Our fun for the first week of April!

After getting home from our staycation we were hit with a stomach bug! I wonder if Emmett really did start it and then it just past through all of us. Wyatt got it first and was down for the count on Sunday. Then later that Sunday Ethan started to not feel very well and had the runs. Brandon's stomach started to hurt him that evening before going to bed and ended up having to come home half day the next day because he felt so terrible. I had some sharp pains in my stomach but never threw up. I ended up having stomach pains for that whole week with a little bit of the runs and finally started purging everything by the end of that week. It was a miserable week and we were so glad when it was over with!

The first part of Conference Sunday no one wanted to sit next to each other. I guess that is the one problem with such a massive couch! haha

Then all of a sudden they all wanted to sit too close to me!! haha

We sure do love our goofy family!

Family Bike Ride Sunday in between sessions of conference when Wyatt said he was feeling good enough to go on a bike ride. After this bike ride we got home and he crashed hard and was not feeling good again. It was not the best Conference weekend!!

After mostly everyone was feeling better except for me, I decided to take Wyatt and Emmett to the Discovery Museum to get out of the house.

They had a blast but I was just surviving the afternoon. I kept getting shooting pains through my stomach. It was not a fun afternoon for me. Luckily, the kids had fun with it and we were able to go meet Brandon for lunch that afternoon!

This is the only picture I have been able to get of Emmett praying! haha He normally looks super cute and has his eyes closed tight but of course this time he just looks mad! haha

We started a new rule at our house. If the boys don't eat their dinner in 30 minutes they have to eat it for breakfast the next morning. They did a good job for the first couple of nights that we enforced the rule and then Wyatt didn't finish his one night. So this was him eating his dinner for breakfast. He was not the happiest about it. I don't think they will make that mistake again! haha

What a silly little stinker! He makes the funniest faces! :-)

Later that week we also headed to the CSU campus. They were doing an activity night where you go around and get to meet all of the sports teams and you get stamps on a card and when we filled it all up the kids got to win a little prize on the prize spinning wheel. The best part of the night was that we go goody bags from McDonalds that came with a card for Free kids meals once a month for a whole year!! Pretty AWESOME since the boys love McDonalds!!! :-)

Emmett kept waving to this mascot and as soon as the squirrel started walking towards him to give him a high five Emmett ran away in sheer terror! haha

Brandon helped him be brave and Emmett ended up giving her a high five! haha

It was not super fun but it was fun enough. The kids liked being able to take part in each of the sports activities. The basketball one was cool because the basketball players were there helping the kids make their shots. Emmett got picked up by this super tall team mate to help him make his shot. It was pretty cute! Wyatt got picked up as well! haha

One morning I really needed to take a shower. I decided to move our islands chairs behind our gate so that Emmett couldn't climb up on the counter since that is his new favorite place to be. He likes to climb up and play with the water in the sink. So I moved the chairs thinking that that would keep him safely off the counter while I took a quick shower. Ya.... that didn't help! When I was coming downstairs I could hear the water running. As I came around the corner I saw Emmett standing in a puddle of water flinging the bottle brush around that had water all over it. So naturally I had to take a picture before getting him down and cleaning up. He had moved our chairs from the table over to the island so that he could climb up onto the counter. Wyatt had moved a chair over to the sink so I am guessing that is what gave him the idea. Now Emmett moves those chairs all over the kitchen to where ever he want to climb and get to whatever he wants to.

One Friday school was out and we had a meeting with Ethan's teacher to discuss what we need to do to help him out. He is still pretty behind where he should be with reading and writing for the end of the school year. We are going to have to get him a tutor for the summer and really work with him so he is ready for 2nd grade. After our meeting with Ethan's teacher we got ready and headed to go Mini Golfing with our friends the Myers!

Emmett was super tired and kept falling. His face!!!! haha

It was a lot of fun and after golfing we grabbed some firehouse subs and headed to the park to eat our lunch and let the kids play some more.

Later that evening I took Wyatt to the store to pick out a toy for his friends birthday party he was going to the next day. I decided to make it a little fun one on one time. So after getting the toys we wanted to get for his friends I let Wyatt pick our a candy that we could share. We then laid the chairs in the back of the car down and ate half of this massive KitKat in the back of the car. It was fun just being goofy with him and having a little bit of fun. Plus he was funny to talk to when it was just me and him. He was telling me that, "When I am a Dad I am going to live near you mom!" He also told me that he was going to have 4 kids "2 boys and 2 girls" haha. All I know is that I am going to hold to what Wyatt said about living near me when he is a Dad and remind him when he is a little older! haha
Something else that my boys say that is funny is how much they love Brandon's car. They are always saying how fast Brandon's car is and how cool it is. Wyatt will tell me that when he is a Dad he wants to have a car just like his Daddy's. haha Ethan has also said that he wants to buy a car like Dad's when he is older. They just think the Honda is the coolest car! haha We think it is so funny because it is old and beat up and yet the boys think it is cool and super fast and want to get one just like it when they get older!! haha

Donut run!! :-) Saturday mornings have become our Donut days the Emmet REALLY loves it!! I asked him that morning if he wanted to go get donuts with me and he yelled, "DONUT!!!!!!!!"  haha

Staycation

That weekend Brandon had a CE course down in Denver. We decided to make it a family stacation weekend. So after Ethan got done with school that Friday I headed down to Denver with the boys. We met Brandon at the hotel and then headed over to get dinner. We were going to eat at Cheesecake Factory but the wait was almost 2 hours long. So we looked up on our phones and found a little Italian restaurant closer to our Hotel. It was pretty yummy and the kids ate well.

Yum!!

After that we headed just around the street and went bowling. The bowling was EXPENSIVE!!! We couldn't believe how much we spent for our family to play 1 game of bowling. It was not worth the amount that it cost. We were a little upset when we paid.

At least we had fun!! It was one of those times where Brandon and I look at each other and just say, "Its family time". I wish it was cheaper family time but oh well. Ethan got a few strikes without even using the bumpers and Wyatt was being like me and slipping and falling after throwing his ball a few times. Emmett was impatient and just wanted it to be his turn the whole time. haha Memories!!

Pretending to sleep on my bed! :-)

Of course its beds time and the kids are in no way tired and ready to go to sleep!

The Hotel room was pretty nice. It was a suite and it was a lot bigger than other hotels we have stayed at. Sadly, that is all it had going for it. There didn't seem to be any insulation between the walls. We could hear EVERYTHING!! The person above us kept getting up and walking around what seemed like every 30 minutes throughout the night. The air/heating units must have been right outside our window and kicked on loudly every so often. Emmett kept crying through the night and I finally ended up sleeping on the couch right next to his pack n play and that was the only way he would stop crying and go to sleep. It was such a long night! We were EXHAUSTED the next morning. I was not in the best mood because of how tired I was after the worst night of sleep I have had in a long time.

That morning Brandon had to head to his CE course again so I took the boys down to breakfast myself. Things were going ok at breakfast. Emmett was all over the place as usual and didn't want to eat all that much. Then randomly Emmett threw up all over!! That was fun to clean up! YUCK!

He was sure happy even though he threw up all over.
As we were getting done with breakfast Wyatt started complaining that his tummy was hurting him. I was now worried that Wyatt would throw up which is especially not fun when you have an hour and half drive home that day.

After breakfast we headed back to the room to relax for a little while and watch some cartoons. Yet again another disadvantage to this hotel stay is that they didn't have Disney Channel. So the boys had to watch these really dumb cartoons on Nick and cartoon network and things like that. It wasn't until right before taking off that I found that the T.V in the living room area had a DVD player and I could have put on one of our movies for the kid instead of letting them watch those dumb cartoons.

I sure do love these goofy boys! :-)

Ethan wanted a picture of just him making his eyes go different ways. haha

After checking out of the hotel we headed to the mall to walk around a little bit. I thought that there was a play place in the mall but I was wrong. So instead of getting to let the kids play we just walked around for a while until Brandon got done and met up with us.

The boys had a lot of fun climbing around this fountain/pond in the mall. I even let them have a penny each to throw in the water because they wanted to do it so badly. After that we headed to the food court to get some lunch. Emmett was so tired and grumpy that he didn't eat much of anything. Wyatt kept complaining that his tummy was hurting him and it was super crowded at the mall. I was super done by the time Brandon arrived. Before heading home though we made one last stop.

Frozen Yogurt!
We headed to this place slightly south of the mall to try it out and see if it was any good. The kids were excited to get some ice cream and we figured it would be a fun end to the staycation. It was pure craziness and I couldn't wait to get the kids in the car and have them fall asleep! haha Although it got a little stressful for some of our little trip we did have a lot of fun with our crazy kiddos!! We sure do love doing things like this with them. It's simple and yet gets us out of the house for a couple of days! So it was worth it! Next time we won't get such a crappy hotel! haha
