nearest 7 Eleven after golfing and all grabbed free slurpees. It was a great end to the fun!

The kids were so excited when Grandma and Grandpa got here. They literally attacked him! haha Dog pile on Grandpa!!! :-)

That evening after Brandon's parents arrived we deiced to get Nordy's take out for dinner! It was an awesome end to the day and oh so very yummy!! So we only had 3 more people to add to the mix before everyone had arrived. The next day would complete the additional families coming and then the fun could really start! :-)
