Birthday Party Fun

This year was Wyatt's year for a birthday party. It was the first one ever for Wyatt and he was so excited. He couldn't wait to have his friends come over for his party. He talked about it all the time and kept asking what day it was to see how many more days he had till his birthday party. I let him invite who ever he wanted to even if I knew a couple of the boys would be a little over the top on the crazy scale. However, it was his very first party and I wanted him to be able to invite whoever he wanted to. He wants to have a Paw Patrol party so that is what we did. I got all things Paw Patrol and made a "Rubble" Paw Patrol cake because he said that was his favorite of all the Paw Patrol dogs. We had his party the Saturday before his actual birthday since his birthday was on a Tuesday this year and the weekend after his birthday was conference weekend and I didn't want to try to have it on conference weekend. So we decided to have the party the Saturday before and it worked out. There were only 3 other kids that we invited that couldn't make it. We had 4 boys and 1 little girl come to the party. The little girl that came was from Wyatt's preschool class and he has been playing with her at school a lot. He always wants to follow her home and makes sure he says bye to her. So he was very excited when she was able to come to his party. What was even cuter was that at his party when she spilled her water bottle on the floor he jumped up and grabbed a towel and cleaned it up for her. I went over to help and he said he could do it. He also wanted to make sure that she got a turn to hit the piñata before the other boys. It was super cute to watch him look out for her and help her out. Her name is Ruby and she is a cutie. When her Dad picked her up after the party he was telling me how little Ruby has such a big crush on Wyatt and that she had been carrying around the invitation to his party the whole week. He said he would try to get rid of it and then all of a sudden she would have it again. haha So stinking cute! So anyways, we had the party from 12-2 and we fed the kids pizza for lunch and then let them play. I bought some glow in the dark balloons and just let the kids go crazy in the basement with them. Sadly, it didn't work out as well as I had hoped it would. One kid kept trying to shoot the other kids with our nerf guns and when I told him to stop he said, "but they are my targets." I told him he had to use something else as targets and if he shot anyone else that he wouldn't get to do the piñata. Then another kid was set on playing basketball in the basement and wouldn't leave the light off. So I turned it on and he turned it off right after me. I told him to leave it on and he told me no. I told him that we were leaving it on and he tried turning the lights off again. I was loosing my patience by that point and finally got him to leave the lights off. I still couldn't believe he was mouthing off to me. Anyways, so the kids played in the basement for a little while and then popped all the balloons and played with just the glowing lights that were in the balloons. After that we had presents, cake and the piñata to end the afternoon. It was wild and crazy and I was beat mentally by the time everyone was gone. haha

They look so calm just sitting there. Sadly, this was after yelling for people to stop and to sit down. haha I had barely told everyone to go find a seat before Wyatt was already starting to rip into one of his presents. I made him stop and told all the boys to take a seat and then thankfully got a picture. Everything after this picture was craziness. Boys grabbing the toy that Wyatt had just opened because it was cool and they wanted to see it and just boys being boys. It was a mad house and I was stressed out after trying to manage the chaos! haha

Cake time!!

This was Wyatt trying to get everyone to pay attention and listen to him. haha Like he kept saying, "Im the boss." haha

Look at my handsome 5 year old. How did he get so big so fast!!

All the kids seemed to enjoy the cake. A few of them kept saying it was the best cake ever! haha So at least that was good to hear! haha

Piñata Time!!
Wyatt had been looking forward to having a piñata for a long time. He was talking about wanting a piñata for his birthday party last year when he wasn't even having a party. haha So he was pretty stoked that it was actually happening this year.

Ethan was the last to hit the piñata and he brought the poor puppy to the ground. The kids then went on a mad run to get as much candy as they possibly could. One little boy starting whining and complaining that he didn't get much candy. So our sweet little Wyatt decides out of the kindness of his heart to give his friend some of his candy. Then the boy grabbed 2 more candy's out of Wyatt's hands after he had already given him some. That and he grabbed one that Wyatt really wanted for himself and when Wyatt told him that he wanted that specific candy and asked for it back the kid jerked away and left so that Wyatt couldn't get it. Wyatt then was pretty sad because he had wanted that piece of candy and this kid took it from him. I was pretty upset since Wyatt was being so nice to his friend and giving him some of his own candy even though the kid had gotten a lot of candy. Then to have him take even more candy than Wyatt had so generously given to him made me pretty upset. I kind of wanted to smack the kid! Luckily, Wyatt had another friend that came over after seeing Wyatt upset and tried to make him feel better by giving him one of his candies. After the piñata escapade we headed inside and decided to put on Paw Patrol's for the kids to watch while I put names on goodie bag and filled them up before the kids headed home. I was really happy to have all of the kids out of my house. haha Another nice thing was that my friend Deanna had stayed instead of just dropping off her son Jacob. So she was able to help round up the kids as well. Plus it gave me someone to talk to while the kids were playing.
