The Blackmores

Thursday night Brandon flew into San Diego and stayed with our old Dental School friends the Blackmores. That Friday morning the kids and I drove down to southern San Diego to meet up with this wonderful family that we miss so much and of course to pick up Brandon. It was a long drive with the kiddos but, thankfully we have GPS in the car so I didn't feel like I was going to get lost. haha Brandon went golfing with Sid that morning and by the time we had made it to the Naval Base Brandon and Sid had just gotten done golfing. We were planning on playing at the beach for a little while but it was so windy and so cold that we only lasted on the beach for probably a half hour. Then we decided to head out and grab some lunch together. We were not able to stay and hangout too long because Ashley had gotten in town Thursday night and Tifany was getting in that afternoon. So I wanted to make sure that I got to spend time with Ashley especially since she flew down to see us that weekend. So it was a short visit with the Blackmores but it was a lot of fun catching up with them. We had so much fun with them in Arizona doing dinner/movie nights at each others houses so it was fun to see them again.

The tide was super low so there were sea shells everywhere.

The kids had a blast finding cool looking sea shells.

Some of the crew standing in the wind chatting it up.

I love how Emmetts hair was blowing in the wind. haha It was SO... windy!

Wyatt was having so much fun letting the water run over his feet and then having his feet disappear in the sand! haha Even though the water was freezing he really had fun with that. We will have to go back to California in the summer some time and go to the beach again! :-)

There was a cool boat just laying on the shore. I was too much of a wimp from the cold that I didn't walk over to it. Plus I was trying to keep an eye on my boys so they didn't trip in the water and get taken off by the waves!

Ethan was having a lot of fun playing in the sand.

These three were all huddled up in there sweatshirts eating some snacks trying to stay warm!

After braving the cold wind for a while we took off. There were only 2 cars down by the ocean so we piled into our car and their little sedan so we could get to their suburban in one trip instead of having to have some people wait for the other car to come back for them.

The huge bridge connecting the naval base and the main land!

We went to this burger place for lunch that was a Diners, Drive Ins and Dives place. It was pretty good but it was crazy with the little ones. Well mainly Emmett made it crazy! haha

The burgers were HUGE and the fries were yummy! Its still hard to pass up IN N OUT... no one can beat that! haha

Almost all the boys were wearing red. haha

It was so much fun seeing this AWESOME family again. Their kids have gotten so much older it is crazy. It feels like just yesterday we were in AZ with them and I was teaching their oldest Aliana's class in primary when she was 8. Now most of them are teenagers! It is so crazy!! They are such a good family and we were so glad to have had the chance to see them again. Thank goodness they got stationed in San Diego so we could visit with them! After saying our good byes we headed back to my parents house so we could beat the traffic!
