Birthday Party Fun

This year was Wyatt's year for a birthday party. It was the first one ever for Wyatt and he was so excited. He couldn't wait to have his friends come over for his party. He talked about it all the time and kept asking what day it was to see how many more days he had till his birthday party. I let him invite who ever he wanted to even if I knew a couple of the boys would be a little over the top on the crazy scale. However, it was his very first party and I wanted him to be able to invite whoever he wanted to. He wants to have a Paw Patrol party so that is what we did. I got all things Paw Patrol and made a "Rubble" Paw Patrol cake because he said that was his favorite of all the Paw Patrol dogs. We had his party the Saturday before his actual birthday since his birthday was on a Tuesday this year and the weekend after his birthday was conference weekend and I didn't want to try to have it on conference weekend. So we decided to have the party the Saturday before and it worked out. There were only 3 other kids that we invited that couldn't make it. We had 4 boys and 1 little girl come to the party. The little girl that came was from Wyatt's preschool class and he has been playing with her at school a lot. He always wants to follow her home and makes sure he says bye to her. So he was very excited when she was able to come to his party. What was even cuter was that at his party when she spilled her water bottle on the floor he jumped up and grabbed a towel and cleaned it up for her. I went over to help and he said he could do it. He also wanted to make sure that she got a turn to hit the piñata before the other boys. It was super cute to watch him look out for her and help her out. Her name is Ruby and she is a cutie. When her Dad picked her up after the party he was telling me how little Ruby has such a big crush on Wyatt and that she had been carrying around the invitation to his party the whole week. He said he would try to get rid of it and then all of a sudden she would have it again. haha So stinking cute! So anyways, we had the party from 12-2 and we fed the kids pizza for lunch and then let them play. I bought some glow in the dark balloons and just let the kids go crazy in the basement with them. Sadly, it didn't work out as well as I had hoped it would. One kid kept trying to shoot the other kids with our nerf guns and when I told him to stop he said, "but they are my targets." I told him he had to use something else as targets and if he shot anyone else that he wouldn't get to do the piñata. Then another kid was set on playing basketball in the basement and wouldn't leave the light off. So I turned it on and he turned it off right after me. I told him to leave it on and he told me no. I told him that we were leaving it on and he tried turning the lights off again. I was loosing my patience by that point and finally got him to leave the lights off. I still couldn't believe he was mouthing off to me. Anyways, so the kids played in the basement for a little while and then popped all the balloons and played with just the glowing lights that were in the balloons. After that we had presents, cake and the piñata to end the afternoon. It was wild and crazy and I was beat mentally by the time everyone was gone. haha

They look so calm just sitting there. Sadly, this was after yelling for people to stop and to sit down. haha I had barely told everyone to go find a seat before Wyatt was already starting to rip into one of his presents. I made him stop and told all the boys to take a seat and then thankfully got a picture. Everything after this picture was craziness. Boys grabbing the toy that Wyatt had just opened because it was cool and they wanted to see it and just boys being boys. It was a mad house and I was stressed out after trying to manage the chaos! haha

Cake time!!

This was Wyatt trying to get everyone to pay attention and listen to him. haha Like he kept saying, "Im the boss." haha

Look at my handsome 5 year old. How did he get so big so fast!!

All the kids seemed to enjoy the cake. A few of them kept saying it was the best cake ever! haha So at least that was good to hear! haha

Piñata Time!!
Wyatt had been looking forward to having a piñata for a long time. He was talking about wanting a piñata for his birthday party last year when he wasn't even having a party. haha So he was pretty stoked that it was actually happening this year.

Ethan was the last to hit the piñata and he brought the poor puppy to the ground. The kids then went on a mad run to get as much candy as they possibly could. One little boy starting whining and complaining that he didn't get much candy. So our sweet little Wyatt decides out of the kindness of his heart to give his friend some of his candy. Then the boy grabbed 2 more candy's out of Wyatt's hands after he had already given him some. That and he grabbed one that Wyatt really wanted for himself and when Wyatt told him that he wanted that specific candy and asked for it back the kid jerked away and left so that Wyatt couldn't get it. Wyatt then was pretty sad because he had wanted that piece of candy and this kid took it from him. I was pretty upset since Wyatt was being so nice to his friend and giving him some of his own candy even though the kid had gotten a lot of candy. Then to have him take even more candy than Wyatt had so generously given to him made me pretty upset. I kind of wanted to smack the kid! Luckily, Wyatt had another friend that came over after seeing Wyatt upset and tried to make him feel better by giving him one of his candies. After the piñata escapade we headed inside and decided to put on Paw Patrol's for the kids to watch while I put names on goodie bag and filled them up before the kids headed home. I was really happy to have all of the kids out of my house. haha Another nice thing was that my friend Deanna had stayed instead of just dropping off her son Jacob. So she was able to help round up the kids as well. Plus it gave me someone to talk to while the kids were playing.

A few random pics from the month of September

At the beginning of the month Emmett got a little illness. He got a fever and was not feeling very well. He looks so sad!! I was just hoping it wouldn't turn into Wyatt's sickness. Thankfully it didn't!

So Emmett is all into lining his cars and scooters in a row these days. It is like he is parking his stuff. He does this with his lightning McQueen cars by our front porch steps too. haha I remember when Ethan used to line up cars and things in a line all the time too. Its funny to watch Emmett doing it these days!

Wyatt is looking so much older these days!!! What happened to my little Wyatt?? Time goes by too fast! This particular day he wanted me to do his hair like his Daddy. I tried my best! haha He looks so handsome!!

After waking up in the morning Emmett just wanted to lay on me. He didn't move and just snuggled up. I was really enjoying it and totally fine with this happening. Sadly, it was short lived because I had to get up and make him chocolate milk and make Ethan's lunch for school. But, for that short time I enjoyed snuggling with him.

I was cutting an onion last Sunday and it was a horribly potent one. My eyes were tearing so bad. I don't think I have had my eyes cry that much from cutting an onion before. Brandon was gone and I decided to fake it to my boys that I was crying and really sad. I turned to them and told them that I needed a hug. They got really confused looks on their faces and then when I said it again they came over and gave me hugs. Then when I told them I was just teasing them and that I wasn't really sad but that it was because of the onion. Ethan said, "I thought you were going blind." haha Silly kid!! I am such a mean mom! They really looked concerned. Ethan looked like he was going to cry with me and Wyatt looked like he might have if I kept it up any longer. haha

Look at that Hottie of a man I get to be married to and be with FOREVER!!!

Wyatt did this at preschool and he said it was Jupiter! He was very proud of it! :-)

We finally put the training wheels back on the little bike for Emmett. He is now tall enough to be able to try and ride it. He can ride the little red bike we have so now it is time to upgrade him and he was pretty excited about it!

Lastly, the other day Wyatt put on Ethan's batman costume and we put Emmett's batman cape on and they were running around playing batman. It was super cute to watch them play together. Emmett likes to sing the batman theme song which is pretty hilarious every time he sings it! haha He gets a really intense face sings it like he is mad! haha

Emmett has been loving to say his own prayers these days. He also is really funny when its his turn to pray. He will tell Wyatt to be quiet if Wyatt is trying to help him. haha

What a good life I have!! My kiddos drive me crazy some times but I wouldn't change it for the world!!

Just enjoying life in September

The following week after getting back from Utah we were enjoying our nice hot weather and trying to get out and enjoy it while it lasted! So I took the boys to the park to play was morning.

Wyatt decided to climb up to the top of the Mammoth at the fossil creek park. I did not pose him this way or tell him how to sit. I just took the picture of him already sitting that way. haha

If you can't see there is purple goop all over Emmett's hands! That is putty that Ethan got from Mady Keck. Emmett found it in Ethan's bubble tape container. He was all excited and said, "gum" I told him it was not gum and then he just kind of carried it around with him. Then he and Wyatt were watching cartoons and then I turned it off. I was at my computer for a couple of minutes when Wyatt came over to see what I was doing. I asked him where Emmett was and he said he was still on the couch. I thought that was odd that he was still just sitting on the couch by himself without the tv on. I had totally forgotten that he had the container with putty in it. Well when I went to check on him he had purple goop all over the couch and all over his hands. I checked his mouth to see if he had any left in his mouth and he didn't. Then I spent some time trying to get it off the couch and off his hands. Thankfully, I think I got all of it off and salvaged it. He did not like having all that purple goop all over his hands. I am still surprised it went back together after being salivated all over it! haha
I think he finally realized that it was definitely not gum!! haha

Ethan came home from school with this in his backpack. I think he loves me even though he fights with me! haha

This is hard to see since it is sideways. Wyatt had a bear picnic at preschool where they were supposed to bring a bear stuffed animal and have a lunch packed with "B" foods. So I made Wyatt a bagel sandwich with a blue gatorade, some berry veggie snacks and braided pretzels! Wyatt was so excited to have lunch at school. It worked out that Ethan was getting hot lunch that day so that I could send Wyatt to school with Ethan's lunch box.

When you have 3 boys and there is a good sized praying mantis in the backyard this is the sight that you will see. They sat here looking at this praying mantis for possibly 10 minutes. They were trying to feed it and everything. haha

So we had what was supposed to be the last hot day for a little while so we decided to take advantage of the 87 degree weather and go swimming at Harmony country club after Ethan got home from school.

Of course the wind had picked up a little bit and I am a pansy when it comes to being in pools when it is even slightly chilly. We didn't last very long but at least it was a fun quick little outing! The boys enjoyed swimming and or course sitting in the hot tub! haha

Brandon finally had a morning off (it has been a while) so we took advantage of that time and went for donuts with Wyatt and Emmett. This was Emmett's happy donut face! haha

Then Wyatt was dying to watch the Grinch. Brandon was very against it the first time that he mentioned wanting to watch it. However, that all changed when he asked again to watch it Friday morning. Wyatt really.. wanted to watch it. So we gave in and he watched The Grinch. I have not even mentioned Christmas movies or music to my boys yet and here they are watching it of their own free will and choice! haha
Then I stopped the movie for just a little bit to go to Toys R us. I needed to get the rest of my party stuff for Wyatt's birthday party the next day. While we were there Emmett found this cute little puppy!
Look at that face! Emmett looked so happy with this little puppy! I didn't even have a chance to stop him from grabbing it. I turned down a corner and called for him to follow and next thing I know he has it in his hand and is saying, "cute.. puppy!" He was having the puppy talk to the toys and wouldn't let go of it. He kept it very snug in his arm and death gripped it. haha I texted Brandon and he said I should just give it to him and say "Happy Day" which is how Emmett says Happy Birthday. I decided after much deliberation that I would do just that. So I had to pry it out of his hands to pay for it which was torture for him. Then I turned around and handed it to him and said happily, "Happy Day" He then got supper excited and yelled, "HAPPY DAY!!" he was so happy!! He hugged that little puppy so tight. It was totally worth it! haha

Later that day Brandon and I had a group golf date night to go to! The weather had been really nice earlier in the day and by the afternoon it was raining and windy and a lot colder. Luckily by the time we were golfing the rain had stopped. So I wore pants and a jacket and thankfully the weather held on for us to enjoy our date night.

By the end of our golf evening I was officially freezing and ready to eat some food! So we all met up in the club house and at some Qudoba and socialized for a little while before calling it a night and heading home. It was all in all a good day! It got pretty crazy right before I left for our date night but since the evening ended with a date I was happy! :-)
