Fourth of July Fun!

Fourth of July was pretty chill this year. Although, you can't expect it to be super exciting and busy when you have a 1 year old who still takes 2 naps. We were able to do a couple of fun things. One thing we did was going to our community pool. They were giving out free hamburgers and hot dogs so we figured it would be fun to go swim and eat some free food. It was super busy at the pool. We ended up picnicking it on a blanket on the grass and Brandon stood in line for about 40 minutes to get some food for us. It was super hot when we got there and by the time we ate our food and were ready to swim the clouds came in and it got windier. Once that happened the boys didn't last long. Emmett started shivering in the water and the boys were ready to leave shortly after that. It was fun though and then we hung out at home for a while. The boys played out in the front yard and Brandon and I relaxed while Emmett took a nap. We had some chicken wraps for dinner and then went outside and did our tiny amount of fireworks that were left over from last year.

Emmett was nice enough to share his cookie with me! :-)

On our way home Ethan was acting like he was asleep. We knew better. haha Silly kid! It was fun hanging out at the pool and it sure was hot for most of the morning. On to the next festivities!

By the end of playing with sparklers the boys were acting like animals and not using their brains. They kept trying to touch the black part of the sparklers (you know the part that was on fire and then turns black when the fire goes out). Wyatt ended up burning his thumb and finger and had blisters and Ethan told me that we shouldn't do those fireworks again and that we should only do the ones that we watch. haha I guess they can't handle being safe with sparklers. Which is funny because last year they did great and were careful but still had fun. Oh well, we will see what happens next year. Other than that it was a pretty good fourth of July!

After the boys went to bed Brandon and I watched a movie and then saw a little bit of the firework shows that were going on near town. This was about all we got to see! haha Happy Fourth of July!! :-)
