Staycation

That weekend Brandon had a CE course down in Denver. We decided to make it a family stacation weekend. So after Ethan got done with school that Friday I headed down to Denver with the boys. We met Brandon at the hotel and then headed over to get dinner. We were going to eat at Cheesecake Factory but the wait was almost 2 hours long. So we looked up on our phones and found a little Italian restaurant closer to our Hotel. It was pretty yummy and the kids ate well.

Yum!!

After that we headed just around the street and went bowling. The bowling was EXPENSIVE!!! We couldn't believe how much we spent for our family to play 1 game of bowling. It was not worth the amount that it cost. We were a little upset when we paid.

At least we had fun!! It was one of those times where Brandon and I look at each other and just say, "Its family time". I wish it was cheaper family time but oh well. Ethan got a few strikes without even using the bumpers and Wyatt was being like me and slipping and falling after throwing his ball a few times. Emmett was impatient and just wanted it to be his turn the whole time. haha Memories!!

Pretending to sleep on my bed! :-)

Of course its beds time and the kids are in no way tired and ready to go to sleep!

The Hotel room was pretty nice. It was a suite and it was a lot bigger than other hotels we have stayed at. Sadly, that is all it had going for it. There didn't seem to be any insulation between the walls. We could hear EVERYTHING!! The person above us kept getting up and walking around what seemed like every 30 minutes throughout the night. The air/heating units must have been right outside our window and kicked on loudly every so often. Emmett kept crying through the night and I finally ended up sleeping on the couch right next to his pack n play and that was the only way he would stop crying and go to sleep. It was such a long night! We were EXHAUSTED the next morning. I was not in the best mood because of how tired I was after the worst night of sleep I have had in a long time.

That morning Brandon had to head to his CE course again so I took the boys down to breakfast myself. Things were going ok at breakfast. Emmett was all over the place as usual and didn't want to eat all that much. Then randomly Emmett threw up all over!! That was fun to clean up! YUCK!

He was sure happy even though he threw up all over.
As we were getting done with breakfast Wyatt started complaining that his tummy was hurting him. I was now worried that Wyatt would throw up which is especially not fun when you have an hour and half drive home that day.

After breakfast we headed back to the room to relax for a little while and watch some cartoons. Yet again another disadvantage to this hotel stay is that they didn't have Disney Channel. So the boys had to watch these really dumb cartoons on Nick and cartoon network and things like that. It wasn't until right before taking off that I found that the T.V in the living room area had a DVD player and I could have put on one of our movies for the kid instead of letting them watch those dumb cartoons.

I sure do love these goofy boys! :-)

Ethan wanted a picture of just him making his eyes go different ways. haha

After checking out of the hotel we headed to the mall to walk around a little bit. I thought that there was a play place in the mall but I was wrong. So instead of getting to let the kids play we just walked around for a while until Brandon got done and met up with us.

The boys had a lot of fun climbing around this fountain/pond in the mall. I even let them have a penny each to throw in the water because they wanted to do it so badly. After that we headed to the food court to get some lunch. Emmett was so tired and grumpy that he didn't eat much of anything. Wyatt kept complaining that his tummy was hurting him and it was super crowded at the mall. I was super done by the time Brandon arrived. Before heading home though we made one last stop.

Frozen Yogurt!
We headed to this place slightly south of the mall to try it out and see if it was any good. The kids were excited to get some ice cream and we figured it would be a fun end to the staycation. It was pure craziness and I couldn't wait to get the kids in the car and have them fall asleep! haha Although it got a little stressful for some of our little trip we did have a lot of fun with our crazy kiddos!! We sure do love doing things like this with them. It's simple and yet gets us out of the house for a couple of days! So it was worth it! Next time we won't get such a crappy hotel! haha
